Ah, well, good question; well presented (bet you've never heard that before). These particular guns obviously pack a fair bit of PTS stuff that's no longer in production which is why I picked them up now even though they're not necessarily going to be the next projects for me. I did however pick up some 2 PTS MIAD sets in FDE and FG before supplies dried up so that settles the grips and colour schemes. I'm thinking one'll stay 14.5" with the nice mid-length gas system just cause I think it looks cool and one I'll swap down to a 11.5" since I always play CQB these days. The BCM receiver sets are obviously very shiny and pretty so they'll stay, as will the magpul trigger guards, the Battle Arms selectors and the BCM charging handles. I'll keep one of the SureFire brakes and probably go for one of the new PTS Griffin devices on the other. Not sure about stocks or handguards; there's so many options on the RS market that are actually in similar price brackets to the Madbull rails and since the guns are wired for LiPos in the buffer tube I'm not limited by battery storage up front. Definitely a tube on at least one of them, Midwest or Centurion most likely. -

I'm kind of going that direction to be honest. On a base level I'll only actually have a couple of ARs in each category as it were; few AEGs, 3 TM SOCOMs and 1 GBBr (for now). I get that people who don't have the time to intricately research the many, many kinds of handguards etc just see "yet another M4'". But especially once you get in to the world of GBBRs and fitting real parts to them, then (IMHO) the mind-blowing amount of parts available to fit means that classifying it as just one type of firearm is pretty much incorrect. Especially when most airsoft guns do the same thing on the insides. There's also the serious aspects of ancillaries, accessories, LBE and tooling. I mean sure you can buy an MP5 and then a suitable battery a scope mount and a box of plastic mid-caps won't cost all that much in the grand scheme of airsoft. But when you've dropped everything you've got in to the very best magazines for your one type of gun, the greatest mag pouches money can buy, expensive accessories that often might not suit another platform and (most importantly) invested significant time in to learning intimately how to work on one platform and then money in to buying very specific tools for that one family of guns... well you kinda wanna stick to your strengths, as it were. Obviously a lot of airsofters out there want a gun wall with as many different models as they can physically get because that's what they think is cool, more power to them. But I joined up as an armourer because I like working on guns and airsoft lets me do that in my spare time using exactly the guns and parts I personally like the most, rather than the ones a military publication says I have to use (which are probably quite boring a lot of the time). Not having an argument here with you in any way or saying you're wrong, just putting across my view point for those who might not have considered some of the points above. -

2 x Avalon (VFC) BCM 14.5" AEGs SureFire X300 SureFire M300a FirstSpear Assaulters' Gun Belt, AGB Pad 6/12 and 6/12 Cummerbund Upgrade There was probably at least a month or more gap between the different orders but stuff always seems to end up arriving in one big lump for various reasons; customs inspections, differebt lengths of shipping delays etc. Proper shots of the rifles are coming of course, just waiting on some background material. -
Hop doesn't kick in immediately with a titled gun (at least when I've experimented) and if you're using canted irons/an RDS you'll only be aiming with that backup because somebody's too close for your other optic. There'll probably be a bit of 'dead ground' in between the maximum straight flight distance of your BBs with the gun canted and the minimum useful range of the primary optic, but that's not too big of an issue IMHO.

Oh yeah it's fine. Trust me I've had that one many a time, ha. You expect it when you're only in your mid-twenties and don't even look that old. A few more summers working out in the sun and maybe I'll stop looking like a teenager. More airsofting, get the old skin good and weather worn.

Every morning. Grow a reasonable 'tache every year for movember. Luckily it only really grows in the goatee 'area' which makes being in a job where you're required to shave every day a lot easier. I wish I didn't need to at all frankly, it'd save a lot of time as well as money in razor blades.
-
I said chrome parts. That whole gun is a tactical mirror to shave in each morning. Totally different story.

Swapped the barrel and bushing on my Night Warrior, never been a fan of chrome parts on pistols other than wall hangers.

I generally go with a loop of paracord when it comes to fitting slings to overly-narrow sling mounts on guns. Problem is that so many designs of airsoft guns are based on very, very old iterations of the real firearms and the slings used back in those days were much simpler affairs that just threaded a 1-2" canvas/webbing strap directly through the mounts on the weapon á la the famous L85 3-point. The advantage with paracord vs a keyring, or any other metal or plastic solution, is that you'll get zero rattle or scratching from the interface device. Also greater flexibility, greater options for customisation (i.e. unlimited, it's just string after all) and IMO it just 'fits' better aesthetically. -

R.e. the AR (which is looking good, nice paint work as per usual. Good, practical camo) it does have a lot of cool guy stuff sure, but it's not unrealistic. I wouldn't run a gun that heavy on account of my little match-stick arms but before the days of Daniel Defense rails it was pretty common to see all sorts of guys with 40mm'd up M4A1s/Mk18s as well as a lot of other gear on the forend. There's a lot of potential reasons for a PEQ plus a light, without even going in to the whole quagmire of IR stuffz it could be as simple as not having access to a ton of spare batteries in the field (or highly autonomous ops). So the light can be used for things that requires the use of a flashlight, then save the PEQ battery for making nice little sparkles on bad guys that are shortly getting a new sky light put in. Having tried EoTechs and Aimpoints with magnifiers I ended up moving back to either just a 4x optic or a 4x with docter/backup irons for the larger sites. Obviously it's subjective to gameplay and eyesight (mine is just bad enough to be a hindrance in airsoft) but I never found myself desperately needing a fully fledged red dot and the magnification, the compromise on the docter style seemed better given the weight saved. Each to their own of course. -
Good thing you quoted all the pictures so it's now plastered all over the thread even more then eh? Not that it matters about this one either way, this just happened to be the only version WGC will sell internationally. I'll skirmish it and knock it around with use to see how it holds up, then get a buddy of mine in HK to send over one with all the correct Glock trades a bit further down the line (if this version does the job of course).

Picked this up in the same order as the Series70. Stark Arms 'S17'.

Never seen anyone go OTT on the purism with regards the 1911 platform, no beef with them. It's purely to accompany a rifle that I'm currently in the process of putting together. If only that wasn't such a niche item and they actually produced such a thing for airsoft replicas. The stock irons (as with the 1911A1) are just terrible. Spooky....

I'll just leave this riiiiight here.

Does the pistol cycle alright? -
I love those odd-ball solutions to magazine capacities from back in the days before self loading firearms. There's a youtube channel called 'forgotten weapons' with some brilliant examples, particularly from the muzzle loading era. Not sure if anyone's played Metro 2033, but they definitely got the idea for the crazy rotating-belt fed shotgun in said game from a real life one-off/prototype black powder gun.

You should see it in the flesh. How they made plastic look and feel like this I don't know but it's quite amazing. Best fit + finish of any pistol I've shot/owned/handled/seen. Possibly of any airsoft weapon I've ever seen. Shame about what I'm going to do to it...

Quick unboxing shot before I get better pictures at home.

Yeah you get all sorts coming up. In terms of the high end kit it's generally the more established/better known brands, FS by comparison is very niche for example. But I've seen lots of Crye apparel, flashlights, radio stuff, handy little accessories like Sordin/comtac headband covers or covers for your hydration tubes in dozens of different camo patterns.. list goes on. -

Ha, I wish I was that minted. Lucky eBay find (in the UK no less), it's brand spanker and they only put it up for sale since our issued plates don't fit it (derp). So someone that's allowed to use non-standard PCs but has to use issued plates? Could just be a rifles regiment bloke, who knows. I'll be stuck with osprey if/when I go anywhere. I think the AAC is a bit of an odd one really, if you buy the fully modular front panel and the modular cummerbund instead of the strap all you've actually got is an Amphibian, though it may cost a couple of dollars more for the AAC depending on the exact colour/size options. Compared to to the Strandhogg, the Amphibian is more sneaky-beaky-gucci because it's got the built in radio pouches at the front which is the new 'thing' plus there's comms wires routing, whereas the Strandhogg lacks the routers and radio carriers, but does have much more comfortable shoulder pads. So unless you're going to be carrying a pair of PRC-152s in to a skirmish, I think the Strandhogg is much better suited for airsoft (generally). Might be different for some mil-sim guys attending very expensive games involving boats, but they're not buying FS anyway because SEALs haven't been widely pictured using FS gear. -

FirstSpear PC No 2 showed up yesterday. -
Finally acquired all the Crye and OpsCore stuff to get my TMC AirFrame together the way I want, ready for mounting stuff. Now just to sort out the ear/eye/lower face pro I want on it. Think I might have to buy an OpsCore helmet now looking at things, the Crye rails don't have as much real estate *gulp*
