I went through a phase of buying boneyard TM Glocks off this forum, refurbishing them and selling them. i gave up after I bought one glock held together with super glue, and one that smelt like it had been soaked in toilet water. 😭 the state people leave their kit in boggles my mind. -
Purchasing an accessory from a RS retailer - risk assesment?
MistakenMexican replied to Zarrin's topic in General Discussion
as @Lozartsaid, it’s not illegal. But it’s a frustrating grey area that can land you in some trouble. Largest, most likely risk is that customs will confiscate it and you’ll lose it along with your money. I know a couple of lads who’ve been flagged (and visited) by police due to purchasing numerous items of RS furniture directly from US and Europe (Poland I think). Nothing came of it, but it’s always a shock when you get a knock at 6am from police and then asked to present at a police station for an interview. There’s nothing illegal about it, but if you’re buying dozens of AK hand guards in a country where no one can legally own an AK… It raises red flags. I’ve never met anyone who’s fallen foul of this, but there’s always a rumour floating around that if you buy one too many items from Brownells UK, you’ll get a knock on the door 🤣 -
penny farthing? 🤣

You’ve become a MAMIL 🤣 Worse than a milsimmer or speedsofter!

IMO big Steve builds is one of the best around. I’d like to think I’m pretty good, but Steve has fixed a pistol that I wrote off as boneyard on more than one occasion.

You may have a faulty tracer. Or bad batteries? my TM full auto tracer is nearly 15 years old and going strong. It stays on as long as the power button is toggled on.

I invested in TTI lightweight mags. They’re about £30 a magazine but weight half that of a stock magazine. Means I can comfortably carry 8 mags for the same weight as 4 stock mags.

Time Left: 4 days and 6 hours
- For sale
- As new
For sale: brand new, made to order display stands for your kit. I currently have stands for the following: Glock Hicapa HK45 FN5-7 CZ P10 GHM9K (MP9 version) PCC45 MP7 Pistol stands are £9 plus postage (£4 flat rate) the SMG/PCC stands are £15 each plus postage (again, £4 flat rate). Base colours are blue or black. If you want other base colours, contact me and we’ll see what we can do. logo colours: black, blue, white, red, gold, glow in the dark (£1 extra). I have other colours I haven’t tried yet. I can accommodate more logos than the ones pictured. If you want a specific logo and it’s something not too complicated, I can do it. Also have to look at doing bespoke stands if you want them customised within reason.£9

Anyone dealt with Firesupport recently.

Made an order with them last Friday and it was despatched the same day. I imagine they’re just busy or maybe the bloke who answers the emails and phone is on holiday? 😅 -
That aged well 🤣

I have two thoughts: Firstly, if he’s sold you broken kit, what else isn’t right about it all. Having a few of those glocks, it’s not easy to break the frame like that. So what else is broken? Second, if it was a genuine mistake, why wouldn’t he want to make it right? It’s quite easy to narrow down which advert you bought - given what was paid for the pistol, surely a few quid to keep everyone happy wouldn’t be a big deal? A new guarder frame for a gen3/4 is £40 at most. So I’d assume a £40 refund would have kept everyone happy? If you’ve paid via PayPal G&S - I’d take it to PayPal. Make sure you collect screenshots of the conversations to provide to PayPal as evidence you’ve tried to resolve this like adults. Take plenty of clear photos of the condition of the pistol as well. Everyone makes mistakes - I’ve sold a couple of pistols that I absolutely know where immaculate but “don't work” on arrival. Even had photos and videos to prove it. However, you could sit around and blame the seller or the buyer, but it doesn’t fix the problem. In those cases typically the seller would either offer a partial refund to the value of repairing the damage. Or a full refund for a return of the goods. Ultimately it’s a reputation thing. Personally I don’t want to be slated for being a conman or a scammer, so I’d do what I could to keep the buyer happy. The fact he has no photos and he’s taken down the advert raises red flags to me. I mark adverts as complete/sold and I still have photos of sales from 8 weeks ago. If he can’t prove it was immaculate before sending it to you, I’d imagine you have a strong case with PayPal.

To be fair, if we’re sharing tips on how to bodge it 🤣 I’d recommend fuel resistant gasket sealant. A liberal application around the inner edge of the magazine shell, then fit the base and insert the pins. Wipe off the excess and leave to cure (typically 24-48hrs). I’ve used this bodge on a few gas rifle mags with awkward o-ring sizes and it lasts a few months. With any of these bodges, they eventually fail.

That’s the end of your recoil rod. The notched bit locks into the recoil rod. The groove on the flat end is where it sits in the hop unit. Drop me a message if you need more help.

they’ll take very similar o-rings to the gen 1 mags - I’ve repaired all of mine using the nitrile o-rings off AliExpress. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwqFA8M if it’s only the bases leaking, you want the 21 x 2.4mm o-rings. You can find them on AliExpress of a couple of quid for a pack of 10. They’re a b*stard to get back together as the repair o-rings are approximately 0.4mm thicker. However, so won’t leak again as the fit is so tight. alternatively you could try soaking the OEM orings in boiling water. I find this is an urban myth personally… but several people swear by it. It apparently expands the oring back to its original size.

£1700? Those are rookie numbers. Remember when RA-TECH were selling an M14 EBR GBBR for £3k? And it didn’t even work out of the box 🤣 -
Have a look at hicapahub.co.uk

credit where credit is due- £300 isn’t a mental price given what you’re offering in one package 👍🏽 also, the FI trigger is pretty mint. -
I’d still rather work on a GBB mechanism than a NGRS. I hear that when you open an NGRS, the soul of a Japanese Airsoft tech leaves the receiver. You have to sacrifice another one to be able to seal his soul back into the receiver when closing it, otherwise it will never work again.

Eventually someone was going to get triggered 🤣 He’s been a spoil sport and dropped the price by £100 😆
