Back to weight! Wearing all my kit, I gain almost 3 freakin' stone! Also, that stuff you said about not eating breakfast, Ian, I can't eat in the morning either... Additionally, I'm sure I have higher cholesterol than someone who just died off the back of obesity. Kinda wish my metabolism was shit, so I'd get fat, to force me to get in shape. 'Cos as it stands I can eat until I'm on the brink of hurling and not show it in the slightest, plus my diet sucks arse. Pretty much live off Subway, KFC and Pizza Hut, can't gain weight to save my life. Is paranoia on that list? 'Cos I now have it haha.

Jesus Christ, you only weigh 53kg? I think my cat weighs more than that lol. I'd say I was overly slim, I'm a boney bastard, 32" waist but I'm about 190cm tall and weigh about 85kg, I have to have everything on almost the tightest setting it'll go, though I tend to go that extra mile and tighten it more than I need to, just to stop it all jiggling around. Osprey actually fits me like a glove with the cummerbunds almost meeting across my back, only 2 columns of molle loops spare, 1 at either side.

Xbox is still going strong as ever, even Hardcore servers are easy to come by. XBL is hardly a huge investment, can't believe you won't just pay it.

I've bought some upgraded VSR sears anyway, so once they've arrived I'll let you know if they fit. I've still not opened up the trigger mech though, so I hope it's not too complicated.

I bought the gun for its aesthetics out of the box, I personally think that body kit looks utterly hideous. In that picture it's also a Remington 700 that's sat in the stock, not an L96 derivative, so I'd be doubtful of it fitting. Especially the mags. Good call on the hop unit blocker spring thingy though, that might be up for modification. Clipping it a bit might sort my issue out.

It would go on top yeah... I'll have to get a photo up of mine with the muzzle break off, see if that helps anything. It looks metal, is it? Have you tried just straight up pulling on it? Maybe it's just slid on over the threads? If your's is feeding like a POS out of the box then I would send it back. I had some mag fitment issues with mine, and slapping them in broke a part of the feeding mech, which is when it started being shit, but since I'd broken it, I couldn't return it... That said, I've DIY'd the piece that broke and it's still not feeding right. Tried that, thing with doing that as well, is that the more BBs there are in the mag, the more careful you have to be about accidentally touching the release button, 'cos if you do you'll lose even more BBs than if you'd under-filled it. I plan to experiment with metal washers and unscrewing all the screws a bit, see if I can adjust the sitting height of the mag in relation to the feed tube. Not going to bother until I've got some upgrades though. Just bought a full upgrade set for £50 second hand, so fingers crossed I see an improvement or I'm going to be insanely depressed.

The awesome muzzle break on mine does screw off, and it has a thread on the muzzle break itself too, so you probably just need to twist it a little harder and hope for the best. Kinda lame it doesn't come with it though =[ I think it's one of the best features of the gun lol. Mine only came with 1 spring, but it came shooting at 400fps on the dot, which sounds pretty M120ish to me.

Yeah I thought there'd be some places that sold it overseas. I'm not really prepared to import from the US, the customs fees are ludicrous.

As far as I know, it takes VSR pistons, springs, spring guides, cylinder heads and sears. I'm currently buying all those parts second hand for about £45 to keep the costs down, in case any of them don't fit... So I'll update this once I've received the parts and tested them. The trigger mech is the same as the one used in the HFC VSR10, meaning as you say, there are no Zerotriggers or trigger box upgrades as of yet, but upgrading the sears ought to be possible. The barrel from what I've seen is an L96 cut, the hop rubber is a VSR type, as is the hop arm, though I imagine the unit itself is proprietary, I've never had a spring sniper prior to this one, so I don't know if the hop unit as a whole is from a VSR or not. I just hope they either bring out a better feeding mech uprade kit, or at least sell the current ones are a purchasable spare part, 'cos mine's shit and is basically rendering the gun unusable. As for the Raven PDI piston though, it does say on their website that it's only intended for 1J springs. I can't understand why anyone would want one, maybe aside from getting a black cylinder... Price is silly high just for that though. Where'd you buy it from? I've not actually found one anywhere.

I don't have a photo, but I thought this was the most appropriate place to say that... My L85 lives! New gears fit and work fine, they're a 1:26 ratio... Or it might be 1:28 I forget. But they should ensure I can pull heavier springs, up to m180s if the label on the box is to be believed. So when I do get the L86 as a DMR project, I can just drop this gearbox right into it to save upgrading it. I think the standard gears are a 1:18, but these new ones are helical. Gun definitely sounds different now, not sure if it's quieter as some people claim of helical gears. The new cylinder head I've got fits fine, for anyone that's interested it's a V2 type, air compression is the same as it was. The shape of the inside of it kinda negates the effect of my LPE air brake piston head, but it still fits in there and works so I figure I might as well stick with it. Shame the pole on the front isn't longer, I could probably make the gun practically silent. New air nozzle (V2 again) does fit, but it's slightly too long, so it blocks the feeding tube. For the time being I've switched back to the stock air nozzle, but I'll be ordering a sector gear delay chip once I find one, which ought to ensure the tappet plate is pulled back further, meaning the air nozzle will travel back enough to allow BBs into the hop chambre, then I ought to get better compression. So in short, it's all hunky dory! All that remains is to take it all down tomorrow and give it a good hard clean, re-grease it, and then test it in daylight to make sure it's shooting as well as it was, test the fps at the next skirmish I go to and then it'll just be a case of keeping tabs on it, making sure the pinion gear doesn't come loose or shred itself again. Quite pleased with myself. Just wish Contour would hurry the shit up and send me a new bloody lens so I can film the game next week at Tac House: Spartan... Might just use the lens kit despite them not fitting right... I'll lose the water proofing but at least I'll be able to use the camera. Might have to do some tests. I'd feel I had to double lens it to properly protect the actual lens, but there'd be a gap between the two lens covers, which will likely (knowing my luck) cause a load of annoying light refraction issues...

I don't really know enough about them to pick styles, I'll just look for something I like the look of. I've been through all this about 800 times and have yet to realistically consider buying one, or taking my CBT, there's also factoring my mum into it, because she'll probably just shoot me in the head if I buy a motorbike. But frankly, cars can suck a dick. I'm not paying thousands of pounds for a piece of shit box and then paying double that again, to be allowed to legally drive it. It'd be cheaper to buy one from some shady guy in an alley, drive with no license and no insurance and then just pay the fines if and when I get caught out. It's a bloody con, literally.

I thought as much, I'll look for something second hand then. Are there any websites you can get second hand bikes from? All I can find are proper dealers that sell stuff second hand after reconditioning them and you can get bikes new for about the same, so it seems stupid.

Cheers Valdorian, there ought to be some updates on this thread within a month or so, just need to fix my L85, buy an L86 to pay back my brother and then get around to buying the upgrades! It's student loan day in about a fortnight, and pay day in around a week, so it's all highly feasible. Oh and Marcus, I didn't see this post until just now: I've looked into it but it's for 1J springs only... even though the stock spring is 1.5J so I'm not sure who exactly is going to want it... Especially when it's $135. But yeah, I do want a black cylinder. I wonder who ever thought silver ones were a good idea...

It's a nice find, but I was looking at getting one of the replicas with the illuminator in it, or just looking for a real one. Also, in those photos of it someone put it on an M4... Which ought to be impossible. And they put it on backwards! Derp!
