New loadout carrying gear. P.I.G. AKB (Armour Kit Bag) with PIG Mk1 shoulder straps and the obligatory patches/sticker you just have to throw in to the shopping cart whenever you place an order online. Looks better when there's stuff actually in it. Still strongly resembles like a brown paper shopping bag admittedly, but a shopping bag that you can fill with all your very favourit'est airsoft kit and rest assured it will reside safe and sound within. Review will go in to the relevant sub-section soon. Also in case anybody was wondering, the sticker is a little bit of memorabilia for the massive sale SKD Tactical held as soon they found out Osama was sleeping with the fishes (literally as it turned out).

By the time you'd paid the shipping and VAT it would've worked out the same anyway, or close enough. -
Never seen a tactical St George patch before, where's that from?
-
I'm just amazed you put that canadian type (DIS?) carry handle on there. That's true love.

Does the missus gun have more accessories on it by any chance?

I've not tried any of their actual Chest rigs/PCs or upper body clothing, I found their MOLLE pouches to be somewhat hit-and-miss (though cheap it has to be said), but I've never been anything but impressed by the combat trousers. I got a set of MC Ultimate Direct Actions a long while back which are a bit heavy but very durable, then some Direct Actions in AOR2 last year which are perfect if you want something really lightweight with internal neoprene kneepads, most recently these new types are sort of a bridge between the two. Nice that they came in AOR1 for a few dollars extra as well. No stretch fabric like Cryes so they're a bit tougher overall, design accomodates the external kneepads (comes with a decent pair of their own design) and the pocket layout is nicely done. If you're like me and you prefer to carry 1 rifle + 1 pistol mag in a trouser pocket as you leave the safe zone, so that you can load and still have your easiest to access mag pouch filled when the need arises for a quick reload, they work exceptionally well.

It's all been about Crye style trousers for my last couple of procurements. Custom built from scratch (not be me, I literally cannot even sew in a name label) AC/Gen II type Combats in MTP: The kneepad pockets are reinforced by being constructed using 500D Multicam cordura, and the stretch panels aren't as stretchy as the Crye stuff but they're many many times more resilient. CP Gen 3 kneepads fit and velcro in perfectly. I've spent a lot of time looking in very closely at almost every single stitch and this guys' skills are just amazing, I'd probably say I prefer these overall to the Crye Precision originals I have in Ranger Green. Check this guy out - http://www.facebook.com/flimmuurtactical Also a couple of nice bits in AOR1 from OPS: As skirmish practical combat trousers go, I honestly believe you'd struggle to beat this new '3D Battle' cut they recently released. I do love my Crye uniforms, but these cost less, they're much more readily available and they come in a far wider range of colours and camo patterns.

Good choice in an AR. I'd definitely run the setup from the second picture. The photos themselves are quite well setup, try and get outside where possible, the quality of proper sunlight makes pictures look far better right away. Specially if you setup a nice clean background.

video + blog = video blog = vlog.

You've got the right basics with the photography, needs some slight refinements and you'll be bang on. The background in the first one is probably the best because it's purely the gravel, no plastic garden furniture or other random colours that distract from the subject (i.e. the guns).

Just taking a couple of snaps today to use as thumbs for some reviews to go up on YT, thought a couple of 'em came out quite nicely in their own right:

I was gonna say 'they're not that bad', but then $350 is probably gonna be more than most would want to spend on a PC in fairness. They do give mil discount to non-americans though if you can send/receive e-mails outside the MoD intranet on your DII account. -

I'm sure LBT would sort you out with one, heh. Or there's always EB: http://www.ebairsoft.com/cordura-6094-styl...cam-p-5783.html -

To be honest, I've messed up more of my SOCOM EBBRs by changing internals than I have improved them, so I've deliberately left the SCAR CQB bone stock (on the insides). If you're not a clutz with guns like me though (great for an armourer!) I'm sure you'll be able to stick a tightbore in there easily enough and tighten up the groupings a bit. I'm not certain if 363 is the right length but if you've already checked that out then I'd say that's a good way to go with things. -

Very solid purchasing choice. Last game I used mine I had one guy ask if it was a GBB. -

Must be a re-brand of the KWA? Anyone got one to compare? Nice setup as a 1911 goes though, good that it comes with the mag well, decent sights, hammer, grips etc. Well photographed too. -

Dammit.. was just talking about covers on another forum and got that stuck in my head. Shows what happens when you don't actually read things properly before replying. Ignore me, I've just been playing batman games for too long today. -

That's probably not going to fit to be honest. I mean it may vary on individual kit but stores have given me a medium MTP cover that doesn't even fit a medium helmet because the cover is cut for a Mk7 and I've got a Mk6a. -
Well, it'd be a bit silly from a logistical point of view for only the army and marines to switch and the rest of us still be wearing DPM.
-
Went down to stores about a week ago for some free stuff: Video on the MARPAT kit is already on the 'tube channel, video on the MTP is on the way if anyone's interested in some detailed analysis on that.
-
If I just wanted to do that I'd grab any old bit of kit to hang up. Though being rich enough to spend $180 on an item + shipping and then another £30+ on import fees just as an excuse for posting up these things would be great don't get me wrong, heh.

Last purchase to arrive. Temperate MARPAT FROG combat set to go with the Arid set: Everyone likes some digital camo right?

I'm not a fan of Foliage Green either to be honest, as you say it looks too grey and washed out. Sometimes if you fully deck out a gun with the FG stuff it looks good if the intention is more to create something urban styled or just for use on the range, but it's not very good camo for softing. Personally I went for it because I'm really not a fan of the grip-pods. For longer range RS shooting then I'm sure it's really useful, but in airsoft there's not really much of a need for a bi-pod on an assault rifle in my experience, and I find the big square portion at the top makes it awfully uncomfortable for a thumb-break grip technique. Not so bad if you go with the old style broom handle and grip it completely vertically, but that's not something I'm a fan of. The RVG is really light, strong, compact, comfortable to use in various configurations, very much un-complicated and cheap considering the quality, so it makes sense to me. -

Well yes, when you're issued a new clothing system it tends to be for free, heh. I'm afraid I do kinda need it though, sorry.
