Punisher3990 Posted Wednesday at 19:33 Posted Wednesday at 19:33 (edited) Good evening all, I have been looking at slings etc.The idea being that if a CQB situation occurs, i can hang the rifle and draw my sidearm as I have a SA LVOA an its fairly long. Got myself a viper 2 point sling and I then got some sling points from Amazon, these ones: Amazon tat They arrived and seemed solid, i inserted them and tested them out. To my horror, one of them disconnected itself; luckily, I managed to grab the foregrip and save the rifle. I investigated further, and a weak tug on these popped them out incredibly easy Does anyone know of any relaible QD points I can get I do have a video it it popping out really easy. Is this just a poor QD point or are the slots on my gun faulty? 20250831_234903 (1).mp4 Edited Wednesday at 19:34 by Punisher3990 spelling grammar etc HZR13 1
Austeyr Posted Wednesday at 19:39 Posted Wednesday at 19:39 To be honest, QD in airsoft tends to be iffy. Sometimes the replica QD mounts are made too big, other times the QD attachment points are made poorly. The only way to get a "guaranteed" solid QD is unfortunately real steel I've found, which obviously gets expensive pretty fast.

Maybe £30 on a R/S qc sling point, vs the possible damage and repairs that could possibly result in a replica hitting the ground. Personally, I prefer a loop style sling point and use an HK style attachment Just as fast, and I trust it more to support the £100 (how much I told my mrs it cost) gbbr replicas 😉🤫 Lozart, HZR13, Austeyr and 1 other 4

If you’re using a £150 Aeg, spending £80 odd on a way to secure a sling I would consider to be expensive however if you’re putting those same parts onto a £800 GBBR then of course it’s more justified imo HZR13 1

If you're dead set on qd mounts then you're better off spending a bit more on better quality ones but bear in mind there's the chance that it could be the qd slot on the rif that's the problem (not likely but still a possibility). Like Mr Puceflange above, I prefer the HK style sling hook ascites feels far more secure Lyndication, Lozart, HZR13 and 1 other 4
Chev Chelios Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago ULoop from BFG or a derivative is my go to (basically a HK clip that will not bite you and is silent). When buying QDs buy the "anti rotation" versions (so they cant just spin in the cup) and match materials otherwise the steel item will eat the aluminium one rather quickly. Angry Gun make a nice oxide finished stainless steel swivel and is nicer than the "reel steel" BFG ones I got from Tactical Kit. I have no experience with the replica you are using and if its cup for the QD is out of spec put you can take a hammer and punch and add indents to it so it will stop the swivel you have from popping out without being depressed. Just keep checking for sizing as you go.
Punisher3990 Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Thank you for all of the advice. Ultimately, I just want a secure place to put my sling so I can rest my arms a bit and have a bit more support if i need to lower my rifle to draw my sidearm in CQB. Since I put a M16-style stock on the back, which has removed the upper rear sling bracket (its on the bottom instead) I figured I would try the QD points built into the stock (these are the second area I tested on my video and they also pop out) I have found this one, which may work for now. I have a game on Sunday, so I need one quite quickly. Will this work? I definitely feel like I would prefer a keymod solid sling loop after almost dropping it before and I like the look of the one posted by Enid_Puceflange. How well that will work with the other sling point being under the stock I am unsure. Edited 7 hours ago by Punisher3990 Spelllling
