I now have two RIF's running brushless, both 27k warheads. One is in my G3 stumpy and one is in my P90.
(one was in my AUG but its not well at the moment and i thought i'd have a change up)
One of the better moves in my tinkering career. I made a thread up where i was very much on the fence, like yourself. Have to say, i like the speed, longevity and the fact that it has more technology in it than the rest of the rif.
Especially handy in the P90 as theres bugger all space for a battery and now ive added the M4 mag adapter, its effectively a support weapon...

ADVENTURES OF BEING A BORN AGAIN BIKER......
Dropped it. Not in a lobbed it down the road way, i literally missed my footing on laid it down on its side. I developed superhuman strength and lifted it back on to the rubber bits.
Then spent three weeks sporting several strains and pulled things. HOLY CRAP theyre heavy.
Then i went out for a ride, started fishtailing down a hill, towards a junction as there was diesel all over the road after a split fuel tank had covered the road.
SHAT MA PANTS....
Still. All good fun...

What have i just bought? hmm.
Whilst on "holiday" in cornwall, we decided to go and find an airsoft shop. BR airsoft was found. went for a visit (great chap in there and very nice little shop too) and bought some of these CO2 granades, Hakkotsu apparently. Uses a CO2bulb and a plastic bottle to cause an ear splitting POP. I get that im probably about 3 years late to the party, as usual, but these are absolutely hilarious.
Tempted to fill with bb's and/or baby powder...
Got the 20+ year old TM G36C up and running, although i dont think i'll be skirmishing it anytime soon. Its a bit of a lump.

Great day at Apocalypse Kent yesterday, starting to have abetter understanding of the map now.
Took a mate with me so packed the MP5K, LCT G3 (its first outing) and WE SIG 226 for me an my spare MP5 and spare WE SIG 226 for my mate, with his favourite bit of kit the 1200 round drum mag.
Weather was good, not too hot but muggy towards the end. Shop well stocked and I picked up a big pot of BB's as my mate went full auto for most of the day.
First game was Bring your teams flag (Blue or Red) back to your base and then try and take the extra (Yellow flag) to your enemy's base as if it was an explosive and try and keep it there. Was a hot and heated game with Ghilles sending defenders back to re spawn at an alarming rate. Strange end to the game with the Blue team camped out in the Red base and Blue team camped out in the Red base, Red team won as they took the Yellow flag to the Blue base with them.
After lunch the Blue team had the honour of moving three explosive devices (big cases) to three locations to blow them up. It was tough as they had to do it in order and each box could only be carried by specific (marked) team memebers, if made it to two of the locations they won if the Reds could keep them out of two they won. Reds camped out in the first and second locations and picked off the case carriers. Blues got the first location but it was late in the game so win to the Reds.
There was a medical issue in the second game so while that was being taken care of the third game was moved to the village and run as a very tight, semi only CQB. Stick in a bucket in the middle of the village if it was Red at the top they won if it was Blue at the top they won. Blues were first into the village and held it for the first half of the game but the Reds flanked both sides and picked them off then covered the Blue route back from their respawn. Red win for this game and more critically the medical was sorted and guy was recovered to fight another day.
MP5K is still intermittently losing full auto and having feeding/consistency issues which needs a proper tech to sort as its above my pay grade. G3 shot well but it's a heavy lump for sub 350fps so needs DMR'ing quickly to make it worth the weight penalty. SIG was epic and used to great effect in the CQB game at the end. Mate loved the MP5 and as expected went full auto for the first two games and went to mid cap sticks for the semi only final game, I think he enjoyed the SIG but full auto is his thing I can see a LMG or mini gun in his future.
There were a few called out for not taking hits but I think it was mostly shooters overestimating their skill (and range) and calling players out at 70m where there was no chance of them making the hit with a 1j AEG. A few Ghilles made the game tough so my rule of shoot at any bush that moves worked quite well.
Fun day had by all!!
Hope to get my EBB AK back from the menders this week
Crack on and get the G3 booked in and built
MP5K is going back tomorrow as its still under warranty
I was speaking to Jon, the site owner about getting some of the other game areas up and running again as the site is massive and they only use about 1/10 of it!
If you look on the map by the punch bag, there's an area called "jeep". That's a killer cos its more hills but a damn good game.
The medical was a guy with the onset of heat stroke apparently. all sorted though. The Marshalls are pretty good at sorting stuff like that.
Me and my two boys were supposed to go up but i got the teenage whine and no one ended up going, but at some point in the next two weeks I'm making damn sure to get down there!!!
You been up to his shop yet in fawkham/brands?

OOOOhhhhh, that striker.... ?

Cheers for the offer @BigAlbut I think I've Frankensteined it.
The cm16 looks a bit odd but it's only for when the kids bring a mate along, so I'm not too worried.
The m904g probably needs a new classification now though. ??
Just a bit of rattle can and that'll look the nuts.
Thanks for the guidance (again!).
I'll get the hang of this tech malarkey eventually ???
Now, where's my cigars.....?

Definitely showing my age there ??
Between that and the "Ooooh Geordie" tango advert....ahh Thems were the days! ??

Cheers Lozart, that's kinda what I was after.
The OEM stuff I was referring to is the bits that people take off and fit the Carlos Fandango version. ?
I'll buy something shortly and see if I can't ruin a perfectly good rif. ??

So... My DE M904G. Shes awesome in every way. Only i'd like to make her longer.
Size envy, if you will. Its a man thing.
So, having scoured the ads on here a LOT, i have come to the conclusion i have no clue what im doing. Gearboxes? fine. barrels and hops? yup, all good.
Handguards? ooooh dear. no clues.
So the DE badger has a little nut that, when you turn it, expands, locking the handguard in place (mostly) then theres 4 little stealth screws that, once youve painted your rif, become nigh on impossible to notice, causing much irritation...
My questions are these....
Can i fit a longer handguard from anything? assuming i need the "nut" as well?
Longer outer barrels should fit the receiver and do up with the original nut?
Obviously its going to need a longer INNER barrel, that bit i can do without confusing myself.
Where is all the OEM stuff hiding after everyone has fitted a daniel defence doodah with bells and whistles? (who is daniel, and why does the man need so much stuff to defend himself????)
I'm guessing its going to need the dremel and some thinking.......

Just a quick update and a glimmer of hope to those who worry about doing stuff to aeg's, I had about 30% confidence in this m4 but we took it out on Saturday to a skirmish and other than one of the mags playing up and not feeding properly, it worked a treat. Went through chrono fine as the spring had settled and enough hop on a 0.28g to be decently accurate.
Happy days.
On to the g36....?

Well today I finally got to have a decent look at the TM G36C that I got a while ago.
Love the fact that it still has the "heavy weight" 0.25's in the packet and the bag of "don't shoot the dog" documents.
It shoots, it's probably ok as a cqb, it has a torch holder on the right hand side so I think it's done most of its work indoors.
I think this is from around 2000ish. ??

People not selling the exact part I need so I have to go back to looking for really weird bits for my broken pews. ?
(Although to be fair I'm slowly depleting Mr huttarmouries pile of bits ??)

@Egon_247Threw me for a second. TM did a boys series of rifles. Basically cheap less detailed low power scaled down rifles.
Thats cool.
Maybe i should hunt down its little brother and have a matching pair
Just need to find some space on the wall of toys now...running out of space!!

Ooooh. Yeah. Baby.
So I poked about a bit more and found that the barrel moved back and forth in the hop chamber, which isn't great obviously. So I cleaned it up with ipa and added a couple of turns of Ptfe tape to the outside of the rubber. Put it all back together and boom.
1.317J on a 0.28g. a touch too high granted but it feeds. It shoots.
May have overdone the spring ?
I'll get some pics up in a bit of it in all it's annoying glory.
Thank you guys. Always helpful to those with silly pews...❤️❤️??

I have a zci rotary in it now. the original was missing along with the barrel.
It fits, its tight against the gearbox and the foregrip. it definitely aint moving!
I have a concern though. just been doing the googles and it appears that MOST m4 nozzles are 21 point something long.
the one that's in it is a 20.7mm. i wonder if the original owner tried to do things and put in the wrong nozzle.
I mean, the tappet plate was wrong, so why wouldnt the nozzle be.
Ok, back to the drawing board...best go and buy some nozzles...
-
This is slowly becoming a wall hanger. Shame really, its a nice pew.
Theres no space for a spring in front of the hop unit, o rings wont fit either. the nozzle is clearing the feed tube but i'm not sure its going far enough forward to seal on the hop rubber. Cant remove any material from the hop unit to bring it back further as the mag wont fit....
catch 22....
has anyone actually done this or am i attempting to bring a corpse back from the dead?
-
And almost a year to the day..... I chewed up the threads on the outer barrel...the Cherry bomb muzzle doodad is now all floppy and no one likes a floppy cherry bomb....
Where can i get an outer barrel? do others fit?
-
Did you find one?

I have a JG SD, it's about 15 years old, done many MANY rounds through it and it refuses to die. Only recently done some work on it, a tad on the fiddly side but once you get the hang of it, it's fine.

More blank firers being banned.

I was given some blank firing reps a while back, someone i knew found them in the loft while having a clear out. So i contacted kent plod, cos i dont like blank guns anyway but i wanted to know if they wanted to take them. The guy on the chat bot thing must have had a heart failure when i said i had two peacemaker type things and an AK looking rep.
Well, i say AK looking rep, if you got a 7 year old to draw an AK, thats what it looked like.....
So plod turn up, the first bloke, nice enough as he was had ABSOLUTELY no idea what he was looking for and was just there to wait for the ARU that was on its way.
After a cuppa and a chat, the ARU lads turned up, had a look, told me they were fine (albeit they looked down the gas tube of the AK, which kinda made me chuckle) and i could keep them.
I didnt want them. NEITHER DID THEY!!! LOL.
SO i did the only thing i could think of and gave them to the site i play at so they could either use them in a game or cut them up into scrap.
Still got the ring door bell shot somewhere of the two ARU guys with very nice Glocks, standing at my door.
