  1. "Put the mag in, and a couple of taps never hurt anyone" One of the Marshalls favourite quotes when picking up hire gear at the mall
  2. How do you protect your ears out of interest? Or don't you?
  3. Welcome to the forum, I'm new myself.
  4. And a 9.6v won't overwork the gun? Thanks for the response.
  5. Hello all, Hopefully you guys will be kind enough to help me out. I'm looking at buying my first RIF and need some help with battery options. I'm probably going to purchase a G&G CM16 Raider-L, my budget isn't huge and I don't want to go OTT on my first RIF. In an attempt to keep the cost down I am going to try and source batteries and a charger from other sites, (looking at zeroone for the RIF at £124 http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=5774 ). On the zeroone page it suggest that I might also like a " Zero One 8.4v 2200mAh NiMH High Performance Battery for Crane Stocks". Would this be what people suggest for this RIF? What is the difference between that and this http://www.componentshop.co.uk/8-4v-2200mah-4-5sc-nimh-cranestock-battery.html ? If any? Additionally, would this charger be ok? http://www.componentshop.co.uk/600ma-smart-charger-for-7-2-8-4-9-6v-battery-packs.html Open to all suggestions, tips and input. I'm fairly sold on the RIF and the Nimhs, purely for budgeting reasons. But would like to know the right/best battery I can use on this RIF as stock? Thanks in advance, LAFTA
  6. If you don't want to answer people's questions. Then don't, it's pretty simple. It was only the other day there was a thread highlighting the lack of activity on here. Now we have one telling people to not ask questions. I'm a new player, I haven't gone crazy asking questions. Though I was planning on a couple of threads. One regarding batteries/chargers and one about my first RIF. I've done a fair amount of reading but still some thinks aren't making complete sense. It's easy once you 'know it all' to think that the info is out there. But collating it and making sense of all the abbreviations and slang isn't easy for a new player. As far as I can see, airsoft seems to be a very fluid sport. For example, the best deal on a cheap gun, or the best battery to use for a certain outcome can change regularly. Though +1 for your humour. Just wanted to give the view of the newbie.
  7. Too right, just to be clear, that was during the infected warm up game. I knew you where going to be in the rough area where I got hit. So I came back for you! @Esoterick when are you going next?
  8. Was anyone there yesterday? Had a great day with a group of eight of us. We were on the green team. We took the terminator down and had control of him. Though we sent him down the main concourse which probably wasn't the best of uses for him in hindsight. Great day though and looking forward to our next visit.
  9. Off to the Mall this Sunday, 5th July. Anyone attending who fancies showing off their gear to the forum noob?
  10. Very good price, until you get to shipping. $48! I'll be keeping a keen eye on this thread, new player here too and could do with some decent value for money gear.
  11. I'm sure I'll see you on the field then Kaleem. These two seem to be the closest to me. Though we are definitely booking in for the Mall on the 5th, I think Red1 will be next up. Thanks!
  12. Yeah, that looks a bit too advanced for where I am at currently to be honest. Just looking for places to skirmish, that I can hire gear and that don't have strict rules on attire. I don't have the money to pump into it at the moment and want to get a good feel for what I want/need. Thanks though. I think we are booking in for the Mall again on 5th July. Then looking at the school in Kings Langley for our next outing. Thanks all, any other advice is obviously welcome!
  13. Kings Langley isn't far at all. I think a friend mentioned possibly going there. Isn't there another site in Kings Langley too, affiliated with the Quartermaster? Went there for gloves and my own face pro as a starting point. I guess Bunker 51 is not going on the top of the list then! And couldn't find much info on Eversley. Will have a look in the morning. Ta for the replies!
  14. Hello AFUKers, I played my first day of airsoft at The Mall on Sunday. It's been a long time since I've had such a blast. Though my legs are paying the price for all that running, crouching and twisting. I could certainly see myself playing regularly. Some of the lads I went with already have a lot of their own kit. I'm going to be hiring for a while so I can really look into what I NEED. Main reason for the post is to get some recommendations on other sites to play locally. I'm just inside the M25 at junction 16/17. I've seen the school, bunker, sandpit mentioned a lot. Price point and length/quality of gameplay are two main points of interest. Loved Reading but I would like to try some Woodland sites out too. So what's your local site and how is it? And what's your favourite site to play and why? Even if you aren't local then feel free to share, we could be persuaded to travel a little more now and again I'm sure. Hopefully see you in action!
