That is a decision that only you can make.  Was your post a question, a statement or a really bad attempt at haiku?

In that case we should double down... 16 & a mahoosive chest rig to carry them.

And a few on the back for his or her buddies to grab if they need them; that should get it up to at least 20, which sounds like a decent number.

Now THAT's team thinking.

is a bandolier a bit kitsch or a necessity?

A bandolier seems sensible and is probably a necessity.  What about drop leg mag pouches as well?  A couple on each leg would be useful.

This was the one which got me

"Base Dot Matrix Pattern:

This feature allows for personalized magazine marking with a marker or paint pen for ownership identification, magazine load distinction, etc."

Do they really think no other magazine can be written or drawn on?

Aye but overkill gets you killed, as evident from these historic images from AKTULE badasses...

Why would anyone need their magazine to be self lubricating? If they dont fit then maybe pts should just make them the right size

It won't be for fitment into the magwell but for the spring and follower inside it. I'd be assuming that only the seperate internal part of the mag, not it's shell, is made with the impregnated plastic.

Hey, it's a perfectly adequate size.

In that case I'd be worried about the lubricating stuff leaving a residue inside the channel which can get transferred to the bbs next time the mag is filled causing problems with hop up

That's not really how self lubricating plastic works.

Fair enough. How do they work without leaving anything behind?

This might explain it a bit https://readingplastic.com/self-lubricating-plastic/

To be honest it's all bit beyond my own personal ken, but it comes up quite a lot in the kind of work we do (automation, machine control etc).

I think in some cases "self-lubricating" is a bit misleading, as they really mean "low friction".

PTFE is a good example, it's very low friction and often described as self-lubricating but it's not like it has absorbed lubricant that can leak from it, it's just an inherently low friction/wear-resistant material. Acetal/Delrin is another example.

I think Oilite was one of the first "true" self-lubricating materials, a porous bronze impregnated with oil for use as bushings and plain bearings.

You can 100% paint pen on any mag, but the matrix is a fairly prominent feature of the de facto global gold standard of 556 magazines - https://magpul.com/pmag-30-ar-m4-gen-m3.html?mp_global_color=118

Military customers want it, as do many civilian shooters; it's probably stipulated in some government contracts too I'd imagine. Just means the paint in the recesses basically won't ever rub off, or not for a very very long time. More longevity of marking even if the user is crawling around in middle eastern sand all day every day for months on end. Still a minor feature, but it essentially costs the exact same to manufacture each mag with or without the matrix, so for people who need markings that will last under rough handling they might as well include it. Obviously irrelevant for airsofters but then again of course so is 90% of what people buy for airsoft.
