  1. just tweaked some setting and did fine tuning on my laptop and now I get 50-60 fps on all low settings, then I turned on some anisotropic filters a little bit and now it's less pixelated and I can spot enemies a bit easier, and that give me about 40-ish FPS with is acceptable. Still need a cooling mat though.

Anyways, Ed, what rank do you unlock the as val? replayed the mission and I absolutely love it.

  2. I've watched quite a few vids so far and i've heard that you can use the sun's rays to distract enemies. Then a lot of it was the usual; use cover tactically, never chase enemies. All of which I know very well and do but since I didn't know that maps, I was left wondering where to go and when i do find cover, it's usually where an enemy spawns... so i gotta learn the spawn mechanics... but I do like Caspian Border for now.

But it's funny how there are so many mindless noobs running about doing nothing and it's annoying when there is a high levelled person on the other team in a jet or heli; they are almost impossible to take down when my team cannot do anything about it. It seems like i'm the only sane one on my team because it's usually only me who is firing a smaw or rpg at them. But when there are some mid levelled players in the game, sh*t actually gets done because they actually ptfo.

I think i'll practise a bit more on campaign mode with the gun's recoil mechanics and reading symthics stats, but so far, I really love the AS VAL from playing that mission as Dima.

Anyway... how long did it take you Ed, to get decent at the game?

  3. Just thought i'd bump this thread as i just got this. Had to turn everything down to low to play it and the amount of heat my laptop produces in incredible; I could use it as an alternative fire source to fry my eggs. I need to get a cooling mat very soon or BF3 will melt my processor.

Anyway, I started playing on campaign to get used to the mechanics. It's unlike any other shooter i've played before; I have never in my life had to move my mouse so incredibly hard just to compensate for recoil. Then comes the graphics; I can't see a bloody person from far away because the view is all pixelated and deformed. Campaign was alright and when I learnt to use a tank, I decided to go to multiplayer. Needless to say, there is no teamwork and everyone camps in corners; I couldn't move anywhere without some prone camper busting my ass on every corner.

It also seems like I need to put an endless amount of bullet in someone to kill them. It's incredibly annoying and even looking at symthic, an assault rifle shouldn't use any more than 6 bullet to kill someone but somehow I need to use an entire mag even though I burst fire or single shot. This lead to a measly KDR of 1.13 where in other games, I get at least 2.5 or much, much higher.

Well, I guess it's because i've only played it for 2 days so far and only sort of half learnt one map. Hoping to bump up that KDR to at least 2. Might buy BF4 eventually.

  4. Airsoft Edinburgh do private skirmishes at set prices for set times. They are extremely expensive though, for 1 hour, it's like £15 per head which isn't that long. It goes up to around £80 per head i think for like 6 hours maybe.

Honestly, just play a regular game and have walkie talkies amongst your friends.

  5. ? also something about PTW no idea what that is. Is it a make because they look expensive as well? http://www.fire-support.co.uk/category/systema-ptw-aeg/

They have gearboxes that are much more advanced than normal gearboxes, they never miss a shot and have instant trigger responses. Plus they use interchangeable cylinders which means you can change the fps within seconds. They are 1:1 scale in terms of weight and detail.

They are advertised to be training weapons used the the military, so obviously, milspec is a selling point and an excuse to jack up the price by 5 million.

  6. I just found out that when I bought my laptop months ago, it came with cyberlink powerdirector 10 and apparently cyberlink and AMD work together because I see AMD labels everywhere on effects.

I can find stuff easily as well. I'm going to try it out now and see if it's any good.

  7. So I used to use adobe after effects quite a lot but I just kept using trial versions and it's great. I can have precise edits and sync audio extremely well. But I can't use it forever on trial and I ain't paying 400 quid or what ever it costs.

I use windows move maker quite a bit too and I really like it; it's simple to use and does the job well. But it does have that many effects which I would like.

Today, I decided to use lightworks, which is free and what an utter load of shyte bollock it is. Dragging and dropping doesn't exist, they use this "mark and park" method which is utter shyte. Useless. I can't even sync videos to music precisely, it's extremely off. The worst editor I have ever used.

Is there anything that is decent enough to have some effects and have precise editing?

  8. hey... that's great and all... but please, check the date of the original post :)

Anyways, since we're on this, I might as well say that since I posted in this topic a while, I too have bought a decent gaming laptop for my self and it cost me £530.

    It's a lenovo G505s with an AMD A10 5757m CPU with a Radeon 8650g and Radeon 8570m GPUs.

    Brilliant for the price.

  9. They seem like innocent toys but in secret, Morrisons actually direct them to pyrotechnics; they send children in large quantities to buy the so called "cheap toys" and they give them to the pyrotechnics.

The pyrotechnics then fill them with petrol and attach an ongoing fire at the end of the barrel. They are gonna get an army of them of and burn down da citeh.

  10. I always just buy in ridiculous bulk, like 36000 BBs per order, usually works out about £80 or so for Blaster .25s, which is almost £3.50 cheaper per pot than buying individual pots.

Patrol Base is where I go, but Landwarrior do similar orders for similar prices, never had them posted though.

Yeh, imagine this going through your letter box in the mornin'

  11. I'm 16, 2 more years until I can buy my own airsoft gun and not needing my parent's credit card!

Actually, on the day of my 18th birthday, I am going to go down to my local airsoft shop and buy a gun that costs over £100. It's still gonna be 2 tone, but... I don't care.
