Best thing is to stock up on stodge for breakfast. I normally have a bowl of cereal, bit of toast, sometimes a yoghurt and always some coffee. I tend to not bring snacks but only a couple bottles of water as hydration is more important than snacking. Lunch for me I tend to eat a little earlier than I normally would at home as I feel it settles better than trying to scoff it all in the lunch break and also bomb up mags etc. and prevents me from getting a stitch the game after the break.

As I'm inexperienced with the Kalashnikov family of weaponry, I was wondering if any of you kind gentlemen could inform me on the performance of ICS's AK's. Cheers

What about an ALICE web set with an AK pouch on it, that seems pretty scavenger-like and also fits the colour scheme of the impression.

Calling anyone something like that is out of order on any thread on such a chill and polite forum such as this, but especially after Ian commented on the name calling and arrogance which has been shown on this particular thread by some people, that is out of order dude. And on the note of helping out with the loadout: maybe going down the 'retro' route with this impression could possibly be cheaper, easier and a bit less controversial for the politically sensitive among us. That looks pretty good, and the KZS jacket looks a lot better as part of the overall impression than I thought it would in my head. Possibly a solution to the respirator would be to get one of those half face painters rebreathers which I think I'm going to do. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they are more practical for in-game use than a full on Gas Mask. If I go down that route then I'll probably just pick one up to clip on anyway for the effect.

Someone at my sight has an Ares Tavor which worked flawlessly out of the box and still does. So basically makes it worth as much as your house.

I'll pick up one of those straps as soon as then! Yeah that's another reason I'm put off chest rigs for this impression. I would love a lifchik for this also as they do seem to fit in well with the games scenario's and also blend in with the loadout, but they are a little expensive if you factor in the postage from RU

OH! crude photoshopping if there ever was. I like the idea of a chest rig, but they don't seem to like the idea of me unfortunately. This is why I'd be more inclined to get one of the best rigs/webbing that have been mentioned previously in this thread. I also will probably purchase the gas mask to hang off of me, but what's the best way of attaching it?

First off, maybe doing an Israeli impression isn't the greatest idea giving current events over there and you could get a bit of stick for impersonating Israeli military. (Just a word of warning, but each to their own and it's all up to you I suppose) However, if you do decide to go for it. I have two words for you, and they are: OLIVE DRAB! Best bet for chest rig is probably some sort of OD plate carrier like a WAS DCS or WAS RICAS, add a few M4 pouches, 3 or 4 Grenade/Smoke pouches and a utility pouch. Try eBay for a Helmet Cover. They are sometimes known as 'Shower Cap' Helmet Covers. In fact, I seen someone selling one on ZeroIn (forgive me for mentioning it Mods) a while ago but not sure if it's still there. Rifle is probably safe with a standard length M4, vertical grip, Holo sight and 2 point sling in OD. Probably something like Classic Army or G&P as they're M4's have good rep. You could even try get a G&G Top Tech M4, but they don't have RS trades if that's the kinda thing you're into.

The thing is though, I would just look like your average hire player at my site if I wore tracksuit bottoms, as that's all the hire players seem to wear when they turn up. Also, I'm not going for the bandit look, in fact I really dislike the bandit look as it is just the generic 'russian/eastern bloc baddie' look.

I'm actually almost there with the generic look once the essential items of clothing are ordered. I will probably also buy the Portupeya that Ian linked and that AK belt pouch and with the retro military type backpack I have already should be on the way. I had a quick read through the STALKER wiki and I need to source some Loner patches now, anyone know where to get them?

Yeah, I want to try and get as many opinions as possible on this impression as I haven't actually played the game myself, only watched a few gameplay video's. The RD-54 pack and that Portupeya belt & braces combo seems like a fabulous idea but how much would it all actually cost as I'm on a bit of a budget.

A Czech player at my regular site, has had one for about a month or so and it really is an aesthetically pleasing gun, shoots reasonably well too considering its smaller than some MP5's. Only problem is mags are a pain in the arse to find in stock and they're a little overpriced IMO.

If that wasn't a "dad" joke then I don't know what is. *facepalms* But anyway... I may have found an extremely cheap solution to the load bearing problem I've been facing with this loadout. Basically an old Swedish webbing set (£12) with one of those quad AK74 pouches - I think they're around Afghan War period? - which are from eBay at around £20. What I was thinking of doing was moving the two pouches which come with the web set to one side and having the mag pouch on the other to give the "scavenger" look. Struggling to find a jacket for this impression guys. The M65 jacket is a decent option, but I'd like something a bit more Russian. What do you think about a KZS or KZM suit and only use the jacket? Or even if any of you know where to get a Gorka jacket on its own?
