So I think I have a lot of leaky mags. Not sure. About 3 weeks a go I purchased 3 new mags form fire support. Immediately ran some rounds through them and filled them about half way, as I do with all my other mags, for storage. Using Abbey Predator ultra. Just gone to do some test shots and all 3 are making some noises. Two are making snap crackle pop noises. Sort of a rustling and the third is similar but not as bad. I have 3 other mags that I bought with the gun a few months a go. Stored exactly the same way and no noises. What's going on here? leaks? Wasted 3 mags? I've heard you can simply put the magazine underwater to test for a leak, but I wasn't sure how I felt about submerging it as I am not going to disassemble it after to dry it

It sits too low and I have realised the piece of material I thought I should file will just end up meaning that it will slip back down overtime

Has anyone successfully fitted a Magpul ASAP QD sling point. They are different to the ASAP and I am having problems.

Random thought of the day. Has anyone ever built an old colt M16a2 based weapon off of a MWS lower/zet system. Anything from Colt command, XM177s, M16A2s, Carbines etc?

Yeah I have the matching flash hider, I think I have sorted it. I was trying to treat it like a normal screw and having it all the way "untight" by having it full loose to the left. Didn't realise it is a cam lock and so I needed to fully tighten it right and then back it off slightly once it was on. very confused but sorted.

Yeah I have the angry gun with surefire suppressor as well but just can't seem to get the thing to lock on

Out of interest, if that is an angry gun suppressor how the hell do you get it on? when I put my one on it is too tight before it even engages with the anti rotation teeth. So it is just held on with a tiny bit of friction

Yeah tactical reloads and I was using a HSGI Taco style pouch with the retention band off so it just fell out. Have binned them and got a mix of BFG and Esstac pouches coming. Ordered 3 new mags as well. It is hard to say for certain but I don't think it does

Okay give it to me straight, how badly did I fuck up? Dropped the mag and bent the metal casing over the bolt stop catch. Tried to bend it back and snapped clean off. Is it safe to still run it in the gun or is it gonna chew something up with that sharp edge? It doesn't look like it actually touches any moving parts but almost not worth the risk it seems.

Yeah this dude is so cool. So I have always been confused about this. I know AKs don't have a bolt catch as such but I did think the bolt locked on empty? Guess not.

Yeah I really don't understand why Marui only focus on the Japanese market. Like I get they do very well at it, but their shit sells out instantly when available elsewhere. Even if they don't want to handle much of it themselves they could surely just make supply easier for retailers and channel.

Yep the HAO is a masterpiece, no idea how you put the inner barrel in haha. But compared with the angry gun on price I just don't know anyone that can actually justify it. I am not a machinist by any measure, but surely the Hao is completely overpriced. I get making an IUR is a complex process but cmon, 1000????

Yep that's true each to their own, I will admit I didn't like the IUR/L119 at fist but it grew on me very quickly and I think for a RS weapon is a really clever solution as you get free float without having the big and bulky bolts between the hand guard and receiver like on MK18 and URGI. It is also probably better for retaining zero with lasers and if you want to mount red dots on the hand guard.

Oh yeah, no doubt it has it's pros just shame about the looks. I think the Colt Canada IUR is the best of both worlds. Very slim hand guard but still has the rails.

I Just got back into airsoft after a 7 year absence and was horrified to see all this M-LOK stuff haha. I think it is absolutely ugly but I get why it is popular. As chunky and heavy as a DD RIS is, I will take an old school MK18 any day.

Yeah it is the weird conundrum of sights for RIFs. Every cheapo red dot I have bought has suffered from horrible parallax. Maybe there are some good replicas out there but just got my Holosun and is a good medium ground between fancy optic but affordable.

Rate tactical kit highly, have had some good chats with them there. They go the extra mile. Tight bore for accuracy.

Could just have a 1v1 on rust?
