The 'What have you just bought' Thread
ButcherBill replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Got this from Defcon Airsoft, it's a Double Bell so nothing fancy & is unlikely to ever see any gameplay. It's a base AR for a Colt 9mm SMG build, I'm not a thread counter so I'll get it as close as I can without getting stupid. Got a gas deflector to rattle can then fit, barrel to cut down (where's my dremel?) and the mag release to cut flush in the magwell then Bob's your auntie & Fanny's your craddock. -

Can't thank you enough for the recommendation! They really are amazing boots, have worn them for a few hours so far and honestly forgot I had them on they are that comfortable, paired with some nice merino wool boot socks I don't think I've ever worn footwear quite as comfortable!

Selling as no longer used and now collects dust. It has been used for a while hence the red anodising is starting to wear off of the bolt, this is completely visual wear and does not effect performance. Shoots straight and is plenty accurate up to 70m, I used to use this at an outdoor site so it is completely viable at range. The parts list is below: Loki Hop Unit - Red EDGI Tightbore Inner Barrel - 129mm Maple Leaf Macaron - 70° CowCow Enhance Plastic Nozzle Set CowCow Steel Hammer Set 5KU Aluminium Lightweight Bolt - Red CowCow Adjustable Trigger - Red CowCow Hammer Spring - 140% CTM Nozzle Spring - 180% CTM Recoil Spring - 160% CTM HPA AAP01 To M4 Magazine Adapter Can include tank, reg, line for an extra £70 For any more details please contact me on 07365798474. Very impressive. I see that the price of thermal kit is dropping like a stone these days to a point that i am almost tempted by one of the aliexpress offerings. I believe that most of the cheaper ones can't be used as a sight however - which presumably is your plan?

Bet he'd be sh*t company though. Absolute zero banter.

Heretic Labs Article 1 in black. Bought new in January this year and used for 2 x 20 minute CQB sessions, but I prefer my Glock for indoor and my DMR outside - therefore it's in pretty much new condition. This is the very latest version with the black engine, not the red engine. Original receipt provided. Awesome piece of kit, but not for me. £650 or near offers. Posted for free or collected from Rawtenstall.£650

G&G SSG-1. All black. Just over 12 months old and not used more than 6 times - once outdoors and the rest indoors. Great condition - just a few small marks from BB hits. Everything works as it should. Original mag included, but rarely used as they never feed as well as EMP1's which I use all the time. Genuine G&G thread adapter fitted so you can easily fit a tracer. Lipo included. Free P&P.£225

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

A rather nice set of combats in a Chinese Type 81 camo pattern - 'Tactical Toms' - the quality seems excellent, and the sizing is rather European which caught me out a little. Should be pretty good for lush summer woodland. Quite a fun pattern which I understand was inspired by British DPM originally when it first appeared in the very late 1970's/early 1980's. Oh, and a cheeky Cyma MP5SD. I've plans to pop a Mancraft inside it that is currently unused within one of my M4s, and put a full stock on to turn it into the SD5 version. I must say, out of the box it seems superb, one of the quietest running gearboxes I've encountered and very snappy for a non-mosfet gun. -
11 of us went on the 4th of May to try it out as its massivly hyped up as a good milsim day, sadly it was not. Ive tried 2 times leaving a negative review on the facebook page and twice it has been removed, meaning others who have had a bad experaince cant leave a negative review at all, there isnt even a google review page for the site so that says alot. ( Yorkshire airsoft has a page but it deals with paintball and other activities). So at aface value the place looks great as there are 0 negative reviews for the place. Below is what i tried to post twice. Over hyped? Possibly Over glorified paintball arena? Certainly Ive been and played at many sites but this one takes the biscuit, i dont know what or where the regulars play outside of this site but its certainly below par to what im use too. The game mode thats meant to be milsim was a rather poor exscuse personally, especially when compared to F&Os milsim/battlesims they do. You get given a sheet of paper with timed objectives on and basically told to crack on, no commander, no special objectives nothing milsim about it what so ever, its done this way to make the marshalling easy under the guize as "milsim". Woeful experiance. Ive never been to a site where people are leaving en-mass from 15:00 onwards (me being one of them) so i must imagine the people leaving early shared the same opinion as me towards the site. The website blurb - "well maintained toilets" made me chuckle, dont let the HSE or local council check that out as thats a breech of H&S. (Guest/public still count for head count regarding toilets, not just employees) https://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/toilets.htm This is also a good review from years ago https://stipsniper.com/.../site-review-halo-mill-proving../ The only good thing about the site is the covered area for your kit and thats about it.

So confident and yet so wrong. Private sales are subject to the same laws as shops, whether or not private sellers are as strict as shops is a different matter. You're right that a defence isn't needed for ownership but that's not what we're discussing here. UKARA isn't the only defence and nor is it a legal requirement. A seller just has go be satisfied that the buyer is using it to play airsoft hence why on site shops can sell to players without a site membership. If the vcra was a person it would be old enough to drink in pubs and vote. How are people still getting this wrong?

Airsoft or otherwise I always try and think of this before I drop money on anything!

Volts are volts. The circuit doesn't care about the chemistry of the battery. I've been using lipo batteries exclusively for the past 15 years or so and guess how many guns have had a mosfet. None and how many gins have had failures in that time? Again none. There's alot of bullshit put out about lipos and a hell of a lot of it is sales nonsense specifically designed to part the unwary from their cash by getting them to buy shit they don't need

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
Cannonfodder replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
In the 20 years I've been playing I don't think I've ever had my balls weighed. It's normally a case of being asked what Wright I'm using and the guy chronoing to accept it. Sometimes they'll use their own bbs and watch the flightpath of the shot to make sure it doesn't go straight up after 10 yards. Unfortunately the only sure fire way to prevent people from cheating the chrono is for sites to insist everyone uses their ammo and gas which is only going to drive players away. All that can really be done is to make it such a faff to attempt to cheat that it puts those who want to off and for players to be alert to anyone playing silly buggers. It would also help if sites are seen to be doing something when a cheat is found no matter who they are. I'm sure we've all seen or heard of people cheating and getting away with it as they're a regular and mates with the owner -

For a regular sunday skirmish I can't see the point as even if you do pick up something useful about what one group are doing it won't tell you anything about the what the rest of the other side are doing. It also puts your side 1 gun down and as it would need to be done away from any firefights you won't have overall situational awareness making the player as useful and welcome as a fart in a spacesuit. For milsim I can imagine it could be useful if done right, but as they're already pay to win this would only make me avoid them even more

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
Rogerborg replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
"locked" Spot checking, in the field, with site BBs. Good on you for doing that. More sites should, because anything else is chrono theatre, a way for players to find out if we're likely to fail in-game testing. Most players aren't going to be a problem, so most spot checks will be fine. But there are going to be some rogues, and the goal should be to identify and eject them. If everybody could be trusted, then chrono wouldn't be necessary, right? I mention the Depot as I was spot checked there, and they punted one of their marshals for running hot. I even saw the site runner getting checked by his own marshals once in game - although presumably he'd have had to pick himself up by his own collar and... uh... toss himself off. -
I don’t have a choice, its for a stag do 🤷♂️ It’s right near me too, had no idea it was there! Well I guess if it’s as bad as you as say then a little suffering is good for the soul 😂😂
