Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 4, 2011 Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2011 I currently have the standard A3 handguards on my M16 and was wondering what different handguard options there are.. I know there are the standard RIS, free float RAS, MagPul handguards, M16A1 handguards and the one I have now.. but what others are there? Also, which looks best and which one is more unique? Thanks. Nickona
yea there are loads! literally tons as for uniqueness but bet would be a RIS/RAS on a full length M16 as you don't see that often
Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 4, 2011 Author Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2011 Which do you prefer? Free float or the standard? What about the MagPul MOE handguards? If they even do airsoft ones for M16?
Nickona
don't really think theres much difference between them, i'd go on the look of the individual one and price as for magpul I would say go all magpul or no magpul one or two bits looks a bit odd and a little cheap tbh
Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 4, 2011 Author Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2011 I was considering all MagPul, but it's a lot to change really..
Nickona
yea an all magpul M16 could be quite cool but don't just get the hanguard, I ahte it when people do that!
Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 4, 2011 Author Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2011 Any ideas on a stock, that still holds a large 8.4v battery?
Nickona
well for a large battery you'd have to have a normal full stock, not sure about magpul stock but you could get a crane stock
Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 4, 2011 Author Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2011 Maybe, anyway.. back to handguards. What railed handguards look best?

Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 4, 2011 Author Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2011 Oh yeah, and they're not any more expensive than other rails.. How exactly do they fit onto the gun though? And where does the gas tube go?
Nickona
That does look sweet!
Supporters Liam Porter Posted December 15, 2011 Author Supporters Share Posted December 15, 2011 Didn't want to make a new topic, so I'll use this one. How do you install the rail? I've spent ages searching and found nothing of any use.. And where does the gas tube go (I guess a how-to on installing it will explain that)? two_zero
ehhh.... no one mentioned troy? Looks darn good and rather than having a full ris but only use tiny bit of it: mount ris where needed. Relatively lightweight as well, even thou this might be opposite to what one wants for airsoft. this is the style m16 i want to get at some point dont know why i love it but i do lol "Say hello to my little friend!" Nickona
and how much would one of those troy handguards be?
Supporters Liam Porter Posted January 9, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted January 9, 2012 Sorry to post on an old topic, but it's related. Decided I'm gonna stick with regular RIS which simply replaces the current handguards and uses the delta rings already on the gun. Will save me messing about taking it apart, etc. But, will the ARES or CA RIS fit on the G&P? And which is the better to get? I'm leaning towards ARES because it comes with rail covers, comes with foregrip and is slightly cheaper.
