Growing scarcity of a discontinued product has to be matched by high demand to warrant a higher price. Being "discontinued" was the rationale one fellow previously reported in this thread had used in an attempt to inflate the price of a glorified boneyard item from a failed relationship he seemed very bitter about.

What does everyone really think of kickingmustang
Galvatron replied to Mk46 Mod0's topic in General Discussion
He's a sadistic bastard who profits from causing misery and getting a rise by provoking people into a justifiably angry response. Deliberately making face/headshots when a large part rest of their body is exposed is bad sport. Emptying a full mag of an auto pistol on a player who has already called their hit then having a go later at another player doing the same to him is hypocrisy of the highest order. He could have taken it on the chin and said "I deserved that" or "That's karma getting me back" but instead he launched a verbal assault as if he had always acted in a virtuous manner. Singling out people who criticise him and calling on his followers to dox them is scumbaggery and cowardice. Short of stealing from other players, he could do little more to damage the image of airsoft to the layman. Boasting about the sites he's banned from isn't the flex he thinks it is. -
"Transform your electric pistol to a real beast of a weapon!" Can anyone explain to me how simply increasing number of rounds between refilling or changing mags transforms an AEP into a "real beast"?
-
He acknowledges that he made an impulse buy knowing he doesn't like the AK platform yet he wants retail price for a gun where we have no idea where it was stored and for how long? BNIB doesn't mean much for a cheap gun that's not all that collectable. I don't think this fellow knows how to take the loss of making a bad impulse purchase. You misunderstand. He is clearly selling it with the bag of illicit substances he was on.

In case it is actually programmable like one of G&G's systems for example, you have tried holding down the trigger with the mode switch set to semi for 10-15 seconds to fire 3-round bursts when the mode is switched to full-auto?
-
To play devil's advocate, if there's nothing in the box about how to programme the MOSFET/ETU, is it a programmable MOSFET? A basic MOSFET and ETU can be installed to help protect the trigger contacts from arcing and improve trigger response but not be programmable. I could be wrong about this particular RIF.

https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/25369-2-airsoft-guns-for-sale Lazy listing. No clarity that either of them works (I'll give the benefit of the doubt). Granted, I would still have to get the batteries and the gas but I can get the rifle and pistol also for £390 along with a warranty and peace of mind. https://extremeairsoft.co.uk/product/gg-cm16-srxl-desert/ https://extremeairsoft.co.uk/product/vorsk-eu17-tactical-gold/

4 guns that look like they were all ordered from BBGuns4less. All are worth less than £125 apiece and I doubt the scope is worth all that much. The seller wants £500 for the bundle.

~12.8mm inner barrel (unthreaded) to 14mm CCW adapter
Galvatron replied to Galvatron's topic in General Help
That looks perfect for a mock suppressor. I'd have to see if it can be added to the end of the outer barrel where it can be used with a tracer. Thanks! -
Welcome! There are a few who take skirmishes too seriously but I like to think most airsofters are a friendly bunch. Asking about their gun(s) is a good ice breaker in making new friends and acquaintances. Be warned that some will happily talk for England.
-
I'm on the hunt for a ~12.8mm bore barrel (no more than 25-30mm long) that can be secured with a ~2mm grub screw (or similar) where the other end has a 14mm male CCW thread. Does anyone have suggestions? The plan is the experiment with a TM FAMAS to fit a mock suppressor and/or tracer.

I would hope every new RIF/two-tone is usable from the box. Every non-boneyard RIF/two-tone I'd purchased in the early 2000s (except for a Desert Eagle springer) and this year have all been usable either for skirmishes and/or for plinking. The question is whether its usability is fit for what you want from it or if it needs tinkering to meet your requirements.

Being a member of a registered historical renactment group with the relevant insurance is another defence. Being a police officer or a member of the armed forces technically constitutes as you being a Crown servant (another defence) though you'd have to prove your purchase was relevant to your duties such as weapons training. While it seems like a crap rule, having to do a minimum of 3 games with the same skirmish site (not location) in no less than 56 days between the first and third game for a UKARA defence is to give the impression you are committing to airsoft with genuine and honest intent since you are investing time and presumably money. I was able to purchase one of my RIFs from a retailer before I got my UKARA defence because I signed up for a membership and like you, my conversation with the fellow working at that store showed that I was serious about playing and that I could talk about the days of skirmishing and buying RIFs before the VCRA came into force.

£100 for a £65-70 shotgun with a spring upgrade. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/23395-tri-shot-shotgun I'll give the benefit of the doubt it's the ASG version of the SPAS-12 since it has a red shell and not the even less expensive Double Eagle version (black shell) that will relieve you of less than £40.

If by Nuprol case, you mean the hard case, I use a soft rifle bag by them. https://nuprol.com/np-pmc-deluxe-soft-rifle-bag-42-camo.html Reasonably sturdy and plenty of pockets plus the compartment to put in two large-ish RIFs has a divider.
-
There's a much more reasonable listing on Airsoft Hub of the same brand & model. £85 (collection only) for the RIF in full working order and much better cosmetic condition plus it has 2 batteries and 3 mags.
-
Absolutely. The fact that he hasn't mentioned such a name is why the markup is questionable. On the subject of custom paintjobs, I present you this example.
-
"comes in a custom made display case" I cringe when people go on about something being "custom made" in that context as if that makes it worth more money. The custom-made case was made for his tastes and requirements so he paid for the labour and the sentimental value. That doesn't mean it's worth much to Joe Public. I would like to know the thought process or the smack required to mark up the value so much.
-
He could piss through the hole he's left by shooting himself in the foot so many times. His ego wouldn't allow him to take the criticism on the chin and now he's just inspired confidence not to buy from him. I'm curious why he didn't say explicitly that he had paid £170. In any case, it doesn't matter. It's like those people who paid well above retail for graphics cards in the crypto boom then insisted they get back more than retail on the card when that crypto bubble burst.

I did wonder what the point was of listing those prices. Many of them are closer to failing now than they would have been brand new. The argument of it being out of stock to justify the price is quite the reach. I don't imagine there is much demand for a less than cosmetically sound or fully functional RIF that had a low retail price to start with. He probably saw that because the TM SPAS-12 with the folding stock is hugely valuable now it's discontinued, he could therefore price his broken MP5K accordingly as it's also discontinued.

"Modified Honey Badgers" in what way? Just slapped on a PEQ box (are they laser & LED, LED only or battery box?), a hand grip and a 552 RDS to be "tacticool" or in addition to the previous ergonomic mods, a comprehensive list of internal upgrades were made to give some semblance of justification for the price? "Canadian Colt M4 with scope, modified...450fps" Modified to make it a hot AEG that a buyer would have to go to further expense and/or effort to make it legal or modified to safe or semi-auto only for a DMR? I won't understand those who want to charge what looks like a huge markup worth but they won't be clear about what they're selling and itemise the "modified" bits to inspire any confidence. At face value, £2500 would be generous, never mind £5000.

Full Airsoft Loadout - Manchester Based
Galvatron commented on refluxsprayz's advert in Electric Rifles
As you're new here, it may be worth addressing these questions/points so you don't get either bombarded with DMs that lead to nowhere or have people just walk away for a lack of clarity: 1) Do you do local pickup/meet only or do you offer postage in the within the UK? 2) Is the "free" CM16 in working order? 4 uses don't tell a fully story. I recently played alongside a fellow whose RIF stopped working the second time he fielded it. 3) Does the CM16 have its original flash hider or only the tracer in the photo? 4) What's the model of what looks like a 551 RDS? Does it have legitimate windage & elevation adjustment? 5) There are a few different models of GT in G&G's lineup. Are there more details on the left of the lower receiver? 6) Another picture with a note by the RIFs with your username and the current date would offer some peace of mind as you haven't built up feedback. -
It escapes me why anyone would pay that much for non-functioning RIFs with no idea of what's wrong with them. Unless you have spare parts to hand, it's probably less or the same price to just buy new with a warranty.
-
Very good day at Redcon-2 for me yesterday. My body's paying for the full workout that my fitness tracker estimated burning more than 3k calories in running and walking.
-
Do you have a close up of the lower receiver? It may give some idea of what the base RIF is but as others have said, being a custom build, it's going to be next to impossible to price without knowing which parts (internal in particular) are present and missing.
