  1. Hi Moose, welcome to the site. I hope you realise that we will need photographic proof of you dressed in the naff seagull onesie? 😂
  2. Not pics but I've just picked up a, what looks like, brand new Viper tactical load bearing backpack from one of the local charity shops for £20! Got no use for it but wasn't going to leave it there 20 notes!
  3. Just purchased a couple of the above and have started looking at setting them up prior to their delivery. I've spent most of this morning on youtube watching UK specific videos but am still a bit confused. Can anyone recommend a decent guide, video or otherwise, to set up for airsoft use. I understand that the 16 PMR446 channels are for public use but do you, technically, need an OfCom licence to use them or is that for the other frequencies? I say technically need a licence as you should but I won't! Ta
  4. Don't know if there is another one but here's one I started
  5. Have you tried it on the charger, it looks like it will still fit ok.
  6. Just booked in to play here next Thursday evening. Anyone been lately?
  7. Not technically airsoft but it is a torch and we use torches! 😁 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/417120994627655/ £99 for a 'super rare' mini maglite ' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  8. Yes, I'd much prefer to buy face to face and have a large shop, reasonably close, ticks most boxes for me.
  9. I've got a WE P226 and my daughter has a TM. I rate mine over hers, just . . . . feels better. If you know what I mean.
  10. I was just going to say something similar. My G&G is very fussy but the Nuprol metal ones bloody fantastic.
  11. Apparently I'm now ranked as a Mentor! I think they've missed the De off the beginning!

  12. 2 games days to report on today as I've spent both mornings at different sites. Firstly on Saturday I, @sofieb, @LuckyBoi and a 4th played at Outpost Airsoft just outside Chester. Due to work commitments with 2 of the youngsters and me still only being able to manage a half day, we played just the morning. This is the 4th time I've played a morning here, 2nd for the 2 youngsters with work commitments and first time for the other hanger on. The mornings seem to run the same, a raise the flag on the long thin map and an attack/defend on the bunker map. Each map played twice from opposite ends. There was about 40 players, with a good amount of rentals. Game play was quick but a couple of the rentals couldn't quite get their heads around calling their hits and no full auto. There was quite a bit of negativity amongst the players about it but I know of 3 that reported the indiscretions to the marshals. Not sure how that played out as it was as we were walking back to the safe zone before lunch, so the end of our day. Overall though, It was a good morning. Good comms between my band of merry men, and woman, and lots of hits were given due to my now laser like pew. After talking to a couple of regulars about always playing the same maps, they told us different ones are used in the afternoon. An afternoon will have to booked. Apparently there are, I think he said, 17 different maps on the site which wouldn't surprise me as its huge. Secondly, today I played at Shropshire Airsoft War Games at Netley Hall just south of Shrewsbury. Again, I only played the morning but what a morning it was! I've no idea if there is more than the area we played on but with the double decker bus, vans, cars, caravans and every other kind of barricade imaginable. The ground was generally flat but there are trenchs, dips, rises and lots of rabbit/fox/badger holes. I do like flatter playing areas. First game was a standard tem death match with 'kills' being counted by a marshal as you respawned. We lost both rounds but on the second game it was very close! I'm happy with that. There was about 40 players with only 2 rentals, a young lad and his mum, so game play was fast with some of the best comms I have come across. Third game was raise the flag, we lost that one too but I don't really care. It really was one of the best days airsofting I've had. I've ran, or rather hobbled quickly, on both days which is a massive boost for me. I thought my recovery, from my broken leg, had plateaued but evidently not. Its now just making slow progress but any progress if good.
  13. Went back and adjusted my sight the other way last week. At around 40m its pretty spot on. 😁
  14. Anyone know what's going on at the above site? It is on my list of places to play this year but their website has gone down and the faceache page doesn't seem to have been updated in an age. I'm sure it was operational early on the year.
  15. Morning and welcome. I think you'll find yourself in good company here as we mostly seem to be old and out of shape. Where abouts do you play?
  16. I agree with @gavinkempsell. There are too many 'issues' (missing pins, ex 2 tone etc.) to ask anywhere new money. £130 is more realistic but expect lower offers.
  17. That's not a bad idea.
  18. Somehow it posted before I had finished typing! I blame my stupid fat fingers!
  19. Took my G&G to a private field today to try to zero in my clone Eotech. Essentially I have used it straight out of the box. Apart from the spring palaver! So, apart from using it in game, it's never been played with! So, I set the hop to zero, and fired a few shots and there was a bit of range but in a typical bowed downwards trajectory. Kept on turning it up, a little at a time, until it was nice and level ish with a little upward kick at the end. Put on the sight and it's shooting high so I adjusted the image up as much as I could but it is still shooting over the image at about 50 yards. I've just thought, I should have tried adjusting it down too! Anyway, apart from adjusting it the other way, any thoughts or is it new sight time?

@DanBow no, NTAH. Flexing on the poors? Maybe, but if someone thinks that £30 is too expensive to be sacrificial then I'd say airsoft is not the hobby for them.

@Skara thermal? Depending on nm range there is fairly inexpensive (relatively speaking) Germanium lens protectors on AliExpress.

Well you pay your money and take your chances, get lucky and your sight will have a full and rewarding existence.

If not you get a new sight and start again.

      Stay lucky @DanBow.....

I tend to use some form of protector on both my torches and optics - it's all rather cheap/easy to do, and doesn't affect the optics quality (at least in terms of typical airsoft use - and with the notable exception of the protector that I put on a replica eotech that warped the image so much it made it unusable). I buy a number of perspex ready cut discs in various sizes off ebay, and fit them to the front of scopes held in place by a flip up scope protector cap or a self adhesive ring of foam purchased from aliexpress, and on front of torches using a 3d printed collar. £1-2 per protector vs £30 or more scope...
