Supporters Samurai Posted January 22, 2020 Supporters Share Posted January 22, 2020 All the time. I'm a hoarder. I was thinking of making some kind of airsoft charity as selling them is not worth the hassle. Only if there was a way to give it to people who actually want them. Would be a cool idea to give stuff to sites to use as rentals or something along those lines maybe?
remus
an idea along thise lines would be like from a nerd shop i used to work in had a bits box- unused parts could be put in and taken out- donations got you free stuff or a slight charge if noting to donate. course it was well drilled over all the time but was popular enough. course you need to keep an eye on it and occasionally be ruthless and throw out the crap cause it soon stacks up. course im of a mindset of use everything- old camo id cut up and use as decor on walls, bullky gun parts ot make a gun throne... etc... Smiling-Dutchman
We had quite a lot of stuff like that at the paintball/airsoft field I worked at. Was great because we gave it out to use to anyone who wanted it and whenever it broke it didn't matter. Also quite a lot of stuff left by stag party's (or is it bachelor party's in England?) Also great when you can't find a flag for CTF, one time I used a dolls head, everybody loved it

Hen parties for the ladies Bachelor / Bachelorette parties are an Americanism .... which does sneak into the language. I have many weird and wonderful random items in my collection over time, and a wider collection of oddities which have been used for props. One fun one was a simple Bin Laden mask and dish dash on a dummy which I made sure that I was seen ‘rushing’ out to hide at the last moment before we started the next mission ..... find Bin Laden. Once players thought they were looking for a dummy to pick up I hid away and changed clothes from the dummy. In this mission all the factions had to align together, find my hideaway, smash it down and capture me. (They were to be unsuccessful due to my final moment suicide, for me to later appear with a mask change as zombie Bin Laden) With two whole factions firing down a corridor at my defences while I screamed abuse at them, fired and ducked etc gameplay was stopped to check if I was still OK. Everyone was enjoying shooting down my walls and I was enjoying the battering..... Until I decided it was time to blow the place up. For a children in the corn game I led the Church of the Righteous and Pure, so built a CRaP staff with a bakers peel for the staff, strapped on a ‘cross’ from a dressing table mirror, and crucified a corn dolly on it. At the pregame party my opposition were trying to steal my staff, but it was firm in one hand with my wine bottle in the other. They failed to notice that during the game I would start off my side waving it around then left it unattended at our home base - so they could have just flanked and picked it up. For the final mission I was in the middle of the corn waving the staff up above the corn then using it to lean out of each corner and flick flag stations to my side. In the last year I’ve been buying up old Barbie dolls etc in auctions, with the ultimate aim of a doll graveyard at some future event — the only problem is going to be picking the right venue and storyline for it to make sense. Too many things have been going on in recent years to get one of our Halloween horror games back up and running

Would be interesting for a horror game, but seems to me bigger baby dolls could me more suitable since those are slightly larger(?)

I keep an eye on chat rooms/fb/discord etc, get a feeling for someone then send them so stuff. I’ve given kit and guns to people in the recent past 👍

Explaining the dolls is the easiest option in comparison to many of my other purchases. The idea was inspired by this piece pictured below. I prefer to have the opinion that it was from someone’s art project and makes a political statement about the worship of commercialisation and multi national corporations. Otherwise there’s some worrying devil worship going on locally. The bigger baby doll type, as per the head, would be more suitable for a game prop / collectible objective etc. But they crop up in the auctions a lot less often. Barbies etc come by the batch. I’m likely to nail them up to crosses, fence posts, doorways etc - and in some ways can mark a route, give clues etc
