And to me personally the stupid thing is that the AEG isn't even worth £290 new, in that this is crazy money for an AEG with a very basic inline MOSFET, there's no optical cycle control so you could still easily get jams on semi. £300 would get you a nice new AEG with at least a GATE Aster in it 🙄

Hopefully from a certain Heroic Elasmobranch Cartilaginous Fish gentleman? (I sent him a pair of my Guard Dog Evader 2's to put his mesh in, with a multi-cam paint job, and I use them all the time as a DMR / Sniper. However, I have eye glasses under them and somehow these still steam up a little so I still run an ExFog on my boonie)

I'd say that there's something wrong with the feed lips, the BB can't into them, rather than a spring problem.

Are you talking yourself into buying a TAC-41 😉
-
That's sounds very logical and probably what's happened here. Yes it's a mongrel but now a very nice one 😀

You can sort of see it in one of the existing photo but I'll share a better one below. I wonder is APS AEG's use CYMA gearboxes or make their own...

Well, I think I'm safe in saying this, but I'd say the issue was 100% their fault as Bespoke Airsoft and iWholesales are both in the same building and run by the same people. Here's some evidence for you... https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07676829 https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11367833 ... and you can use Google Street View to see the building they're both in with all of their signage. There will be very specific reasons why James / Jaeger Precision split with them, I think there was bad blood / something in the relationship went wrong. Personally I'd go nowhere near Bespoke Airsoft since he left them.

"My First Airsoft": Airsoft what? A rifle, pistol, LMG? "Feeling Cute": Oh just f**k off you needy muppet. "Other Wanky Post Subjects": Stupid Americans 🙄 I try my best to re-direct UK people to here 👍 Edit: For example... https://old.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1ixj4p9/feeling_cute_might_delete_later/ 🤮🤮🤮

Over a year ago my youngest son spent his own money on a used AKM being sold by a local shop's staff member, which on paper looked sweet, however it was very unreliable with the Perun optical controller just craping out every few shots. Finally bad Dad has sorted it out and installed a GATE Titan v3 and a 27k Warhead brushless motor, with it now running very well (especially on full auto). With it having now been worked on by me I've taken a few photos that were interesting and have a few questions for others. When he first bought it and when it did work, for the first few shots, it had great range and consistency and a few things probably helped this in that there's a 3D printed block keeping the hop unit steady, the inner barrel has PTFE tape wrapped around it, and there's also a sliver of a tin can and masking tape below the inner barrel at the front of the receiver (all of which I suppose kept things very much in-place). Is this all a smart thing to do with an AKM? It's no specific brand either, it's very much a mongrel. The gearbox is CYMA, and like a boneyard CYMA MP5K I sorted out there was this awful thick green grease in it which I had to clean out. The receiver and wooden furniture is a bit of a mystery, I've no idea where the wooden furniture is from, however the receiver says on the bottom it's APS and the front left of the receiver has painted Russian symbols and numbers.

I've finally sorted out my son's AK that he's had for well over year, which I now understand is an AKM? It didn't come with a mag, so the one I've bought may not be historically accurate, and the small tube at the bottom is missing (I've no idea what it's called). It's a mongrel with a CYMA gearbox but an APS receiver and possibly the rest of it as well, and now a GATE Titan and a Warhead brushless 27k and half a day of my sweat a tears (I must do a full post on it as AK aficionados may find it interesting)...

Magazines - should I buy Hi, Mid or Low cap?
Fatboy40 replied to White_Wolf's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
You could argue the toss back and forth, however as Patrol Base finally have these back in stock... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/emg-230rnd-daniel-defense-mid-cap-magazine-for-m4-ar-15-6-pack ... I'd just buy a pack and that's you and your wife sorted for a very good price👍 -
I can keep going all day

As an AEG DMR player to get the best you need to commit to the "very very very very very fine-tuning" lifestyle to get the best out of them, but moving around without a "tank and line" is so much nicer The trifecta for me has been air volume + hop + BB weight, get these all perfect and you're there (so me = full cylinder + Maxx Model M4A-Pro / Concave Metal Nub / Snipetor patch + 0.40g).

Starting to repair a boneyard AK-47, wires soldered to motor tabs, WTF! 😡

Hmm, I guess an argument can be made that 2.8mm spade connectors that were fine for 8.4v nimh driving a 1990s motor at 10rps might be the resistory part of an 11.1V 30rps wankergun setup.
[Looks at G36 with intent]

is it a 74U? worried this may be my doing... I know very little about AEG repairs and knew even less back then, but when trying to repair a krink (that i later sold on) i snapped the motor tabs with relatively little force, soldering them back on seemed like the simplest solution? what should i have done instead?

Help needed - Really want to start Airsoft BUT..
Fatboy40 replied to WillMidz's topic in General Discussion
I'm going to be controversial but that's why sometimes it's better to hit an area of the target that's more likely to feel the shot if you know what I mean, sorry 😔 -
Those of us who like to pretend to be bracken, bushes and trees know the crafting materials aren't cheap (even with AliExpress being an option for some things). One person / place I've never bought from is Theyma HP... https://www.facebook.com/TheymaHP/ ... so I was wondering if anyone here has? They're only over the channel in France, but not being traditional retail I'm wondering if language / shipping / taxes get in the way and mean overall it's just easier to buy certain crafting materials from KMCS now and again? I expect that I'll message them soon anyhow, but I thought I'd ask here as well just in case.

As a bit of a DE M900 aficionado I'd love to know what's implied by "fully upgraded" as well. Externally I see slapped on paint, a 3d printed stock extension, and grip tape applied to the stock pistol grip, so let's say a generous £40 on parts there, so where has the other £180 or so gone? To replace the weaker components in it, hop unit + bucking + nozzle + spring + motor, you could do all of that for £90 with parts from AK2M4.
-
It won't be for fitment into the magwell but for the spring and follower inside it. I'd be assuming that only the seperate internal part of the mag, not it's shell, is made with the impregnated plastic.

For various reasons I'd never buy one but the Novritsch SSR4 MK2 is a good all round AEG, and what I like is that it has it's own dedicated spare part page on their website... https://eu.novritsch.com/products/gun-systems/all-rifles/rifles/the-ssr4-system/ssr4-mk2-spare-parts/ ... and YouTube disassembly videos so in theory it's something that you could run for years and cover all sorts of things that might fail. Beyond that I'd be looking at key features like... a branded controller / ETU pre-installed (so effectively a GATE Aster or Titan) so you get cycle control etc. + quick change spring + no non-standard or proprietary parts + standard AR buffer tube so you can use any stock you want + standard M4 / AR15 mags. Also as you say you'll play at a "relatively big woodland site" I'd be thinking about keeping some money back so that you can set yourself up to use heavy BB's like 0.32g, so you get good range and know your shots can pass through light foliage. Some of the money you keep back may need to go on a stronger spring + better bucking + possibly a hop unit with some sort of TDC.

Tectonic Innovations / Extreme Airsoft - Any Issues?
Fatboy40 replied to Burrelly's topic in Places to Buy
This is a bit of a stretch, as someone who keeps an eye on their products (but not yet bought any), but seeing their "in stock" items getting lower and lower each month and a lack of social media updates I get an uncomfortable feeling (with no evidence, but it feels like potential cash flow type issues). -
Tokyo Marui Tactical Master (New, Only "Tested", Fixed Hop Version)
Fatboy40 posted an advert in Gas Pistols
This advert is COMPLETED!
- For sale
- As new
I was given a brand new Tokyo Marui Tactical Master towards the end of December 2024, which I thought I wanted to keep, but on reflection I'll never use so I may as well sell it. It's the older fixed hop version, I stupidly removed the tag on the trigger guard when I thought I'd be using it, and I've just gassed the mag to make sure it's good (which it is) and dry fired it about 20 times (and it does feel good). I also peeled the price sticker off the box which I wish I hadn't I've put down an FPS of 280 as I'm assuming that's probably what it will do with green gas and 0.20g BB's. Price includes postage and it will be shipped via UPS as they don't mind RIF's, and I'm after payment via PayPal or bank transfer (collection is also welcome from Andover, north west Hampshire).£75

I'm all ready to rock now, getting around 2.22J on 0.48g. Itching to use it in anger but now the weather this weekend looks poop for the Battlesim Lite at Red Alert I also had my son's old Viper ready rig, he just runs a belt now, now fitted with a couple of Kydex Customs TAC-41 extended mag holders.

Didn't I say this to you on Reddit only a few days ago? (I even shared the photo of it) 🙄 Edit: https://old.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/1i62jdq/double_eagle_range_issue/
