Seems the new Orions are no better than my standard V2 then. Still, would that red one be worth the £90 if only for the cylinder, Titan and trigger? Tye can be transplanted once again when the time comes? Would only be running git at standard AEG limits.

Itching to get her zeroed in - might sneak down to my brother's whilst he and his missus are away and take advantage of their massive back garden LOL.

No QD kills that one off as an option really. I take your website stock levels are accurate? I was looking at that red gearbox... Quite like the look of the Titan with "low ammo warning" etc. But is the Orion a decent platform now? The broken box is not the Orion, just a standard V2.

It's two years old now and skirmished in all weathers. I suppose a little WD40 or GTwhatever wouldn't go amiss.

I think I got the equivalent of a day's skirmish out of it once you factor in the swapping around the other pews.

Spring, shimming and air seal were done at the same time as repairing it when the tappet spring went pop. So a case of too much at once. ? Indeed, once basic upgrades, then essential repairs are added up, there's a shiny new TM in there somewhere - but then it wouldn't be airsoft, and this is my first pew. So there is a bit of sentimental value there too. Thinking back, not much needed doing to the gun out of the box bar shimming, and air seal. Once operational again, I might try the OEM spring again and see just how much the shim and seal would have done on it's own.

If you're thinking about using it at the new place - talk to Carlos first as I think bang bangs will be limited - at least at first.

It is as it came from Specna, and the older version of their box so I doubt it. I suspect it is my fault by putting in a larger spring (although it was within joule limits when chrono' d); and/or a brief and brave morning with an 11.1 battery. The last time it worked "properly", it was shooting like a laser. But hindsight is 20-20 as they say. I was trying different springs - an M120, and M110 (which I think was in it before) and the one it was shipped with. @ak2m4 don't seem to have much in stock which is a shame - I wasn't planning on blowing £140 on a gearbox shell, so open to suggestions from the panel on what may be a more sensible option. Patrolbase have the Orion gearbox in stock-ish so wondering if they have sorted it out since Luke panned it a few years ago, they also have the Delta Armory one. Then there's the "Ultimate Gearbox Version 2", but I can't seen what it's made of.

Happy New year chaps and chappesses. Got back from the land of the little people so feeling a bit zoned out. Thought I'd have a look at my beloved Specna as it sounded awful last game day and wasn't feeding. Was hoping it was the tappet spring again but no: So that's Donald Ducked. The two spare boxes i have dont quite fit for different reasons, so off to Cage Airsoft it goes for dealing with it (wiring harness is fecked too). Looking forward to a skirmish day, but Spec Ops isn't open until Feb, so maybe South Herts or AWA. Hope everyone had a good break?

Here's a linky to my spreadsheet - not been updated in a month or so, btu gives you and idea of costs/brands. Not had a problem with any I have actually bought from the list - and I tend to buy from the cheaper options of the weights I use. https://1drv.ms/x/s!AiqaVyI38h9UhYAGXkM9Do-WsxZLmg?e=3TaB0q -

Finally got the look I wanted for the l85 thanks to @gavinkempselland @MandalShArK. Bought an "Elcanish", then a small red dot. I had to re thread the holes on the mounting plate to accept something recognisable, but that wasn't a chore. Bought a kill killflash too which works better than I expected. Will do some festive fettling looking forward to the new year. -
How many friends are we talking? Can this be a justified purchase with SWMBO? We keep saying we need backups for our backups.... Now you need pews for your pals - and they of course will need backups too. Just saying.

Real Steel day today - had a good run too with decent stands. The ol' man was not having such a good day despite getting a two for one shot on his very first Pull. One stand had a low flying incomer that had its black underbelly facing you as it came out of the shade - so he had no chance with is ropery vision and was shooting the grass ten feet in front of him. His new shooting name is "Weed Whacker". LOL. Ended up beating him by 7 shots. ? -
You fucker.....you put that scope on there just to spite me.....didn't you. DIDNT YOU! ?
-
Yeah, I showed both him and my nephew this essential instructional video years ago. Haven't quite worked out where SWMBO falls on the chart, but she's never been below a 6 six crazy.

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread

Didn't have an airsoft day as such, but spent a solid 8 or 9 hours helping Carlos with the new CQB site. We were building a structure all day - well one side of it anyway - and forgot to stop for lunch. Good discussions and stories exchanged as well as talking about what types of games to play in the new place as well as a different kind of "warm up" game for the regular site. Poor chap has a lot of work ahead of him to be ready for the opening next year, so I hope the regulars of Special Ops appreciate the effort and money he's putting into it when it opens. He has a model of the final layout showing a good mix of buildings and open areas, so, even though I'm not a great CQB person, I think this will have something for everyone except Bush Wookies and DMRs. Looking forward to some pistol and shotgun games. Plus it's slightly nearer my gaff too. -
The OP might like The Ridge near Barton le clay. It's the most "open" field (not a map) I can think of. https://booking.riftairsoft.com/game-site/13#upcomingGames It's a strange site (definitely not a map) as it's used as a 4x4 course too and they don't have regular days. It is a quagmire after heavy rain which is why they don't have many days in the winter. Their Abingdon field (comprehensively not a map, but they are available on request) is also pretty open. https://booking.riftairsoft.com/game-site/14 The boy and I had great fun their on their Battlesim Lite day.

I've been married to her for 20 years....Trust me I know. ? I'm not entirely sure if she's talking to me at the moment either.

It wouldn't be good for it that's for sure. I have an Odin (for when I eventually grow up and move to midcaps) with a silicone liner and I use that to refill my hicaps using the thumb and forefinger funnel technique. Most annoying thing is when you forget to close the lid on the magazine or odin and throw a tenners worth of BBs on the floor.

They all are..... have you met your mother?
