  1. Finally acquired all the Crye and OpsCore stuff to get my TMC AirFrame together the way I want, ready for mounting stuff. Now just to sort out the ear/eye/lower face pro I want on it. Think I might have to buy an OpsCore helmet now looking at things, the Crye rails don't have as much real estate *gulp*
  2. No dremeling etc required on this one. King Arms rifle which is put together in the same was as the ancient and venerable TM AK i.e. nothing even slightly like the RS. Selector and mag release addition are KA as well. Frankly, it's a shoddy, low-quality feeling gun that falls apart when you try and use it, I can only presume it's nowhere near as nice as an LCT or Real Sword because a lot of it is just barely held together with hope and wishes. But it was purely built to troll on a certain group of other trolls, so I was only concerned with the aesthetics to be honest. Those pictures are at least 1.5-2 years old now so I'll take updated ones at some point, it looks a lot more USGI M4A1 these days. The AR front end goes on with an adapter block that goes in place of the usual AK front trunion, made by 'Action' some time back. I don't think they ever made any past the initial batch unfortunately, not seen them in stock for a long time. Well fortunately it was designed for people to hate it, so in its' own strange little way it's actually still doing the job.
  3. Sometimes you've just gotta go prone-supported with a handgun.
  4. I'm entirely right handed and my pistol/rifle mags are actually set up in the same places and facing the same directions. I don't have any drop-legs and I've only got the one rifle mag where Sam has 3 there, but I've been using a very similar setup for some time now and it's the best one I've found thus far.
  5. NERF is f****** advanced these days. They make a belt fed LMG with non-disintegrating link á la the PKM. Went in to an Argos for the first time in years the other day and they had 'em on offer for about £30. Came *that* close to walking out with one.
  6. Smith Optics Boogie Regulators. With the dark lenses, so I can't blame it on the sunshine. Don't think anyone every cloned that vest so it's most likely issue kit. Was the load-bearing rig everyone going away to hot places was given for a little while in between webbing/fixed ops vests going out and MTP stuff coming in, they weren't very popular though.
  7. Basically, the more natural fibres in any given item the better it'll generally take a dye. Cotton being the primary candidate. Nylon barely takes in any dye at all, which is why to even make a very slight colour change to any modern LBE (PALS pouches, PCs, chest rigs etc) you have to boil it up with a very strong dye in a big old pot for hours and hours. Bearing in mind that most decent tactical apparel out there is a nylon/cotton mix, the higher the nylon percentage the less you'll be able to change the colour. I've no idea what CS95 is actually made from and I don't recall it giving those details on the labels (as with most issued kit) but it seems to stain easily enough from things you don't want on it, so it should take some dye. Probably not as much as Ian's jacket there since that's an older model and is probably made up of much more (if not entirely) natural materials.
  8. I always recommend them yeah. The trigger is aluminium but the parts which take the wear are all steel and the hammer's got a chunky roller bearing which is a big plus. They don't look as internally realistic as a WA or (from what little I know) a WE but that's why they're more robust. Depends which parts you'd be after but nothing's likely to break very quickly and there seems to be plenty of mags about. I'm not sure how well it'd work for an SFW, depends on the barrel length to a large extent I'd imagine. The KWA receiver markings are fugly as hell so they'd need sorting; but getting/fitting the right handguard, stock, optic, gas block etc for the 119 wouldn't be any different to any other GBB system. I'm wouldn't buy anything WE personally, but some people love them, so obviously the base weapon is down to what the individuals requirements are. Ta. Mount is one of these: https://www.primaryarms.com/American-Defense-Aimpoint-T1-Mount-1-Piece-p/ad-t1-10.htm Far above the quality of any airsoft equivalents, but also much cheaper than the likes of LaRue and Daniel Defence mounts. No idea if any who'll ship to the UK stocks them I'm afraid.
  9. With perhaps a slight caveat for the shorter AEG mags, those first 3 shots in particular are a very good demonstration for what a stable firing platform the 85 is, especially out 300-600m. Even a biff like me can do it. For my contribution; took bloody ages, but I finally managed to get my LM4 finished and ready for some CQB gaming. So glad I moved over from the WOCs to this platform.
  10. Yeah I've not fitted it just yet since I'm waiting for a set of Crye side rails to come in but I've actually already fitted an Ops-Core X-Nape to the TMC 'frame, went on no worries. Had to use the original chinese screws and the specific nuts that Ops-Core supplied to get the best setup but that wasn't a problem. Only bought a new one because the one I picked up previously was for left-handed shooters ('Left Eye Dominant' version) which meant the buckle was on the right side and sat exactly at the point where your cheek should meet the stock, kind of annoying. Alright if you use the old 'tracer effect', purely instinctive shoot or already wear a mesh mask I'd imagine but I like to be able to get my face against the gun. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend Eagle even if you did have the cash, their designs are from the tactical stone ages. Compared to Blue Force Gear for example, who make (in my book) basically the best and most cutting edge line of pouches out there, they really are way behind the times. They might bring out a new line at some point but they seem to be selling so much to the american military that they don't care about civilian sales, which isn't uncommon with gear/gun makers over there. I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for a single-mag only lidded pouch though, as you say they are pretty rare but I definitely get where you're coming from. The EBBr PMAGs are built incredibly well, frankly OTT for an airsoft mag (which I'm a fan of personally). Nice capacity increase vs the TM 82 rounders and they're the same height as a RS mag which makes a nice change from all the stubby AEG mags out there. Fire-Support had a big stack of the things when I placed my order so you should be alright to leave it for a little bit.
  11. No worries. These are not the droids you're looking for. To answer the question - Gunman Airsoft's site at Tuddenham. Arnies took it over for the weekend for the sort-of-annual 'Op Morning After' highly serious milsim weekend. Out of interest, when you say one mag securely do you mean with the lids tucked in? I only ask because I've only ever used the common/conventional design of 'double' STANAG pouch to hold 1 mag per cell anyway and not had a problem. That is probably why hardly anyone makes lidded pouches specifically to only hold 1 magazine; though obviously But anyway, yeah Eagle are certainly not a brand I've ever/would ever buy. These days they make a lot of stuff for the DoD and USSF and that's about it really as far as I know. If you do see anything sold by them at a retailer it'll be far too expensive for what it is, antiquated in design and sewn by some unfortunate individual in a sweatshop in an impoverished country somewhere because they stopped making everything in the states a while back. You may well have browsed these already, but for anyone wanting to see a really good cross-seciton of the wide variety of different pouches currently available I'd recommend spending some time on these 2 pages: http://www.optactical.com/cltopmapo.html http://www.skdtac.com/Tactical-Rifle-Mag-Pouches-s/466.htm Anyway, stuff I've bought. One shot for the guys who aren't too fond of Magpul PTS and one of various american widgets.
  12. Let me know how they work out when they show up and after a few games. I picked up some pouches from them a long, long time ago that weren't too great but I'm hoping they'll have upped their game around by now because some of the designs they sell are pretty interesting. Small world! Couple of shots from my last game that might be of some interest for a bit of reference when mixing MC and Grey.
  13. Delivery from UR-Tac. These are the Fast Response which is their more basic model with (included) internal formed foam knee pads. The ATACS-FG version in particular features 500D cordura reinforcement on the knees (which is a big plus) and seat. 3D Battles; which are a slightly heavier and cheaper but more robust interpretation of Crye Gen 2s without any of the stretch materials. A very good compromise between Crye G2/3 and the Fast Response or a more conventional BDU/ACU. The OPS pads that come included are more like the Crye Gen1 pads and I tend to swap them out for Crye Airflex, but they are quite serviceable. Also nabbed a hat to go in with the order while I was making one.
  14. No sweat, just wanted to highlight in a polite way for future reference in case you weren't sure.
  15. Just so you're aware mate, it's UBACS - Under body armour combat shirt. People pronounce it 'backs', but yeah, there's no K. Unless it's because when you're in a squad all wearing 'em they keeps ur'backs cool and dry?
  16. That looks extremely convincing, nice work.
  17. Looks like a standard carbine length 7" handguard, the standard A-frame block/sight should go back on there no trouble theoretically.
  18. Source make bladders that're the same size as a 1L water bottle (because they're 1L, imagine that?), so you've got the convenience of just twisting a valve to drink without the surface area coverage of a 2/3L hydration carrier. People generally buy them in a set with a Tac Tailor 'joey' pouch but I'd imagine they only come in Coyote and MC. Could easily buy the bladder and stick it in any black GP pouch of choice though; just refill from a larger botttle in the safe zone whenever necessary.
  19. Starting on the grey loadout. Arc'teryx Talos Halfshell in the old style that's currently on its' away out (yet far better IMHO). Older type TAD Gear Stealth Hoodie that a friend in the states had stashed away for many years still in the packet.
  20. Well I've owned the LM4 for about 6 months now, not really used it apart from a bit of plinking but the magazines have no issues at all staying gas tight. Unlike the 11 x G&P WOC mags I owned for about 2 years before switching over to the KWA platform, which were nothing but an enormous splooging of money down the drain, every single one. The good thing KWA did with their rifle is look at the various systems already on the market and properly think about which areas need to be beefed up/altered and parts made of decent steel. I believe It's the newest of all the GBB AR-15s (possibly excluding the weird new G&G that's rather unrealistic), and it really shows. Soon as I take it to a game I'll let you know how it performs.
  21. So here's the LM4 I picked up last December, finally managed to get 95% of the parts I wanted together along with all the necessary tools. Took this just as I finished rethreading the upper in order to fit the Midwest Industries tube. Just need to get a light mount and finish work on the bolt catch to fit the BAD and it'll be 100%.
  22. I'd like some cerakote done on bits of my LM4 so I'd imagine I'll go down at some point. Just unsure about the whole process; time taken, cost, exact condition the parts need to be in prior to work etc. Their new website is good but there's not a massive amount of actually relevant info.
  23. That's impressive, Lantac are asking £175 for the exact same optic. Really good to see the Vortex stuff becoming more commonly available here, they make an excellent option for airsoft use. A lot of airsoft brands have been getting away with charging similar prices for much lower quality for too long now.
