This might be old news to some, but I just discovered 'French Cleats'.

 

They look really good and easy to DIY.  Think I'll be setting up one of my shed walls with this stuff, when I get round to it.

I grabbed a cheap metal shelving unit off Marketplace and chucked some boxes on it for gear—works fine, and I can see everything easily without rummaging through bags.
