  1. For various reasons I'd never buy one but the Novritsch SSR4 MK2 is a good all round AEG, and what I like is that it has it's own dedicated spare part page on their website... https://eu.novritsch.com/products/gun-systems/all-rifles/rifles/the-ssr4-system/ssr4-mk2-spare-parts/ ... and YouTube disassembly videos so in theory it's something that you could run for years and cover all sorts of things that might fail. Beyond that I'd be looking at key features like... a branded controller / ETU pre-installed (so effectively a GATE Aster or Titan) so you get cycle control etc. + quick change spring + no non-standard or proprietary parts + standard AR buffer tube so you can use any stock you want + standard M4 / AR15 mags. Also as you say you'll play at a "relatively big woodland site" I'd be thinking about keeping some money back so that you can set yourself up to use heavy BB's like 0.32g, so you get good range and know your shots can pass through light foliage. Some of the money you keep back may need to go on a stronger spring + better bucking + possibly a hop unit with some sort of TDC.
  2. This is a bit of a stretch, as someone who keeps an eye on their products (but not yet bought any), but seeing their "in stock" items getting lower and lower each month and a lack of social media updates I get an uncomfortable feeling (with no evidence, but it feels like potential cash flow type issues).
  3. This advert is COMPLETED!

I was given a brand new Tokyo Marui Tactical Master towards the end of December 2024, which I thought I wanted to keep, but on reflection I'll never use so I may as well sell it. It's the older fixed hop version, I stupidly removed the tag on the trigger guard when I thought I'd be using it, and I've just gassed the mag to make sure it's good (which it is) and dry fired it about 20 times (and it does feel good). I also peeled the price sticker off the box which I wish I hadn't I've put down an FPS of 280 as I'm assuming that's probably what it will do with green gas and 0.20g BB's. Price includes postage and it will be shipped via UPS as they don't mind RIF's, and I'm after payment via PayPal or bank transfer (collection is also welcome from Andover, north west Hampshire).

  4. I'm all ready to rock now, getting around 2.22J on 0.48g. Itching to use it in anger but now the weather this weekend looks poop for the Battlesim Lite at Red Alert I also had my son's old Viper ready rig, he just runs a belt now, now fitted with a couple of Kydex Customs TAC-41 extended mag holders.
  5. Didn't I say this to you on Reddit only a few days ago? (I even shared the photo of it) 🙄 Edit: https://old.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1i62jdq/double_eagle_range_issue/
  6. Who's a good TAC-41 P... yes you are... yes you are... good boy...
  7. As there's no easy to read long term discussions on this topic anywhere, posts on Facebook / WhatsApp just drift further away over time and I'm finding these events to be the most fun I have playing airsoft (reduced pressure and you can play the long game), I thought I'd start a topic on this. The link to their website is... https://redalertpaintball.co.uk/booking/airsoft-battlesim-lite/ ... and the rules are pretty much as a standard skirmish but... This will consist of a morning and afternoon non stop game with fixed point and rolling objectives given by your team commander. Teams will still be designated with tapes/armbands and there will be no weapon/ammo limits or medic rule as per a normal skirmish. ... and with Red Alert having such a big forest based site you can really lose yourself in the environment and fun of it all. Starting in 2025 they're doing them every two months, and in the summer of 2025 they were getting 120+ players for them. As long as the weather is good, I'm too soft to play in the rain and heavy wind is no fun, the next one is 2/2/2025. It'll be the first use of my TAC41-P in anger and God only knows how that will go (with my DMR as a backup). Is anyone else here planning on going?
  8. I know about Gunman with their FilmSim games, but for Skirmish I've never seen that DMR's must be real steel equivalent (at least at Bravo). I've never played at any UCAP sites but their website rules do not state that a DMR has to be real steel equivalent, only "Realistic Immitations (sic) Firearms (RIFS) only", which is anything that looks potentially like it could be a real firearm.
  9. UK sites? Personally I've not played at a single site that's told me my DMR has to match a real steel of any sort. Do you mind me asking what sites they are?
  10. Don't worry, I know the reality 🤣 (one of my highlights from 2024 though was being sat in a bush for around 20 minutes after my team moved on, hoping I don't get cramp / ticks on me / wondering how wet my arse can get, and then an enemy squad wanders by and my DMR sends them all home with shouts of "WTF" and "Where did that come from") I'm hoping that all I need is the updated concave chub nub, 100nm spring and spacers, a couple of extra mags, and a new scope that's got a higher zoom than my DMR 🤞
  11. I've bitten the bullet and bought a TAC-41 P (in FDE) from Skirmshop, let's see how long it takes to arrive over Christmas. In the end I decided... I didn't want to buy second hand, I'm just not sure I'll trust what I'm getting. I thought it best to go with the longer inner barrel and the solid body (a bit more old school). So I've now got until 2nd Feb 2025 to get it just right, ready for the next Red Alert "Battlesim Lite". I think I'm going to go 0.48g and the 120n Silverback spring, but not sure which scope 🤔 (probably a LPVO, 50mm, and use it at around 10x)
  12. Thanks, and as far as I'm aware it's the older fixed hop version. I really like it, but I'd never use it as I've multiple AAP-01's for different situations.
  13. I'm a lucky boy and now unexpectedly have in my collection a brand new Tokyo Marui Tactical Master. I'm really not sure what to do with, but to make sure all is OK I put gas in the mag (no leaks) and dry fired it a few times, and thinking I'll keep it I took the tag off of it (doh!). If I did sell it here any ideas what I should be asking for it?
  14. As Jar Jar said "how rude"! Headless Chickens though are hard to hit, a little bit of movement screws everything up when playing as DMR / sniper whilst that heavy BB's hopes the target is still where it was a second or two ago.
  15. I bought a boneyard CYMA MP5K, that came with a few mags, just for this reason. It works beautifully now with a GATE Titan v3, XT brushless motor and 7.4v LiPo's, however it's become an ornamental pew pew that I use rarely just as a novelty. It's just so HEAVY as a sidearm and to be honest gets in the way more than a pistol does if I'm crawling through bushes and undergrowth So, 100% a pistol all the way for me (although using an AAP-01 it's not the quietest).
  16. Right now Patrol Base have the Double Eagle M904E for £149.99 (if you have UKARA, add on £10 for two-tone), which at that price is very good value (I bought one on Sunday for a friend). However, I don't know what batteries you're currently using for your "CYMA M4" as using a Double Eagle M900 with anything other than 11.1v is a big compromise as the trigger response is sluggish on 7.4v.
  17. I'd strongly suspect that it's a cycle control / active braking issue. @JinxDuh is cycle control enabled / in the GCS app on your smartphone do you see it correctly observing the sector gear teeth / what level of active braking do you have set?
  18. Mods, I was going to reply but is this another of of those scam posts?
  19. AliExpress motherload (I like pretending to be a bush)... ... and velcro strips for add-hoc team arm bands.
  20. Has anyone "Registered" yet so that they can harvest your credentials / passwords?
  21. I wouldn't completely discount the bucking, it may look 100% sat right when using your eye to look at it, but once you're shooting so far out any minor issue will start to show as the BB veering off. With DMR's and snipers getting as close to perfection as possible with hop is essentials so that you have consistency and trust where your shot it going each time. What took me to the next level was an appropriate r-hop patch from Snipetor (Google him) and a Modify flat bucking. If you're using a typical "nub" also be wary of it being ever so slightly off centre, which is why I use a Maxx Model M4A-PRO and its solid concave nub so that this acts as a TDC. (Of course I've spent lots of money on this, but it doesn't guarantee that I'm any less crap at playing )
  22. The no.1 reason why I sold my Armorer Works drum mag (the same as the WE one mechanically). Spare parts are as rare as rocking horse shit with you having to use places like WGC Shop (who are actually very good), the winding mechanism craps out regularly requiring a replacement, and generally they're a lot more fragile than you think. You're probably going to have to bite the bullet and get the park from HK.
  23. Regarding battery it's great when you suddenly find that your battery lasts twice as long as it did on a full charge. Also, as the torque is so incredible, you then start to think about lower gear ratios and just using 7.4v!
  24. So @ButcherBill can reminisce (mods, please delete if inappropriate)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK9DCPl2nHQ
