Another day at Outpost in Chester on Saturday with 7 of us. Me, my missus who was playing for the first time, my youngest and her boyfriend who was playing for the first time, 2 mates and my future son in law. Standard day playing standard games, capture the flag, attack/defend and some variatio s of the same. Great gameplay in the morning as there was about 10v10 so lots of movement with good comms and excellent hit taking. After lunch was a completely different kettle of fish though! 2 groups of first time rentals arrived, one group of young teens on a birthday party and a group on a stag day. They numbered about 20 between them and good game play, comms and hit taking went right out of the bloody window. I'll admit it was fun watching the kids screaming as they charged forward on the whistle but I, and some others, decided to stay at the back as we knew there would be lots of friendly fire as they were just too excited. We were right. Absolute blatant not calling hits and some of the younger getting upset and removing their eye pro but mostly was dealt with. So, fun but not as fun as it could have been.

Sorry for delayed update. . . . Put the original nozzle back in and changed the cylinder for the original too. The new cy6muat be fractionally bigger as the case now closes easier and the top strip slides on without the use of a hammer! It also shoots but only with the supplied hi-cap steel mag. Also, if I try to quickly single shot it, it dry fires every 3 or so shots but if I put it in auto it's fires fine! 🤷‍♂️ I bought a few mags at the same time, from different sellers, but none seem to work right. Looks like I'm going down the try every mag manufacturer until.i find what works again! I ended up with 16 m4 mags beforei found the metal Nuprol ones were best!

With the new aluminium nozzle, it was noticeably too big but the one in the video is the original. Hop rubber is a maple Leaf but doesn't seem to protrude off the barrel any more than the stock one. I'll swap it out for the original later and try again.

No. Tried that and no it doesn't It bounces out.

Don't think so. It still needs a good pull to attach it to the frame.

I bought it off here as an ICS so I presume it's all oem. Had to Google that! Lol No, not got one of those, just a standard gear. What you said about the fin getting worn makes sense as it is an old, well used rifle.

G'day chaps and chapettes, I've hit another problem with my AK74M. I've fitted the new piston set and compression is much better but now the BBs won't feed. At all! Set was piston, head, cylinder and nozzle from @ak2m4 After the bazillionth time of stripping and checking everything is sat properly in the gearbox, including that the gears were shimmed properly, I saw that the new nozzle is 19.7mm where as the old one is 18.8mm. So I put the old one back in but they still won't feed. Tried a full midcap mag and a fully wound high cap. So, after lots of head scratching and Googling there seems be an issue with ICS tappet plates. It's not snapped, which seems to be the main issue but do they become worn or can the start to bend over time? I'll strip it again when I get in from work tonight but thought I'd ask the hive mind for their opinion.

Bought this bad boy, off here, last week. It's an ICS AK74M. It's currently in pieces while I'm sorting out a feeding issue after upgrading the piston set.

No, its like a tiny piece of rubber tubing. Good call but it feels a little too rubbery for it to be heatshrink. This makes sense. After another look at the bucking I've taken off, you can see that it is deformed around the nub area. So I presume that it sat under the nub. Thanks all.

Good afternoon chaps and lady chaps, I've got my ICS AK74M in pieces to upgrade a couple of parts. The piston, head and associated bits are winging there way to me so as I had a Maple Leaf 60 Macaron hop rubber sat there, I've thrown it on. Now, I've took the hop unit apart and there is a spare bit that I've no idea where it goes . . So, part 1 will be replaced with part 2 but where on Gods green earth does part 3 go? ta

Had a day off, was bored and those bits of wood that you keep just in case turned into this . .

My sprogs and I popped in here today, just for a nosey. Very nice little shop with enough of just about everything you'd need. Cheap aswell. Oh, and there is a full time Time Crisis arcade machine in the shop that works! For 5 minutes I was 16 again.

I do do that too, shout good shot and give them a thumbs up. I'm sure it encourages a good attitude in the game.

I prefer mid caps as I hate the rattle of high caps. I'm not stealthy or anything, it just annoys me. Oh, and I kept forgetting to wind up high caps and wondered why it wasn't shooting anything! Lol I carry 6 mid caps but rarely use more than 3 or 4 per game.

Completely forgot to update this! Bought a standard m4 trigger off patrolbase and it, pretty much, all slotted together perfectly. It's back to shooting like a dream.
