  1. Well I do commissions for metalwork so we will have to see how the ultimax goes =D
  2. I have no doubt I could forge out an ak reciever but It would be somewhat pointless as I already have both lct and e&l aks. No one makes an ultimax though and I had a hankering for a 556 lmg that wasnt a saw and took regular mags.
  3. So for those that dont know im an armoursmith/ blacksmith and ive decided to take on a gun project using these skills. Specifically the ultimax 100 mk 5 because I love the ultimax but Id also like to be able to use my regular m4 mags and that version has a magwell. Made a mockup so far. A v3 gearbox sits about perfect in this but on the real one the upper and lower recievers are welded together. If I did this Id never be able to get the gearbox out. Im probably gonna try to make it in a way that means the rear end cap can come off and the recievers can come apart. One of the main reasons I chose this gun is because its basically just 90 degree boxes for most of the reciever. Ill probably just be brazing on other pieces of metal for all those details on the side of it. Evetything else will be hammered out of 2-3mm steel. I will probably also be getting a friend to 3d print some of the brackets and internal parts for the barrel and hop. Should be a fun project.
  4. Just received them and got the plain one fitted and tested. Still needs some bolts and finishing work but it already shoots very well. Will post a vid later.
  5. So ive always wanted a classic soviet looking ak optic. Specifically for my plain ak74 but unfortunately they are pricey and im a cheapskate. So my next project is to take this aimpoint knockoff and this old cyma side mount and make some kind of soviet looking thingimajig.
  6. Had a friend print out the split slide model I modified. Going to be interesting to see how well it actually works. Got one made with the pic rail and one without just incase I feel like changing it over
  7. Thanks though that aug isnt a dmr. Im running it as a hbar lmg. Just need to make some extended mags for it.
  8. To be fair I think that looks pretty interesting. The only "speedsoft" parts I take issue with are the ones designed to abuse the semi auto only rule like blade triggers.
  9. Id say that im in the third category "stingy collector" A great deal of what I buy is broken when I get it with the exception of some old and rare stuff like my real sword and tanaka stuff. Even so pretty much all of that was bought with money from selling other broken guns I bought. I have a solid core collection that I repair and keep when it breaks but Ive never had a gun stripped apart and have every part replaced like some do. I have great fun running everything from stock cyma aks to tanaka revolvers. I repair stuff, manufacture pats and build custom guns but I have a set of things that I play more often with and always keep, the a&k pkm being one of those. The only upgrades Ive ever really done are new hop units/ rubbers and adding a gate warfet. Everything else is stock or replaced with similar parts when it breaks.
  10. Out of interesrt which bit is bent. I am a metalworker and I also know a sewing machine specialist
  11. Aug hbar now basically done bar making the bipod pretty and building a whole lot of extended mags for it. Got the proper 3x scope now. Not bad considering that for £150 Ive built this and a second para carbine style aug out of what i got. Both working beautifully. Also very happy with how my use of spraypaint has improved. This gun used to be blue but I got a very nice finish on it. Also since we seem to be showing off antique sewing machines now heres a couple I have laying around in my workshop
  12. work in progress aug hbar. Just finished the barrel bar blackening it. going to remake the bipod legs to look right and make some extended mags for it. Also got another boneyard aug coming to steal the scope off of.
  13. If I had a 3d printer. cnc machine and a lot of spare time then I could definately make it work but unfortunately I have none of those so Ill stick to screwing together premade parts XD.
  14. I believe when you open the 203 ones it effectively recocks the valve and on the gp25 ones shoving the shell in resets it. Either way this launcher costs 1/5 the price of either of those so ill take having to turn a valve for a second.
  15. Just have to open the ball valve for about a second and that charges the shell.
  16. Well I have shattered 2 practice shells by maxing out the psi so Imagine that would be pretty evil XD
  17. Here is a vid of the grenade launcher. This is from when I was still deciding on an operating pressure. so the shots are a little inconsitent. Its now running for about 9-10 shots at 300 psi quite safely with the ability to quickly crank it up for long range shots if necesarry. Runs off 12 gram co2 cartridges in the front section. Still needs prettying up a bit though. Grand total of around £100-120 spent (including 1 co2 rated tag shell which is most of the cost)
  18. A now fully functional (but not yet pretty) front loading 12 gram co2 cartridge powered tag launcher with adjustable regulator. A nice casing is in the works. Did have to ditch the idea of a trigger mech and use a button for now but the final version should hopefully have something nicer.
  19. Modified someone elses hi cappa split slide model to have a longer barrel. Im very interested to see how well this comes out. Ive ben quoted £22 for both barrel variants and a slide so if it needs some tweaking its no big deal. This is going to be my sidearm for a cyberpunk style event.
  20. welp. Everything was far too expensive so I just took a free model off thingiverse and modified it to have a longer barrel. Been quoted a total of £22 from a friend for a slide and both barrel variants so I suppose Ill see how well it works.
  21. Recently found this pic and im searching for this hi cappa barrel or one in a similar style
  22. Currently it still has the stock lct nozzle in it. I didnt see anything in the listing or reviews which said it needed a longer one. guess that explains the issue.
  23. So I recently got a retro arms cnc hop unit to replace the lemon in my lct rpk. With the hop turned off it seems to shoot fine but as soon as I add any pressure it jams every shot. ive tried it with both maple leaf and modify rubbers.
