  1. Cheers. Not sure of the exact figure off the top of my head, something like $110-120 before any shipping/tax.
  2. Bespoke engraved grips from VZ finally arrived at the weekend.

  4. I get ya, but I like to explain these things for all the lurkers. The less modular holsters tend to look a bit better, be they G-Code, OTG, Raven or whoever, particularly because you can get more options in terms of surface finish. That said I still like the look of my SOC Rigs, particularly with the two colours of kydex, but no worries if you personally don't.
  5. Each to their own, looks fine to me personally. G-Code quality is as good as it gets, built and functions at least as well as a Safariland and far superior to a SERPA. That and I can swap the lower cowlings out for compatibility with different lights in a matter of seconds so I only have to spend an extra $25 instead of $100+ on a complete new holster.
  6. Heh, well I don't think there's too much cross-membership between here and there so I figured might as well.
  7. New FirstSpear belt line, been using the same Tac Tailor belt for some time now and it did a good job but lacked the ability to cater for both PALS and belt mounting like my old VTAC Brokos did so this setup makes an ideal combination of the two.
  8. They should indeed, not hard to have a conversion chart printed and kept on a table next to the chrono station. I'd bet money a lot of people are breaking the safety rules without the foggiest idea they're even doing it. Specially when you see so many people on different forums recommending heavier weight ammo for GBB weapons.
  9. Yeah you'll wanna keep an eye on that (speaking generally to anybody here that might not know) you might only be doing say 330 on a 0.2 with a far lower muzzle velocity on a 0.28 etc, but with such a long barrel in a GBBr (the L85 especially is roughly the same as a 20" M16) your muzzle energy could well be much too high for site safety limits.
  10. Second Stark 17 (seeing as I had the mags already).
  11. A lot of places have adopted the zip tie system from what I've seen at my last few games, but the places I've attended issued out a different colour each skirmish. Sure if you bought a packet of every colour zip tie you could find you could likely cheat but if you're that much of a ***** then you're going to find some way or other to use a gun with an unsafe muzzle energy. Especially with all the myriad of RIFs and after-market FPS adjustment/spring swap systems that can be had these days and are commonly in use. I find it quick shocking when people break energy limits in CQB especially I have to say, what's that actually doing for people? Your gun couldn't quite reach out to that 5m target before and you need the extra range? Weirdos.
  12. Actually picked this all up a fortnight or so ago but I totally forgot to post somehow. -Salomon Eskape AERO and Peak -More patches for the collection -RA-T NPAS bolt for the LM4 -Magpul logo decals in pink and purple for the G&G -A lower cowling for the 1911 SOC Holster to allow carry of my railed Kimber with a TLR-1 fitted
  13. Everything I've seen and heard about the WE L85 just makes it sound horribly built, at least with ARs you've got a choice of quality built GBB rifles. I think the forend a lot of you guys are thinking of is something that APS cloned for their 'Raptor' AEG line. I believe it's originally based on style of handguard Remington produced for their select fire gas-piston M4s and ACRs aimed at government buyers. http://www.remingtonmilitary.com/Firearms/Carbines/ACR.aspx http://www.remingtonmilitary.com/Firearms/Carbines/RGP.aspx
  14. Sure, here's a parts list: KWA LM4 Magpul Industries CTR PTS ASAP BCM GunFighter Grip Mod1 PTS Ambi Selectors Midwest Industries Gen 2 SS-Series Freefloat tubular handguard G&P VLTOR Style low profile gas block PTS Battlecomp 1.5 Primary Arms T-1 w/ American Defense QD mount Magpul Industries Front+Rear MBUS & RSA Surefire M600c w/ ST-07 Remote switch & Haley Strategic Dropwing light mount
  15. Reminds me of some thompson and sterling clones I once took a look over manufactured by the IRA out of sheet metal. If you literally just stick 'Glock' in to MidwayUK you just can buy every single internal part; couldn't see slides, frames or barrels (which obviously just leaves you with a pile of small bits) but the rest is there. Also quite reminiscent of the AK an American built using nothing but after-market parts and the blade of a rusty old shovel to form and cut in to a receiver.
  16. Swapped out the FDE MBUS for that cool-but-bad-camo-in-every-environment look.
  17. I'm a barbie girl. In a barbie world.
  18. Just making some points related to the overall topic, a bit of extra information never hurt anyone. If the overall question was the RS calibre of the magazines Beta Project replicated, then yes they're 545 (or possibly 556 but the difference is minimal to say the least). (speaking to the general readership here) With the usual caveat of airsoft tolerances you can use any airsoft AK mag in any bloody gun you want. The only people I've seen berate others over the 'terrible sin' of putting a 545 mag in a 762 gun were bordering-clinically mental USSR obsessives who got themselves off every night under their hammer and sickle duvet cover at the thought of personally combing Stalins' moustache.
  19. If you scrape around a bit you'll notice 5.56 and 5.45 mags for AKs are fairly similar in profile, much straighter than 7.62x39. Reason being 7.62x39 is narrower at the shoulder than it is at the base by around 1.2mm, 5.56 only has a difference of roughly 0.6mm between base and shoulder. So when you stack the 762 it creates that curvature and the mags have to be that way in order to accept the full 30 rounds and then feed them out again properly. Those translucent waffled mags are by Arsenal in Belgium and come in various colours and all the main AK calibers, although the big US online guns stores seem to be in short supply (they're probably fairly rare over there). Here's an example much like the ones we get in airsoft: http://www.impactguns.com/arsenal-ak47-magazine-556x45-30-rd-bulgarian-mfg-clear-mgaim74nc.aspx AFAIK, Beta Project originally came out with the airsoft replicas and I'd imagine that's where PTS got their idea for the TMAG. The actual Magpul Industries AK magazines look just like PMAGs in terms of their surface, although IMO I think they kinda look weird, like an AR mag that's got a bit melted.
  20. All those brands TacMaster listed are going to shrug off pretty much anything you'll throw at them airsoft wise. BULLE would be the best quality to cash-money ratio of the ones mentioned (IMO) but Warrior is more 'real world' use. If you can stretch as far as Tac Tailor you're getting in to pretty gucci territory, the fight-lite plate carrier is definitely in the pro leagues.
  21. Actually Avalon is the make and that's just another name for VFC. BCM is Bravo Company Manufacturing, who produce the AR-15s these AEGs are loosely based on: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Mid-16-AR15-Bravo-Company-s/142.htm They're generally known as one of the top manufacturers in the RS arena and are also responsible for the Haley Strategic carbine. I must admit I'm not huge fans of them in terms of airsoft usage, so I'll certainly let you know if either become available.
  22. Finally got some shots of the BCM twins.
  23. SKD Tac had a sale on last week so.. yeah. SKD Enhanced BDU shirt - 'Charlie' variant FirstSpear Assaulter's Gun Belt Sleeve Gen 2 MBUS Front and Rear Gear Sector Scout Light Mount Mid-length MOE Handguards PIG FDT Alpha Touch Gloves
  24. Ah, well, good question; well presented (bet you've never heard that before). These particular guns obviously pack a fair bit of PTS stuff that's no longer in production which is why I picked them up now even though they're not necessarily going to be the next projects for me. I did however pick up some 2 PTS MIAD sets in FDE and FG before supplies dried up so that settles the grips and colour schemes. I'm thinking one'll stay 14.5" with the nice mid-length gas system just cause I think it looks cool and one I'll swap down to a 11.5" since I always play CQB these days. The BCM receiver sets are obviously very shiny and pretty so they'll stay, as will the magpul trigger guards, the Battle Arms selectors and the BCM charging handles. I'll keep one of the SureFire brakes and probably go for one of the new PTS Griffin devices on the other. Not sure about stocks or handguards; there's so many options on the RS market that are actually in similar price brackets to the Madbull rails and since the guns are wired for LiPos in the buffer tube I'm not limited by battery storage up front. Definitely a tube on at least one of them, Midwest or Centurion most likely.
  25. I'm kind of going that direction to be honest. On a base level I'll only actually have a couple of ARs in each category as it were; few AEGs, 3 TM SOCOMs and 1 GBBr (for now). I get that people who don't have the time to intricately research the many, many kinds of handguards etc just see "yet another M4'". But especially once you get in to the world of GBBRs and fitting real parts to them, then (IMHO) the mind-blowing amount of parts available to fit means that classifying it as just one type of firearm is pretty much incorrect. Especially when most airsoft guns do the same thing on the insides. There's also the serious aspects of ancillaries, accessories, LBE and tooling. I mean sure you can buy an MP5 and then a suitable battery a scope mount and a box of plastic mid-caps won't cost all that much in the grand scheme of airsoft. But when you've dropped everything you've got in to the very best magazines for your one type of gun, the greatest mag pouches money can buy, expensive accessories that often might not suit another platform and (most importantly) invested significant time in to learning intimately how to work on one platform and then money in to buying very specific tools for that one family of guns... well you kinda wanna stick to your strengths, as it were. Obviously a lot of airsofters out there want a gun wall with as many different models as they can physically get because that's what they think is cool, more power to them. But I joined up as an armourer because I like working on guns and airsoft lets me do that in my spare time using exactly the guns and parts I personally like the most, rather than the ones a military publication says I have to use (which are probably quite boring a lot of the time). Not having an argument here with you in any way or saying you're wrong, just putting across my view point for those who might not have considered some of the points above.
