For those interested, this is the inside of the flamingo bucking
@Cipher-032 I’ve got one to go in my mp7.

Update on Flamingo buckings:
Needs a the Laylax hop unit to work really. The stock Marui unit just pushes down on the first part of the contact patch, and not the whole area, regardless of nub.
How ever, What I can tell you these do fit the stock Marui barrels. I've fit one to my HK45 with a H plate, and it shoots just as good as the mod tan currently. Ill range test it at the field SundayWell that’s disappointing. If it isn’t w vast improvement over the modify tan which is just a conventional hop up mound then they hype doesn’t match the results.

I have always used propane and always with the tan plastic airsoft innovations adapter. No issues on any TM or WE gbbr or pistol mags

Quick update if anyone else has this issue.
I bought some Abbey Vertex Gas and everything is perfect. Hiss but not spitting then after about 7 seconds it spits. Just emptied a mag and a half with no cool down.
FYI I was using the high strength steel prop adapter (both my adapters).
Seems these mags just don’t like propane!
@UKCYukarin why did you go for the £12 Laylax ones rather than just getting the £4 TM ones from fire support? https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-inlet-fill-bottom-valve-for-gbb-pistols
@Wo1f you run propane right, did you have to swap out the fill valves?
No, I’ve never altered any of the valves on the magazines besides doing the green gas mod.

Hello everybody, I upgraded my rif with parts recomended the most here, i.e. Modify TAN bucking + SuperG brass nub. I also added tightbore barrel MapleLeaf 410mm 6.01mm.
I never found any exact measurements of the difference in fps and projectile energy while using short and widebore barrel vs. long tightbore barrel. Therefore I decided to have a nice evening with chrono and several weights of bbs and measure it myself.
I used chrono AIR CHRONY MK1 (https://www.anareus.cz/detail.php?id=12868). The web is in Czech language but it basicaly says that this is high end and precise chrono. Measurement were all taken indoor with air temperature around 22 celcius. Humidity was around 45-50%, therefore indoor average. I measured velocity in m/s and then converted it to fps with conversion of 1m/s = 3.28084 FPS.
I used several weights of BBs. These are: BLS precision 0.20g; G&G white 0.28g; Madbull 0.40g; Novritsch 0.49; BLS Precision 0.50g.
First I used vanilla/stock rifle and took five shots of each BB. Then I did the upgrade, i.e. change bucking, nub and barrel, and again I took five shots each. You can find result in table hereunder. In green cells there are mws stock shots and in red cells there are shots after the upgrade.
MWS table.xlsx 13.93 kB · 2 downloads
Edit: Please ignore measurement of the fisrt shot with BB Novritsch 0.49 taken with stock MWS. It is a typo and I dont remember the correct measurement.
What I find interesting is this:
1. I feel like I dont have enought fps in stock/vanilla rifle. If I remember correctly some people said their stock rifle has around 330fps. Can anyone confirm this?2. Increase is not what I expected. I though it would be 20% and more because it is tightbore barrel which is 170mm longer than the stock one. Has anyone different experience?
3. Increase in fps and especially in energy is more significant with heavy weight BBs.
4. Consistency is very good. However I havent seen prolonged measurement in any other rifle and I took only 5 shots.
Please feel free to comment. I am very interested in your findings and opinions.
Thanks!Fantastic post, mate.
Some of the newer gen MWS’s have different float valves that lower the FPS. The gen 1’s were breaking the 1j limit in Japan under certain conditions so they changed it. With gas guns you’ll always get a larger joule increase than FPS increase though because it’s a self adjusting volume system depending on BB weight
I was getting a 60ish FPS increase with a 410mm. It could be the amount of hop applied, or perhaps it isn’t creating a good seal with the bucking. If it’s consistent it shouldn’t be that though.

Did you press the sear after locking the hammer back?
-
Nothing wrong with the Orga at all. Performance was very good. I just prefer the steel of the Prometheus as it’s more hard wearing than brass. That Prometheus barrel is for the mws and will work fine 👍.
the one in my mk12 project started off as an AEG barrel and was modified to work.

Ok, So ORGA LEX05 BARREL (371mm, 6,05mm) or Prometheus EG Barrel 6.03mm L: 370mm is good choice? I know that you were very satisfied with orga. Its still true? Thank you so much.
Orga is good. I prefer the Prometheus now as it’s steel. Pretty sure the EG barrel is AEG only though? Do they make an mws one? Mine is an aeg one but it’s a machined one off.

Then it seems all 8 of my MWS magazines have damaged fill valves! i'll swap the valves later on and keep the thread updated.
The valve is seated in the base at an angle. Have you got it lined up right?

It's defo not the adapter, nor the current propane bottle (using Colemans) im using, as said it fills TM Hi-Capa magazines and WE M4 magazines perfectly fine.
I'm going to swap the fill valve from one of my hi-capa magazines to one of mws magazines, as I believe i've noticed a difference in the internal nozzle lengths which may be affecting it.
A damaged fill valve does seem to be the only other alternative

Can you give me some specific examples? Sorry, I am not lazy to use google but this is quite new deep knowledge for me. I just want to walk in right direction... People here have so much experience. I am glad for any help of you. Thank you.
Just fit the barrel you want as you don’t need to worry about it’s power level. Then if you want more power from it we can go from there. The gas warning is more for the plastic slide TM pistols. The mws is all metal so you’ve got no worries there.
12 hours ago, UKCYukarin said:Anyone else have issues using an Airsoft Innovations Propane adapter filling MWS magazines? I have green gas and non green gas modded magazines, and both magazines just spews propane everywhere without taking any in. The adapter and propane both work with my other GBB mags (WE M4, TM Hi-Capa)
Any suggestions? Prehaps install some silent o-rings?
These magazines spew only a very small amount of gas if its from a Green gas bottle (tried nuprol 2.0 and 3.0, they both fill them fine!)
I’ve got one and it’s not let me down in years. The only problem I thought I’ve had with them is sometimes the plastic collar inside of the propane bottle is off spec and either doesn’t let any gas out or it pisses out the valve.
-
I want to buy another ten, but it will have to wait for another time 😂
stick with propane unless you live in colder climates. I don’t use Map gas anymore. I prefer to use Guarder power up gas. It seems to performs as well and doesn’t stink, which is a nice bonus.

What's the outer barrel set up on this?
I'm looking at turning mine into a full 16" DMR and I really like the barrel you have used here.
That’s the standard Mws barrel with the SPR (mk12) flash hider
21 hours ago, itsme said:Can anybody confirm that any outerbarrel wil fit the MWS or do i need to look for something in particular, ive seen the post on one of the first pages from @Wo1f where he states that the dytac has a wider "lip" so aftermarket rails will fit without pts ring. I'm looking for a 7 or 8" barrel/rail.
will any brand do or does it have to be a dytac? I really want a heat treated outer barrel, any tips? 😀
Any Mws spec barrel will fit, but the Dytac I know has the wider lip to fit aftermarket barrel nuts for rails. There are others with wider lips like the model works outer barrels, but I’m not sure about the rest

Sorry for asking again but could anybod reply to these questions?
Also propane users (@Wo1f?) : do you use the coleman 465gram bottles? they seem pretty expensive in belgium.
they are about 16 euro. but a nuprol 2.0 weighs in at 300gram for 10 euro, am i missing something?
In the US the same bottles sell for 3.5 dollar so is it even cheaper in europe to get these with the adapter?
I use rothmans ones I think. There the long type that plumbers use, not the camping ones

Seems it doesn't fit my front end either
The collar that's supposed to screw off to fit the suppressor? Yeah, it's just moulded on.
There’s no threads under it? You’re talking about the first part near the end and not the angled bit that the suppressor tightens up against?

Dammit.
Don't suppose you have the KAC FFRAS kicking about do you? The one I have in the kit I bought is an SR25 RAS with the cutout on the top rail for the folding foresight
I’ve not, sorry. I had one but it was attached to a VFC SR25 that is now gone.

Should have said, I’ve got one sat in a box never used as it didn’t fit my VFC mk12 front end

@itsme there’s nothing sharp on the SixG nub. I’ve used it on multiple guns and multiple buckings. I’ve had more marks from the plastic omega nub than the brass SixG.
ive ran tracers in my GBBR’s on occasion but I only use Geoff’s ones.
You can increase your fps by sanding the bit on the end of the nozzle spring that the rocket valve rests against. Take a tiny amount off at a time and test though.
Apologies for my quietness. Work has been shite

I wasn’t a fan of my PDI raven barrel. The hop window is tiny

What site lets you run a tiny 416c as a DMR?

Specna arms 416’s are £200 new aren’t they?

I was hoping to have my FNX, but Defcon have no date for me when the next batch are due in. One is going in that, the other my mp7 and probably the other in my scar. I’m down to one Mws now and that’s got a special hop in it, so it won’t be getting swapped out for any bucking.
