  1. A bit of Stanley knife action and screw driver for leverage got the mp5 stock off, I'll scrape what I can of the remaining residue, sniper tape over it and job done.
  2. Mk23 from Action Hobbies boneyard for £17 - just have to remove the franken-jobbed mp5 stock. And a set of 3d print furniture for a Mk23 bought on ebay for £31. So gives me something else for an opfor loadout for not a lot of money (once I scrape the glue and stock off)

    LCT AK

Hi there, looking for a price guide on my LCT AKMS Stock internals, black polymer pistol grip, wood handguard set (some marks/bb ding) shoots about 290 fps on .25s. I have swapped gearboxes on this and put my upgraded gear box back into my other AK. This is just a stock LCT gearbox and internals without a quick change spring system. On reassembly I did have an issue which I asked for feedback here: however, without further tinkering and a mid caps worth of bbs through it today the issue 'resolved' to just staying in semi when going back up to automatic fire. Auto, works when going down from safe. Other than that one of the cables going into the battery connector can be a bit loose. Recommend wire to Deans. Solid RIF, and sturdy folding stock. Would I be mental asking for £225 before post and fees? Ideally I'd like to keep the handguards in which case I'd be looking for £200 before post and fees for a 'bare' RIF. Any of that sound reasonable. Only reason for sale is I'm looking to diversify away from just AKs. For some reason my forum posts are limited in file size, so I can't attach a pic of the RIF.
  4. Put together an LCT AK after swapping gearboxes between RIFs, after faffing around getting the selector in the right place for semi/auto safe. I have the issue that when going from Semi back up to automatic the trigger depresses but the motor does not engage - to get engagement I have to go back to safe and then back to auto/semi. Any ideas?
  5. Honestly better just getting a different Cyma or as BigStew says, get an alternative cyma lower receiver. If it's anything like the LCT AIMS you can only have the wire folder stock or an alternative is an M4 buffer tube stock
  6. I have an LCT AIMS, which I have the LCT buttstock adaptor for. Just change the handguards for polymer, put on a dovetail scope mount and add the correct stock, sounds like it would match nicely to the pic
  7. Thought this one was pretty hopeful. For £1000 you're pretty much paying retail/more for what they're selling. Probably at most £600 at second hand prices.
  8. Derailing slightly. Is there an upto date list of milsim event organisers other than Stirling / Filmsim. Looking for more events for 2024. On the subject of fire teams, I've found at best you might be able to nudge other players into a direction you want, but anything like a coordinated section attack in a skirmish day with randoms is almost impossible. Like others have said, personally If I've paid to play, the last thing I want is having some trumped up ex-cadet shouting like a Colour Sgt.
  9. Most of mine are almost readily available in the classifieds, just can't justify the purchases at the minute. Wood stocked Ww2 rifle: Garand/Kar98k GBBR Thompson B.A.R Flux Raider build pistol G3 with sliding stock Something that hasn't been made - DP-28 Machine gun. My current build will hopefully be a UK unique AK, but time will tell if I'll get it to look how I want it. And it will need a HPA engine to operate.
  10. Too many to list, bit had a browse through Bespoke Airsoft's boneyard. Prices seem too high for 'mystery problems' / 'possibly missing pieces'. Personally I wouldn't want to pay more than 1/3 original RRP. Similar to PBs boneyard pricing, probably why they've had the same 12 RIFs for months.
  11. Maybe the for sale price is so high for them to justify the amount of raffle tickets. But overall seems dodgy. Could just be the price that's 'fully upgraded'.
  12. Cyma 28u for sale at £20 more than can be bought new from Patrol Base. £40 more and you're into second hand LCT/E&L money. But it's ok, the seller bought it from his local reputable airsoft shop who were kind enough to sell him 'the upgrade battery'. I'm guessing the £160 gets all their money back.
  13. Fair one, the one I thought of was at this link: https://soldiersystems.net/2022/10/24/sneak-peek-sig-sauers-hunter-project-rifle-for-uk-ranger-regiment/
  14. There's plenty more source material/imagery of the actual rifle online. So them using an angled shot will give them an excuse to be less than accurate. Being a Sig, is the G&G 16 actually a good base rifle? Sorry to derail the thread further. Should probably have its own in the news section or DCA dreamers.
  15. Maybe around the £275 mark (worked out at 1/2 to 2/3rds of RRP) assuming the torch is a repro and the side mount is an LCT ZB-13 zenitco style rail. Maybe I'm smoking crack/maybe not, ultimately put it up and see what you get offered If you're after more.
  16. Yeah, I'm definitely not writing the site off my list. It's convenient, good facilities and the game zone itself suited my style of play. I had a few good trades and got the drop on a couple of people , as did others on me.
  17. First time at Driver Wood. Just went for an afternoon session, £20, not too bad. Safe zone is good, albeit hectic because they had airsoft, airsoft 'beginners' and it seemed 2 lots of paintball. So lots of people, I left most of my kit in the car. Safety brief was concise and quick, and team ID was via 2 x armbands - so no sneakily hiding an arm out of sight. Initial game brief was good, and I sort of followed the crowd because I didn't know where any locations were. Took a few good ambush hits and went back to re-spawn. Whilst I was meandering back in to play I'd missed an altercation between an apparent 'site regular' (40ish year old) and a younger player - who's brother then weighed in. I witnessed or heard none of it, and others may give an eye witness account. But ultimately it resulted in the players being booted out and banned. Worse still the older gent decided he'd wait outside the site to continue the argument, the last I overheard from the marshalls were the 2 brothers had 'filled him in'. All over a heated exchange of plastic pellets, pretty pathetic. After that it took a while to get going again, with poor communication between the marshall team/players. Second game was less punchy but there were a group on the green team, that some orange players said were not taking hits. First day of pewing since early May, and it's reminded me why I tend to stick milsim/battlesim. Shame because the site is only a 25 minute drive from the girlfriends.
  18. My recommendation for imperium is to go to the ground war day. I really like the site, but get frustrated on skirmish days. Due to the sites size and effectively 2 game zones - it can be like herding 200 cats in and out at the end of games, it's taken upto 20/30 minutes. Ground war is just a morning and afternoon game, if players need extra ammo etc, take it to respawn, or go back to the safe zone under their own steam. Make use of the vehicle mounted MGs if they're working, but they are BB magnets.
  19. Nothing too exciting this month, just a Cyma railed AK gas tube on my LCT AIMS. Tempted to swap the outer barrel/gas block/front sight for an AK104/5 length for a Romy Draco build. Aside from that saving for my next AK build, which will have to utilise a Gas RIF because I can't see how I'll build what I want with an AEG and get it to work. Any want to trade a brand new Lego Millenium falcon 75192, for a GHK AKM? ?
  20. Filling the void of no pewing for a few months (bloody work shifts) by tinkering with my AKs. Put my RPK back to wood stock and put a folding stock on my AK. Keeping the side folding reciever because I know I'll want to put it back on an AK in the future. Next pewing will be first weekend of August at Battle Lakes. May have to say goodbye to the RPK within the year due to a possible move to London as a mature student. So I need to give it a good few run outs.
  21. Think that's pretty hopeful for an externally basic Cyma AK. New in stock upto £250, with the magazines being about £10-12 new and a railed gas tube being £16.99 and battery. Save maybe £35 over buying it all new.
  22. I think omega3squadron sounds healthier.
  23. As far as I'm aware the main DDPM regular issued packs are the one above, the Karrimor ECM pack and a mortar carrying variant of the one above, I'd assume there'd be a medic clamshell type pack also. Not seen a bergan, probably just cheaper to issue out a DDPM bergan cover like you've seen and put that over a standard DPM bergan. SF may have had DDPM bergans, if they're out there they'd come up on fleaBay I guess with the appropriate "genuine SF issue, rare, I know what I've got" pricing. Any other kit you're after?
  24. It's got far too many rails/mods for a FAL. Needs an angry sweary 4 x divorced platoon sergeant attached to one end and that's it. I have the beginnings of a particularly cursed AK build in my head/gathering the parts to. If it comes to fruition, I will post here to induce vom.
  25. Pretty tame family history compared to others here. Of note: Great-Great-grandfather was 32 when he died serving in the RAMC as a medic onboard the Glenart Castle Hospital ship, sunk in 1918 by a U-boat. Family tradition, that all first born sons carry his first name as our middle name. Maternal Great-grandfather served in the East during WW2 and ended the war as part of the occupation force in Japan. Supposedly had photos of the aftermath of hiroshima, which he'd smuggled home. My nan used to say he was in a 'commando' but I've tried to research formations that ended up in Japan and I couldn't see any. He was from the Isle of Lewis, with McLeod surname, so I presumed he'd joined a jock unit. I maybe wrong, and he could have transfered between units/formations. My mum said he never spoke of the war and very much had PTSD. My mums paternal grandfather was a train driver in London/Kent during the war, so was in a protected occupation. He did have a small box of paraphernalia, such as helmet for air raids, which I did see as a child. Unfortunately this went wayward on his passing. Dad's side. His mother was born in Danzig to Polish/German parents. His mum fled Danzig via U-boat with her mother and brother in 1945 as part of Operation Hannibal. Supposedly they were meant to escape on the German liner the Wilhelm Gustloff, however secured passage on the U-boat and avoided the greatest maritime disaster. Not sure about the rest of her family, but it's probably safe to say the men would have fought/served on the German side in some capacity. I know she had cousins who remained in Germany and my dad kept in contact until the last remaining one died of cancer in the early 2000s. Their family surname was Hess. Dad's dad was born in Hertfordshire and served in the RAF Regiment for his national service, completing the majority of his time at an AA installation in the Troodos mountains of Cyprus. He came home, became a salesman and learnt to fly, and flew in civilian airshows in planes like the gypsy and tiger moths. He remains a plane fanatic, only stopping flying within the last decade.
