  1. Can anyone recommend Jing Gong for a first rifle? I was looking at their G36 series and was wondering if they're usable out of the box without tinkering (mainly because I would have no clue what I'm doing).

I know I would probably be better off going for something like the CM16, but I want something different to what all of my friends have that isn't an AR/M4 platform.

As JG go, their G36 is one of the better RIFS they offer.

Search JG G36 in the forum search function and have a look at what the guys who own them say.

I haven’t owned one, but people who’s opinions I trust say they are very good starter G36s, I think @Smooth_Operator has one?

      Hey both.

I've got 2 G36 AEGs, although neither of them are JG. I've got 1 Umarex and 1 S&T.

Personally I'd recommend an S&T G36 as a perfect starter AEG. Similar price to the JG and hugely better performance and build quality.

I've got 2 JG's an MP5 and an AUG. Both are ridiculously good for the money. I know that later JG G36 models have an adjustable spring system (as does my AUG) so your G36 may well be adjustable. Fold the stock and look to see if there is a hole that will take an allen key in a position that matches the rear of the gearbox. If there is , turning counter clockwise reduces spring tension.
