Hi,

I’ve recently got myself my first pistol, an AAP-01. Now I am looking for a holster for that pistol. I will probably attach it to a belt (I could attach one via molle to the side of the plate carrier but that feels too high up).

Anyway I regress. What holsters would you recommend that secure the pew pew while being able to draw it quickly. I can see 3d printed ones on eBay. Has anyone tried it?
What other options are there (without spending too much).

Thanks for your help

There's 3 I use, but I'll list them in order of preference. All allow me to run a suppressor, but only the last allows me to run a flashlight (not too bothered about flashlights as I play woodland)

Warrior Assault Systems universal holster - £50

https://www.uktactical.com/product/warrior-universal-pistol-holster-olive-drab-10557

Amomax universal holster - £17

CTM AAP-01 holster - £30

https://www.skirmshop.co.uk/aap01-high-speed-holster-black.html

The latter two can be mounted on a belt using one of these:

If you're looking to run it on a regular belt, the Warrior Assault Systems one won't work for you as that is molle mounted. I run it on a molle belt. The other two can be mounted on a regular belt just fine though.

I use a Deadly Customs dedicated holster.

https://deadlycustoms.co.uk/product/action-army-aap-01-kydex-dc1-series-holster-2/ this is for the stock plastic upper

https://deadlycustoms.co.uk/product/action-army-aap-01-kydex-dc1-series-holster-black-mamba-kit-version/ this (the one I have) is for the Black Mamba upper.

These don't allow you to use a torch, there are other DC options for that, just look around the website.

Quality wise they're awesome, very secure fit (almost too tight) so you won't lose your gun nor your mags in the field.

Personally it's the CTM all the way for me as you can mount absolutely anything you want on the AAP-01 and still use it (edit: even the foldable stock if you want, and I did this for a short while), plus it comes with included attachments for both belts and molle (however for molle you'll need a Malice clip).

Two things to be aware of though are always use thread lock with its bolts so they don't work lose and it does not work with adjustable / speed triggers.

You can't use an aftermarket adjustable trigger unless you're willing to dremel some material off the holster or you keep the stock adjustment.

May I ask why you prefer the first two over the CTM?

They both also work with the other GBBs I like using is definitely part of it. The Warrior Assault Systems one is amazing for my HK45 and decent for the p226 and the Amomax is great with everything (but not quite as nice as the WAS one). Both still work with a suppressor, which is my main thing because I like putting suppressors on everything.

But in all honesty, I just don't really like the CTM as much. I prefer the retention releases on the other two (WAS one is best in my opinion as it's the same push as a mk23 DTD holster) and the CTM is a sort of lever mechanism. It also takes more molle strips than the other two as I have mine mounted on a Blackhawk mount. Also need to have it done up very tight on that mount, which makes the retention lever to release it a little sticky. People probably have better setups than me, but I'm just not a fan. I'd probably be more of a fan if I had my AAP in some sort of body kit that gave it a stock and made it more of an SMG, but it isn't. I either run it as an older fashioned Ruger .22 for Vietnam games, or a modern Ruger .22 sneakyboi pistol for modern kits; I use the same lower but just swap the uppers.

Thanks for all the replies. I went for the CTM in the end as I intend on adding a flash light to the AAP.

So I’ve ordered the CTM from Skirmshop and as @Impulsesaid in his post that you can mount it with the Amomax belt clip and that the website even states this and that the mount is not included:

The holster is also compatible with Amomax belt and molle mount! This is not included with this holster.

I went ahead and ordered the Amomax belt clip thinking that the CTM itself doesn’t have a belt clip.

As it seems the CTM does come with a belt clip so I am currently wondering what the benefits of the Amomax belt clip are over the clip that comes with the CTM.
Being able to adjust the belt width is one thing and I thought the other one would be that the gun can swivel with the Amomax. However I’ve got a few question about this.

The CTM comes with two other backing plates, which of the 3 is the correct one to use with the Amomax and secondly, if I just attach it with the centre screw it is fairly likely that the whole setup will rattle itself lose and I end up with leaving the AAP somewhere on the field.

Do you just use Thread lock once you’ve tightened the screw enough to be secure while still being able to rotate the holster slightly?

No experience with the CTM, so I can't answer the first part of your question. But re. your second - rotate the holster to your preferred angle and then fully tighten the centre screw (good idea to use loctite - blue- but I've never needed to). Don't leave it slightly loose otherwise it will be spinning around in no time like some kind of weaponised comedy bow tie.
