  1. Anyone know how to go about purchasing a Gorka1 jacket on its own?

  2. Indeed, Lozart, it is all about the outfit. Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can purchase: (A) Gorka 1 jacket on its lonesome, or, ( the perfect OD hooded jacket on the cheap? Also, as a third option, I was thinking, would it be worth while grabbing some sort of light coloured smock on eBay and having a bash at dying it OD?
  3. So I'm assuming that this particular CYMA is actually pretty good. (I know nothing of CYMA AK's but I've heard the higher numbers are better) That CM .040 is looking like a shout.
  4. Or... would it be even easier to get a CM .040 and source a wood hand guard for it, because that's really all the AKS-74 is, isn't it? Or am I just being a dum dum?
  5. Well TBH, the AK purists know where to get to if they sneer at me for mix 'n' matching an AK while wearing a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inspired loadout as it would be expected from a post nuclear disaster survivor. I think the Dboys body/CYMA internals route sounds fun and interesting. Its a shame I'm about as good with Airsoft internals as King Kong is with chopsticks though and would probably butcher the job. Also, I'm assuming the 'economy' LCT's are listed as that on fire-supports website and it isn't relying on you reading the small print?
  6. I think I've spoken to you about that CYMA AK before, Ian, and it does seem like the best value for the money and users reviews online seem to rate it pretty highly. My only question on that rifle would be, are there any side folding stocks available for it to turn it into an AKS-74? I've seen the G-03 before, but I also seen the G-04 which is the shorter barrelled version and wondered how it would look with the standard flash hider instead of the 74U flash hider?
  7. Now looking for a rifle to go with this loadout. Undoubtedly thinking of an AK 74 platform, but which model? Was thinking either big standard '74, AKS-74 or an AK-105? Gimme your thoughts please.
  8. Yeah the motor is solid in the stock/pistol grip and to change it you need to replace the stock etc cause you can't get it out to upgrade. Also, if it's a g&g only batter there will likely be an adapter soon after, like the first recoil 416 connectors. Yes it is also real wood and the handgrip it polymer.
  9. Okay lads, so I've just seen a video showcasing new products for September 2014 and the VSS by G&G was involved. Looks like a sturdy gun but was said to be heavier than the King Arms. Also, was made of full metal with real wood stock and polymer handguard (as you'd expect from an up market G&G). However, compared to LCT & King Arms versions, it has a proprietary battery (yawnnnn). Finally, with a price tag of around $440, which equates to around £271 (we all know it'll be sold here for more a chunk more than that) you probably won't see many of these at your local site. The wood stock looks very nice IMO...
  10. How about you an egg timer, twist it for a lengthy setting and chuck it say 10 feet away? Those thing tick pretty damn loudly, especially when all is quiet and people are trying to be stealthy. You could even even tape/glue it into something bowl-shaped which would slightly amplify the ticking sound and also provide a buffer on one side for when it's thrown.
  11. My S.T.A.L.K.E.R. loadout as of what I had lying around, which obviously isn't the best but it IS a start on it. I now need to get a set of knee pads, some Cold War era webbing, a gas mask & possibly a better hood than the one I have right now as it is extremely thin and from a silly hoodie. Also, sorry for the horrendous quality of pictures that are attached.
  12. TBH I was never thinking of getting one of those M04 masks as I think that they look hideous, and also with them being hard plastic would feel extremely tacky and cheaply made. I was leaning more towards a Russian PBF mask and getting some new lenses in them or adding a layer of perspex as a lens guard.
  13. According to the documentary I watched on the embassy raid, Mack (first guy on the balcony), spoke about a Hi-Power in it so I'm guessing they did have them just incase they got dead mans click.
  14. Thanks for the feedback chaps! And on your note Happy, I've seen some people use Flecktarn in they're loadout a for this before but it had been heavily faded and it seemed to work quite well as it gave the effect of the Russian version of Flecktarn. However, in saying that any sort of Russian, Czech, Ukranian pattern can be had cheaply I seen a pair of trousers that would fit the bill nicely. You mentioned that you have a loadout similar to this, would you mind showing me a few pics as a reference for building my own please. I think that I'll go with some 58 webbing as it can be had on a budget and doesn't look out of place. But what jacket should I use underneath it? I've seen folk use the surplus German parka's and also Gorka jackets. Finally, that mask pictured is pretty cool! Where could I go about getting one like it? Thanks
  15. Just had a thought while watching some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. gameplay on YouTube, Would it really be all that difficult to create a reasonably convincing loadout based on the game? I came up with a few ideas in about 5 minutes of some super-mega-intense brainstorming! (From the head down) Some sort of gas mask with Airsoft lenses OD/Khaki Hoodied jacket Some sort of webbing or SA Assault Vest Military style backpack Khaki/Flecktarn combat trousers Some OD knee pads Black assault/combat boots Also, any sort of Russian weapon with sling.
  16. What are you guys opinions on the ICS Plastic Bodied Sig rifles? Is the plastic up to a good standard or is it a bit poopy?

  17. How can you tell if the Gas Mask you are purchasing is "Airsoft Ready"? I've seen many different types advertised as this on eBay etc but I don't entirely know how to tell if the lenses in them would suffice for use in Airsoft.
  18. I actually own the Jacket pictured and I can back up what Rock Climby-dave said to it not being as bright as the pictures suggest. The only time it would be as bright is if you were up close and personal, then you'd be like a running flare! I also actually wore the jacket on sunday past and it seemed to work reasonably well with the DPM trousers I had on as it created somewhat of an unusual constrast.
  19. Thought I'd make a topic to discus the Swiss camo patern, Alpenflage as it has really caught my eye as an Autumn/Winter colour scheme. What are you guys' thoughts on this pattern and how effective do you think it would be in UK woodland? The camo pattern was originally developed in the 1950s I'm sure and took its inspiration from a couple of different kinds of German camouflage. It was in service with the Swiss Military until the late 1980s when it was replaced by a more woodland'ish pattern (TAZ 90 I think).
  20. Is there any difference in quality of the pattern? As in, does one look slightly better than the other.
  21. Afternoon lads, As I'm putting together a 'Nam MACV-SOG/LRRP Impression, I was thinking Tiger Stripe to be my best bet camo-wise. BUT. I'm not sure which to get as I know some qualities vary. However, I've went on the Tiger Stripe Products website and seen, on there, the Tru-Spec Tiger Stripes. So after a quick Google search I found them in stock by a seller on eBay for a fairly decent price, but I also saw that Propper Tiger Stripe's were in stock too, so which one's do I go for on here?
