It is easier as you know exactly how much material to remove in the hop unit and can test fit as you go. 10mins dremeling and it was sorted, barrel is still securely held without the second notch

Can’t say it’s really ever bothered me. I’d much rather wear a box than the ex-military pelvic protector some are suggesting, I wore one regularly - like wearing inflexible, thick nappy pants, chafed everywhere. Better than losing your Frank & Beans to an IED though I suppose.
