Finally got the look I wanted for the l85 thanks to @gavinkempselland @MandalShArK. Bought an "Elcanish", then a small red dot.
I had to re thread the holes on the mounting plate to accept something recognisable, but that wasn't a chore.
Bought a kill killflash too which works better than I expected. Will do some festive fettling looking forward to the new year.
For a second, I saw the front grip and thought you had somehow bullpup'd a bullpup!
Very nice!

Quick bump.
Would it be fair to ask for £100 each?

Welcome
Congratulations on joining the most obsessive & financially unstable hobby/sport in the world!!
Regarding electric pistols; forget them. Whilst they are more reliable in the cold, they are underpowered, poor build, low range & generally unimpressive. Total waste of money.
If you're looking at a reliable gas sidearm, have a look at the Tokyo Marui range of glocks & the fnx 45.
If you want to pay slightly less for metal construction, WE are a good brand of pistols; Glocks and Sigs tend to be thier better models.

If in doubt, take it.
I once played at a site in the Midlands and we all had a tag (a price of hard plastic with a number written on it, attached to a string) around our necks that symbolised a "life" and the enemy team had to kill you and take it from you before your 2 minute bleed out.
Which ever team at the end of the match with the most lives left won.
I came out of respawn, started running and got hit instantly, centre mass. I stood bewildered, wondering where the shot come from. 2 mins pass, no enemy comes to take my tag, so I take the 5 steps back to respawn and come out again.
I slowly start creeping cautiously forward and can't see or hear anyone. I start jogging....I hear the slap of a round on my plate carrier again. I called hit, look around for who shot me, wait 2 mins, bleed out and go 10 steps back to respawn.
I decide I'm running full pelt out of redpawn to try and avoid this mystery sniper.
I run out of the respawn, 2 steps, slap. Centre mass AGAIN.
At this point I'm getting a bit annoyed at being spawn camped.
I respawn and creep slowly forward. Because I'm looking for a hidden sniper, I don't look where I'm going and I stumble slightly. I look down to see my tag fly up on the chain, then slam down....onto my plate carrier....making the same bloody sound as a bb hitting my chest plate! The movement of me running was making the tag jump up and down, slapping on my plate carrier.
I'd been calling a hit for no reason. Needless to say, the Marshall watching was quite amused! He did however commend my honesty about hit taking!

Hello all,
I have a TM 416 that is stock externally but I'm not keen on the standard handguard.
I was hoping to put on a keymod handguard, ideally something that requires no mods and would "drop in".
My question relates to the gas block at the front of the Rifle. I like the "tacticool" look of integrated suppressors and was wondering if I bought a longer rail (a lot of places do a 13.5 inch rail, angry gun for example) would the gas block fit within the handguard or would it be too wide/tall and need a shorter handguard so that it would sit just outside of the rail. The current handgaurd does conceal some of it but I didn't know if the aftermarket versions would as they tend to be slimmer designs.
Sorry if this is a newb question; I've never modded a ngrs 416 and last thing I want to do is spend over a hundred squid on something that won't fit.
Bonus points for anyone that can offer advice on any particular handguards. Double bonus points if anyone is selling one that would fit!!!
Thanks in advance,
FNG

Is he planning on selling them? They are very cool and I would be interested. There's certainly a market for them!

My 2 cents;
Kwa mp9.
I've had one for years and it is one of my faves.
Fairly light but sturdy. Nice rate of fire if needed. Small enough to be easily wielded for tight cqb and still has nice enough range. Despite being small, there's still plenty of room for attachments if you want to run a tacticool look with suppressors, peq/torches, optics, grips etc.
Because its small, if you decide a gbbr is not for you, you could still use it as a secondary, albeit it's a bulkier secondary than a pistol.
Its quite loud and looks proper sexy.
Mags are 28 rounds (I think, might be wrong) so you have to conserve your ammo as so many have already said but it's a blast.
Again, as already said, mags are heavy and pricey, but running an mp9 primary in cqb has been so much fun over the years.
I did dual wielding mp9's once.....Once. reloads were a bit tricky due to how big and weighty they are but wow was it fun!
I can't offer much more regarding gbbr. I do have a we g36 but I can't comment on it in game as I haven't yet got it site legal (shoots hot out of the box) but it's nice to hold and surprisingly light due to its polymer build.

As silly as it might sound, I'm just looking forward to going again.
I used to play twice a week (over the weekend) and sometimes on a Thursday night in my early-mid 20's, but then marriage, house and kids happened. Before lockdown, I stopped going and probably played once a year.
I put on some weight over lockdown and I went last year and I was just exhausted. I skipped the last game and it felt like a drag. It was really demotivating and I lost all interest.
Fast forward to this year and Im now 2 stone lighter. I went twice last month and I got seriously bitten by it again. The weight loss helped massively and I was able to run around again and had a blast.
I keep thinking about going again and plotting in my head about what guns to take, what kit to wear, what changes I can make to my loadout to make it easier and more efficient.
I wont be able to play regulalrly like i used to because of shifts, kids etc & I don't think I'll be able to go again until mid September but I am so excited for it!

Sorry, AK has sold
-
Hi all,
I'm hoping for some appraisals for some of my kit that I'm considering selling.
First up, Specna Arms SA-e19 edge:
Internally it is stock, bought new, put about 500 rounds through it but then bought a TM M4 and took the handguard off this and put it on the TM. The Specna now has an SR15 style rail instead; the barrel is shorter than the handguard as I was going to do an integrated suppressor style build. It's not a perfect fit and it relies on the bolts on the handguard clamping into the outer barrel. No gas tube/block.
Will come with an Ali Express Holo sight as pictured. No batteries, possibly got the 2 mags it came with.
Next up; Cyma ak74u
Bought second hand from this forum last year but I'm about to upgrade to a recoil AK.
This will come with 1 mag. No batteries. Optic and rail mount not for sale as these will be going on my new AK.
I've probably put about 400 to 500 rounds through it only as I didn't have any batteries that fit. I suspect it might be an ex 2 tone as there are a few little flecks of red pai t here and there but only noticeable up close.
Aaaand finally, Ares "Honey Badger".
This is a very reluctant sale as it has been a go-to for many years now and has been brilliant.
Won't come with any accessories pictured, no battery and 1 or 2 mags.
Internally stock apart from the gearbox spring (possibly a Guarder m95? Shoots around 320 fps on 0.2). Externally has a few little bumps and knocks as it's had good usage.
My guesses are:
Specna: £180
Cyma: £100
Ares: £130
Thanks for looking.

What sort of price are you thinking of?

Definitely interested for my tm

Hi all,
I recently acquired a WE 999c (G36c). I chrono'd and it is super hot.....around 440 fps!!!!
It's certainly too hot for any sites.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with extreme fps changes with different powered gas? The gas that I have tried smells like propane (was already in the mag when it came) was wondering if a 134a would be a significant enough drop in fps to get it under site limits.
If not, it's research time on a new bolt or nozzle!
Thanks all!

I've recently set up my Plate Carrier with a belt to spread some of the weight around.
I haven't gone to a game with it yet but when I have had it on in the house getting it all to fit, it feels very comfortable.

Sorry for the late reply; got in work a lot later than planned and had Dad duties.
Some photos attached of current condition.
A few things to be aware of:
*Screw hole on the motor plate has cracked and a small piece broken away. Tried to get this in photo.
*Hasn't had any maintenance for several years and has been sat on the rack since way before covid.
I can remember that last time I took it apart to look at the airseal, I got a bit impati6and lost my temper so I may not have reassembled the gearbox properly! 🫠
*Fps was very low - I seem to remember a chrono of 180, then I opened it up and tried again and was getting even lower!
*As far as I can remember, it's all stock parts apart from hop rubber and possibly the gearbox spring.
*Missing one side rail and the lower rail.
*No battery included and the mag is also dead.
*There is some white paint on the iron sights as I tried faffing around with glow in the dark paint
Should easily come off.
*Lots of scuff marks; should be in the pics.
*Sold as boneyard and as seen.
That said, if anyone can get it working, it's a lovely little gat. Reluctant sale as it was my first ever aegis and has been with me for around 9 years.

Hi all,
Considering letting my old classic army umc go.
It's a g&g clone; no longer made. It would be boneyard as the last time I fired it, it was well under powered; less than 180 fps and that was tested a few years ago. Believe its an airseal issue rather than a hop issue.
The high cap mag is also dead; gears have gone.
It's in used condition; scrapes and marks due to woodland games crawling through the foliage. Notably missing a lot of black paint on the metal side rails, exposing the grey underneath.
Also no battery as the battery hasn't been used in years so has lost its charge.
Is it even worth selling at this point?
Can add pics tomorrow.
Thanks all.

HFC.
Surprised its not been mentioned yet.
They might not be on a lot of airsofters radar as they aren't regularly stocked by big name retailers.
HOWEVER, they are stocked by justbbguns who brand them as the gap between garden plinkers and entry level airsoft guns. I distinctly remember jambwow doing a review of a HFC pistol (either a mauser or a beretta) and he was saying that it was amazing and bestest gnu etc.
They are absolutely dog shit.

Hi all,
I've even mulling over a 726 AR style build but for cqb.
It's mostly a cosmetic thing as I like the look and feel of the bigger 762 style mags, especially when coupled with small AR style platforms.
Can anyone recommend a small, AR style platform that I can work with?
I'm not interested in hk417's or Scar H.
Thanks

2 for worst:
1. Hfc Sig 226. Absolutely shocking. Plinked in the garden a few times and was OK (no more than 50 - 60 rounds). Took it to first event as my sidearm and it got through around 6 rounds mid game before it vented all gas. Took apart when home and the hammer mech had snapped (hammer still attached but the release had snapped).
2. Well MP7
Aep, so low power and low range.
There some upgrades but in my opinion not worth doing as the end result is still low power and low range. That said, managed to get a few kills with it at Anzio on my first day there when my primary fired over on the chrono (was new to the hobby and put a 363mm inner barrel in the 200mm classic army ump; chrono went from 320 to 365!!)
Best:
Cop out answer but TM NGRS series. Scar L was the gateway into the series and I haven't looked back since.
Honourable mention:
Tm FN57 - ran for years without cracking, even on green gas. Awesome out of the box, made better with aftermarket body kits.
-
I opt for aeg recoils (granted you don't get the same bump as from a gbb but there's a slight recoil and if you use tm ngrs you get bolt stops and no firing on empty for some realism).
I prefer the reliability in cold weather.
I keep gbb for sidearm only. That said, mp9 gbb is fun for cqb when it's warm enough!
