  1. Proper character wasn't he. Sorry to hear he's gone.
  2. That's very honest of you @ghostwalker but you are most definitely not alone with mental health issues. So many people have them now and I think it's a sign of the times, but it's less of a weakness and more of an inner challenge. If we change the internal monologue most people would find there is no problem at all. The good thing about airsoft is finding like-minded people to game with and a lot of randoms I met over the years told me all sorts of tales about their lives and some were seriously sad, but life affirming as well. Keep focusing on the things you want to improve on and life will always be easier to live with.
  3. I'm still perplexed why tennis doubles is now allowed and airsoft is still in question. On a previous post I saw a site saying their precautions would be: - no travelling with anyone outside your household to site - PPE masks to be worn outside of games - no safe zone, use your car - hand sanitizer to be used - keep your distance. I think these seem to cover making things as safe as possible to play. Only thing I see a problem is if people need to do a #2 and we can't use toilets 😟
  4. Yeah, I managed to fix it. Bit of a fiddle, but not too bad.
  5. Quick question: can you fix an M4 hicap pullcord if the cord end broke? The cord stop is fine and the cord has retracted back, but I'm guessing I can potentially get the cord out and tie a new knot on the stop. I am going to open the mag up right now and see how I go, but didn't want to waste an hour if its impossible.
  6. This is it, in a game that has no consciences - TKs ain't that bad. In 90% of airsoft game days I've attended: who won what game and if there was an overall winning team barely gets a mention. Fun ftw usually, so I apologise, take the hit myself and keep working on a better "response time"
  7. I don't think my reaction time can be questioned, but I'm not trying to claim anything by saying they are quick if that makes sense, only that I am probably too quick to shoot before identifying a target, but it's a weakness as I stated 🙃
  8. I did see the game had been cancelled, which is a shame in a way, but maybe for the best until we know we've generally got the infection levels right down across the UK. The rules they stated seem pretty good if airsoft is to return anytime soon, but if tennis is allowing doubles to be played which is a pretty closely played game then airsoft is surely much safer especially when comparing our playing field space with a tennis court...
  9. This is it, if someone is moving towards me I'm not expecting it to be friendlies but it'll be people who sneak, rush and flank well and I should just take half a second to check.
  10. An itchy trigger finger near friendlies in CQB... I admit I just shoot before looking because I do have good reactions, but end up shooting about 6 or 8 friendlies during a day, which is atrocious 🥺👈
  11. Hi folks, Friend of mine saw they are running woodland games with some thought out precautions in place, BUT wanted to check here if they're actually permitted to do this? http://www.swindonairsoft.co.uk/
  12. Might be worth putting UK 8.5 in title and description.
  13. If you wanted cash what would be your asking price?
  14. Max Payne was an absolute classic and the music is great!
  15. Yeah, overall it feels like the upgrade has improved the internals a huge amount, plus it should now be transferable to other guns if I get a different 1911 in the future.
  16. Done! My friend has done it perfectly. I spoke to him after and said that other people might want engineered bits for their airsoft kit and he would appreciate some work. Wondering if there's a place on the forums to promote him?
  17. Thanks again. I'm guessing if we somehow guff it up I could potentially buy a KWC spring guide, but I shall remain positive. 💪
  18. Thanks, I checked the back of the spring guide this morning encase I'd missed the hole and it's solid. It would be cool to drill a hole rather than cut it off so I will ask a friend with a pillar drill and see how we go. Do you know if spring guide stoppers/ends are solid metal or hollow by chance?
  19. I have bought a maple leaf barrel and hop upgrade unit. Fitted it yesterday and test fired it, seems to work fine. The only thing that doesn't is the slide lock when a magazine is empty. I have thrown in a photo of the unit from a website and the unit as it currently is sitting in my gun. I am wondering if the highlighted bit might be causing it. I have no idea of its use and found when I reassembled that the slide spring and its stopper butted against it a lot tighter as this sticky out bit is not on the stock hop up unit. I am quite new to disassembly and upgrading, lockdown finally got me to pull my finger out with regards to knowing more about the gear I use.
  20. Excellent work! When I have the courage (and money) I shall ask the price of some I like.
  21. july, these are great items, are they for sale?
  22. Just had a very good experience getting a shotgun that was the best price online I could find. Customer service was quick and so was delivery. 5/5
  23. Airsoft is whatever you make of it... I love the game, outdoors or CQB and try and go about 4 to 6 times a year, but that's actually enough for me to have sustained a love for it over the last 12 years. As like most folks I'm a gun nut and always have been since spark guns, cap guns, spud guns, sucker dart shotguns - they all led onto the air rifles, gat guns, catapults and spring BB guns that eventually hit Britain's shooting shops. When airsoft gained ground over paintball as a better alternative (imo) it just hit the spot - realistic guns and the ability to shoot someone else with them with little harm. What's not to love? The dedication for me comes from the fun not the gun. Even as a true gun nut I just think the fun has been the driving force behind the hobby. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the types of people that play and the cultures that genuinely mix so well on sites. Buying stuff and being a consumer is all consuming at times in this world but i would genuinely state that we can't find joy in objects, it's what they represent and our purpose for them. Bit deep, but yeah - best game ever for me, whatever tool and gear I'm using.
  24. I know a lot of people here love Tokyo Marui and I had an old TM M4 I loved and tried some of their more recent guns, but I have to say they just seem a bit boring. The innovation for me would be seeing their own designs come out, variants yes, but also homebrew Japanese cyber kit, or cold war era adaptations... stuff that isn't the same old weapons. Just my take on "latest" releases.
