To be fair, 450mAh is tiny - which gun was this in? I can happily (well, reasonably happily - it's a squeeze) get a 2200 7.4v nunchuck battery in the front handguard of my Cyma MP5 - which looking at your list might have the tightest battery space of your current guns..?

Ah, got you. I notice they have built an outdoor CQB complex there too - looks really good, but they never seem to use it on Wednesday nights. Does it get used on the Sundays? If so, any good? -

I'm sure that you won't be disappointed. It's tightly run, and there is minimal waiting between games - so once the games get going (circa 7:30 after the briefing), you actually pack quite a lot of game play into an evening (finishes just before 11pm). One guy had some form of night vision last night - said that it wasn't hugely helpful due to depth perception issues - and to be fair, i can imagine it might be more hassle than its worth in that sort of environment where everything is very up close and personal. Definitely worth a try though - you may be onto a winner! Due to the nature of the place, lots of opportunity for torches and optics to get shot out, so I'd advise a protector on the NV if you do bring it. Only downsides of the place in my view is that they lock the car park gates (they wish to sign everyone in and out for safety reasons/making sure no one is left lying unconscious in a cupboard at the end of the night etc) - laudable, but when you have a 45 minute drive home, waiting 15 minutes at 11 pm for a marshal to come and unlock the gate is just a bit irritating.... -
To echo the above, I have one particular replica - bought on this forum second hand that shoots great (at AEG limits), is really snappy, and doesn't sound like the gearbox is badly shimmed. But I always need to take a spare battery into a game with me when i use it - for some reason it gets through a battery (to the point where the gearbox locks up) in under an hours skirmish - whereas other 350fps rifs I use will happily run off the exact same battery for 2-3 hours. But ultimately, if we can afford a spare Lipo to bring with us (and lets face it, these days they are pretty cheap - especially with Hobbyking having reopened in the UK), it's possibly a bit of an academic discussion!

Superb evening last night at Invicta Blacksite (CQB). The changes they have made in the past few months to the layouts, including knocking more crawl holes through walls etc have really helped ease choke points and allow some sneaky indoor flanks! Great fun, good game play, and as ever, easy to strike up a conversation and rapport with the regulars and newbies alike. Cracking way to spend a Wednesday evening which would otherwise have been alternatively spent inevitably falling asleep in front of youtube nonsense. But my god those finger and neck hits still hurt today! -
I bought a Krytac CRB as my first gun after a fair bit of research. I now have a bit of a collection and rotate my guns so they all get a go every now and then. I've never opened it up, and the range and reliability stock has been superb. It just keeps soldiering on. I think the overspin problem that people talk about is when they put a high speed/torque motor in- never had an issue with the stock (UK spec) Krytac motor. As above though, whilst I can't fault the Krytac, these days there are plenty of great options that are a touch cheaper- specna, cyma platinum (but run on a 7.4 lipo to be gentle to the MOSFET), double eagle etc.

I've possibly misunderstood what you are asking here - but i have always run a ZCI plastic hop unit, complete with ML Macaron (and i think likely, an omega nub but i can't quite remember)+the original barrel in my UTR 45. Out of the box i was getting weirdly inconsistent power and hop (entirely unusable), so had to switch out the hop etc . And its been absolutely fine ever since....

All I can tell you is that when I purchased mags a few years back for my We F228 ( i.e. the non railed version of the F229), the mags I bought were specifically marketed as being f228/f229 mags. Which leads me to think that potentially a 226 mag may not be compatible. But that said, I didn't think that the 228/229 had a shorter or different grip to a 226 (unlike e.g. a glock 19 Vs 17), so it might be something as inconsequential as the aesthetics of the baseplate. Also, appear in stock here: https://www.dkarmaments.co.uk/product/we-f228-f229-magazine-black-gbb/ And here: https://www.ammodrop.co.uk/we-24-round-magazine-for-f228-gbb-black Etc

You are absolutely right of course. If ever there was a useful selling point for UKAPU or similar, this would be it. For a very low outlay, they could take out a licence, and then advertise the ability for their members to use the frequencies assigned to them.... Albeit, I confess to never having heard of anyone successfully prosecuted for using a Baofeng on PMR446 frequencies - that's not to say that it hasn't happened.
-
Afraid not - I've ordered a front end for an SR15, M4 body, Pistol Grip, and buffer tube in a single order (but as separate parts) - i.e. everything that is a Rif bar the stock - and it got through customs fine, packaged nicely, and arrived after a week or so. But I've not ordered a full Rif before from there. If you decide to, let me know how you get on!

Waco’s guide to field sustainment
The_Lord_Poncho replied to The Waco Kid's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
A cunning trick to adding more tie off points (e.g. to tie the centre of a tarp up if there isn't a sewn in loop provided, or to repair an eyelet that has torn out), is to use a small pebble, nut, coin or similar on the underside of the trap., then gather the fabric around it, and tie off against the 'neck' of that. -
Are teams with red armbands in the disadvantage?
The_Lord_Poncho replied to ParHunter's topic in General Discussion
Red arm bands, i wouldn't say put you at a disadvantage - but orange vs green - very much so! OP - looks like your bands in the pic are orange rather than red?! At my site, there is always a scramble to get the oldest and dirtiest bands when the crate of them comes out! I think two bands should be the norm. One on each arm; or one on the front, and one on the rear of webbing/plate carrier. As i wear a viper hood fairly regularly, placing them on the front and rear of my chest rig means they don't become hidden by the viper hood - and remain just as visible as if they are on the upper arms i think. Whilst i have a degree of sympathy with Ghillies putting them on their ankles for cam reasons, I have no qualms in shooting them if, after a reasonable amount of effort, I remain unable to see their bands.... And actually, this is usually mentioned as a viable action during my usual sites briefing. -
This Thread might be handy for you: Many good options, cheap (but good) baofengs can be had for under £15 - on the likes of aliexpress - e.g. the venerable UV5R, or the newer UV13 pro - just make sure that you take the time to programme them to frequencies that aren't going to annoy people (i.e. PMR446).

It's one of my local sites, and generally my go-to site for the past few years - appears tighter run than several others that i have been to, and I do feel that my eyesight is somewhat safer there than in many other safe zones that I have experienced. The barrel sock rule always catches out people that go there first time, and I regularly hear the marshalls pointing it out to people and sending them to the shop to collect one for a deposit, but generally all well natured. It caught me out the first time I went there - and prompted me to sew up a load of them over the next week or so after. To be fair to them, they regularly remind people about the requirement over the (slightly annoying at times) speaker system too. I've been there approx twice per month for a few years - only ever spotted agro once with players shouting at each other (Why? What's the point? If people are getting that het up and aggressive in their play that everything matters THAT much, they probably need to take a long hard look at themselves and choose a weekend hobby that is more suited to their temperament such as trolling B list celebrities on twitter or something), and that time I saw the marshalls doing a pretty good job of de-escalating in a friendly manner. I quite like the owner actually - definitely has opinions about things, and I certainly don't always share those opinions. But that's fine, and indeed, that's life... I find it nice that he cuts about the safe zone, asking people how they are getting on, providing advice to the newbies, and generally being present. Not something that all owners do...

It would be interesting to know if those same sites have a ban on semi auto shotguns - in my head at least, just having three barrels sat right next to each other, discharging 3 shots with every pull of the trigger is no different. Certainly the scope for dishing out/receiving pain is the same!

Well Mb03 bolt not catching!
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Philhooper2024's topic in Single Action Guns
Sorry, i'm not going to have time to give you anything comprehensive - but it is the rear of the piston that i filed off, not the sear itself (which could weaken it). Just a few mm was enough for me. But note that it may be a different cause in your case - it would be interesting to compare the length of your original piston with the replacement one first. -
Well Mb03 bolt not catching!
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Philhooper2024's topic in Single Action Guns
It's a different platform admittedly, but on my MB01 when I added in a new piston, I also had the same problem as you describe. My problem was that the piston wasn't quite able to move back far enough in the cylinder for the sear in the trigger unit to pop up and then catch and hold the corresponding ridge around the piston. It was a few years back, but from memory, it was very easily solved in my case by using a metal file to remove a few MM thickness of metal off the rear of the piston so that it could move further backwards in the cylinder. -
Are the new Toxicant conversion kits classed as RIFs?
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Airsoftt's topic in UK Law
I successfully received an AR receiver, an AR style outer barrel with hand guard/flash hider fitted, a buffer tube, and a grip all in the same package from Hong Kong, but each item was separate - i.e, it wasn't assembled into a RIF. That one got through without UKARA on the outside of the package - but i was nervous! I'm not sure if the toxicant kit is sent assembled or not? -
I'm not familiar with that AEG, but from the pictures available, i looks like your rear sling mount (that hole in the rear stock near the hinge) is for a QD ('quick detach') type sling mount - e.g. one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191416931239?itmmeta=01HRS006PWDK24CSJ6RNEVRYRK&hash=item2c915693a7:g:~HAAAMXQlgtS78w6&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwJCTAfVE4%2BW0bpBhE4aIa%2BPp4TsNVv0fdi03cAE9IuIa6rQAlyJAyx%2BauRN3LiGg8g%2Fefh%2Bx8mkUZ5iY3IkQgk%2FwaqUocXjkz%2FaN%2BrgdK63F6PeslH9QzlCgwSt%2BZcGeVRX7KBwUcLJaOR5se2TGTqGzPKsXSc%2FVi80Zcb0Mx7%2BWWAvv6HtyxDpMRLfRkVIp63hjfb1jpDUWzveZ64zIEbVlvPOWyJTgsxu30OjoDvr7TNLa%2B3bokCWO%2BHoFsbN99A%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9zrgKDGYw The mount on the front is a little odd - looking like it sticks out in front of the front sight rather than to the left like a usual AK. I might be tempted to use paracord to form a little loop through it, that would then be more forgiving an angle to clip the front of your sling into it - e.g. using an HK style clip: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285181190667?itmmeta=01HRS0A5Q5AV2HS9VK1YBZQZ8Z&hash=item42661fa20b:g:hLgAAOSwci9j~hlF&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwDRlQlHXZKHC93UCmme84kgQjGrfZL1fNuPAyS2HaWn2L8mXQ8Mnp%2Fwn5x3%2FR2JgHGpGOlfVQdCUjGqxMWzNciQiMuKBYZt25rO06JoZ7Vk4IbjlJesHKdt1DLS2mjbfx%2BcfbOnjdG7gc1%2F2WyYGeutRcJElNvmzaMzVDzfmEfOC%2FRN5nla360%2BftIKf%2BUgzSDmiGZLVETnIr0hYFW0%2BLMXBthdxz3L%2FlFOui3qTg2ouDQsb950lNdo18V4jssV9nA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR97bqKDGYw A neat set of knots you could try for the paracord loop would be a double fishermans bend - youtube will be your friend - ultra secure, and very tidy. edited - as I forgot to add that with those two attachment points sorted out, you could then pretty much use any two point sling you liked. I've made all of my slings out of 25mm webbing tape, a combination of the above attachment points, and triglide buckles that allow be to fix and remove the attachment points for use on other AEGs. I've also made adjustable two point slings, again you tube will assist. Making slings is super easy, and costs pennies - especially if you cut all the handy plastic buckles off old rucksacks before you bin the rest of the bag!

Welcome along. I'm not that far from you. I suspect that my regular sites will become yours!

I suspect that the OP would be very unlucky if the retailer were ever to know that a few bits have been out and then popped back in of course (apart from via this thread!) - unless they haven't been put back in correctly. I'd be inclined myself to watch a few videos, check i had reassembled correctly, and if it still doesn't work, sending it back to the retailer as it would be faulty - and morally, that fault unlikely to be anything to do with temporarily removing a few elements that are designed to be modular/replaceable...

Sub £100 bolt action - worth buying?
The_Lord_Poncho replied to ibo7's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I have two Well MB01 (L96) (actually one is an MB08, but that's just a different stock design - same working parts). One shot acceptably well of of the box, and could actually be fielded as a vaguely competitive rifle. The other, out of the box, was utterly put in the shade by every one of my GBB pistols, and required a few hundred spending on it to get it very good. So - at that price range, pure luck of the draw! That said, nothing ventured, nothing gained, and if it turns out it needs updgrading, that's pretty fun. For plinking, you still want something relatively accurate, otherwise there isn't any real point to it. I'd venture that, given the inherent accuracies of even the most amazing airsoft platform, you would have more plinking fun with the fast fire capabilities of a GBB or AEG, at closer range, and focusing more on speed etc. -
Good thread - watching this with interest!

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
The_Lord_Poncho replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
A great day yesterday at Dog Tag. I took a whole load of rentals there in the morning - who seemed to have a good laugh despite the rental G36's having pretty dodgy performance (the site really does favour guns that can land hits at long range, and the effective range of the rental guns seemed pretty poor to be honest). We played a few fields that I hadn't played on before (the last time I visited the site was a good few years ago now) - possibly due to the waterlogging issues that @Impulse mentioned in his post earlier. During the morning fall back games (attackers have unlimited spawns, defenders only get one life per field and have to fall back to the next once taken out) once again some confusion over people shooting across boundaries from the subsequent fields that weren't yet in play occurred - both the field boundary marking, and the briefing/direction that marshals gave could possibly have been improved upon. No major issue though, and hit taking was good from what I saw. The rental masks that the site issued out to my companions incorporated mesh for the goggle section - which, despite some peoples misgivings, I think makes a lot of sense for a rental. The likelihood of a BB shattering on mesh, and fragments penetrating with enough retained velocity to do harm would seem an awful lot lower than the likelihood of a frustrated kid lifting his rental mask mid game to wipe the fogging out. In the afternoon, the numbers dropped right down to mainly regulars (plus me!) and no rentals at all - 11 per side. And, along with the sun being out for the first time in forever, it was one of the most enjoyable aisofting sessions I've had in a very long time. Game play was great, the games active, and people were talkative and sociable - exactly how airsofting should be. And the old faithful Krytac that I ran post lunch was giving me more BB's on target than the SR25 that was providing my arms a workout in the morning. -
Humpin’ junk in ya trunk. The butt pack!
The_Lord_Poncho replied to The Waco Kid's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Back in the days of black and white when I wore british 58 pattern webbing, the rear Kidney Pouches suffered from the same issue. The solution then was to put everything in a plastic tub, and then inside the pouches. I'd imagine a more up to date solution would be to use a small canoe sack/stuff sack to keep it all together, and reduce the likelihood of bits falling out.
