    It does seem a little Mack’s in my opinion. I agree he’s got a good rep on here. But it’s only a matter of time before we all end up on here 🤣 They were £500 new. Only came in black. He’s rattle canned it (which in my view devalues it). If he did a good job of stripping the paint off, or if he’d left it black, there’d be an argument that £500+ was fair, as it’s 1 of 1000 with a unique serial number.

    I found out through the sender. They can enquire through Hong Kong post, who keep statistics on all this stuff. been buying kit from HK for 15 years and I’ve never had them kick off about the “gift” thing. Especially as it doesn’t affect your VAT contribution either.

    you should probably read the HMRC website. It’s all laid out there. In short, there’s no such customs code as “CO2 magazine” - they might have put the item description as CO2 mag, but that’s largely irrelevant. Just because it’s listed as a gift, doesn’t mean it’s immune from customs charges, since we left the EU, everything is subject to customs charges. Even if it’s listed as a gift between two private individuals. Finally - border force have a massive backlog at the moment of about 2 weeks, so if it’s stopped for inspection or customs charges, it might take as long as two weeks. My last order sat at customs goods in for 2 weeks but was processed within 30 mins of being scanned in at customs.

    It’s worth providing evidence that they’re actually AEGIS kits as without the grey box they could be any one of the “factory outlet kits”. If they’re direct from factory (such as Proact, guarder, USHOT ect), then you can get them as cheap as £90… you might be able to get away with calling them “EX-AEGIS” kits like Action Hobbies have.     The prime (PGC) kits were the gold standard back in the day. It’s worth checking with some of the Hong Kong retailers if they have one squirrelled away somewhere. if not. Guarder. the guarder P226 kits are fine*. I’ve fitted a few in my day and they’ve all been good in the end. *as long as you’re a decently experienced tech with a lot of patience and a very good dremel kit. It’s lots of sanding, refitting, checking alignment and repeating every fraction of a mm. I’d recommended the guarder enhanced spring set as well.

    What generation slide are you buying? 3, 4 or 5. Each have their own quirks. for gen4 and 5, it’s recommended you use the matching guarder light weight BBU and reinforced nozzle set. The matching recoil rod is also very important. for gen3, it’s really pot luck because the QC was so bad. I’ve had slides that just drop in. Others need hours of fitting.

    Worth noting for those AKX owners: - Hephaestus do a very good NPAS valve. - dragonworkshop do a complete after market nozzle replacement. - FEDA do a nozzle shell replacement that promises a slight boost in FPS.

    Does the MWS have to take STANAGs if not, consider the Savia PCC. Takes hicapa mags. If you’re already doing IPSC, I’d wager you’re running a hicapa. The PCC takes hicapa mags so you don’t need to invest in new, heavier mags. its largely MWS spec. It does about 1.3J out of the box with the stock set up. You’d need to do very little to get it shooting at 30m accurate. I think all I needed to do was a guns modify spring set and pink flamingo hop unit. It’s shooting 40m flat with respectable accuracy on 0.28s.

    In my experience, when someone claims “fully upgraded” it’s far from fully upgraded, they just lack the knowledge or inclination to realise that. The second option is they’re trying to scam people by selling something largely stock as “fully upgraded”.
