What to bring?

Hi guys,
I'm going to my first airsoft game soon. Besides my gun and gear, what else should I bring? Any tips on useful things to take?

If you have them always take more than 1 battery 2 should be a minimum and change it at half way through the day even if the other battery seems ok, last thing you want is to be in a game straight after dinner and the battery died halfway through that game. 

 

Don't forget your eye pro, seen it many times some one has all the gear, a nice clean new gun cool looking chest rig and so on but they forgot about eye pro, don't cheap out on eye pro as ideally it needs to be a minimum of en166s rated. 

 

What mags are you using hi caps or mid caps? Hi caps are good for a beginner as you can carry less weight and bulk but have plenty of ammo on you, whereas mid caps you'll need more mags and have to be weary of how much your firing as mag changes are more common. 

 

I always take a spare change of clothes for incase of any emergencies like slipping or kneeling in mud and and clothes get filthy and you have something clean to travel home in. 

 

Also make sure you either take your gun in the original box as a minimum or a carry bag, don't go carrying it over your shoulder as you want to keep it low key until in the site your attending. 

 

Most importantly take your enjoyment and enjoy your day, don't take it too seriously as your only beginning and don't start arguing with other players and take your hits and you'll get on just fine.

Water and alot of it. Even though the warmer months are gone you'll still sweat more than Gary Glitter getting his hard drive checked and dehydration isn't fun (guess who learned that the hard way). Also avoid drinking too many "energy" drinks like monster etc as they just give you a caffeine high before you crash and feel even worse.

 

Does the site provide lunch l? If not then there's that and even if they do taking a few snacks is a good for a morale and energy boost. Plus you don't have to queue up and it'll save you a few quid 

 

Of course many sites will have drinks and snacks for sale but buying on site will be way more expensive and taking your own means you don't have to queue up and you can take exactly what you like.

Agreed, even if it's just a change of shirt. A shirt drenched in sweat will suck the warmth out of you (and not in a good way😉) when you stop moving and generally be more comfortable

Mainly everything said above. 

If driving, take separate comfy shoes for the drive and a plastic bag to put dirty boots in. 

 

If on public transport make sure NO part of your guns are visible.

Lower face protection in addition to eye protection, or a full face mask like the Dye series, skeletor etc, as hits to the face in CQB games (or just getting suprised close up) can be pretty unpleasant and can result in expensive Dentist bills! Also fingers have lots of nerve endings so gloves are a good idea. Something secure and large enough so its not easy to lose to keep phone, wallet, keys etc in - dropping keys in an outdoors site can be a real nightmare.

Tactical emergency Haribo.

 

Comfy trainers (mostly as I can't drive in my boots) 

 

A couple of t shirts or long sleeve wicking fabric type tops as you will really feel the cold when you stop running about/sweating.

 

Spare eye pro. 

 

Spare battery.

 

Depending on site I sometimes take a camping chair if there's limited/no seating.

 

Barrel sock as some sites say its mandatory.

Now that's a must especially for a any sites that charge for brews or don't have the hot water facilities. (I'm a tight northerner so don't like paying for a brew I can make at home haha.)

in order of priority:

a hearty breakfast

water, in a container you can carry and use in-game.

spare eyepro

good boots

gloves, a zinger to the fingernail hurts like hell

weather appropriate clothing, heavier can help mitigate the sting of bb's, remember that it will likely get mucky or have to wade through spiky undergrowth.

 

you can whip up a gun and ammo on-site usually even if it means renting if you haven't any battle buddies who can lend, and a spare charged battery is definitely useful even if you'll end up lending it out as often as you use it yourself.

 

spare clothes are wise but only to avoid the joyous occasion that driving home coated in muck yields having to clean the car the next day.

Sorry but I don't think drinks like that are a good idea. Yes they'll give you an energy boost on the short term, but when the caffeine and sugar rush wear off you just end up feeling even more knackered. Also caffeine is a diuretic so you'll be even more dehydrated
