ASG MK23 newbie help

Hi.

A little background first. Purchased an ASG Mk23 Socom pistol form my son before Christmas as an into into Airsoft. He'd used it a hand-full of times at Phoenix Airsoft in Notts where him and his mate were well looked after and made to feel very welcome and part of it all. During on skirmish, he lost the mag. I purchased another mag but found that the pistol was firing one or two BB's and than blank firing. After a little investigation and messing, we find that slightly pulling the orange painted slider, would clear the jam/reload and it would fire on or two more rounds.

I've approached the retailer we used with a similar story as that above, and even a video of the fault. The retailled claim that as this is not a 'blowback' pistol that the act of pulling the slider pack would cause damage ?
I mentioned that the slider would have had to have been pulled back and removed in order for them to orange paint it. The replay was that sliding / remove once was OK, yet repeated sliding would cause damage. The 'slider' is spring loaded, and looks to me that is designed to slide in order to either cock, or clear any jams in the mechanism inside (why would the manufacturer install a feature thjat if used would cause damage?)

The retailer has offered to 'investigate' but if any damage is would then I would be charged - kind of understandable but the fact is that the pistol worked fine with the first mag, and jammed with the replacement.

Help..

Where do I go from here ??

Thanks for your time.

I have the TM Mk23 which is non-blowback, the top slide moves so that you can remove it to access the dial to adjust the hop-up.

Do you have a second magazine? Would be useful to test the difference. With TM mags I would expect at least 2 full mags before refilling with gas, and ASG ones should be similar allowing the complete mag to be fired without stopping.  Cold gas will not be as effective as warm gas which is why gas guns perform better in the summer, so try warming the mag up in you hand/pocket for a bit and then test how it works.

How are you filling your mags? They are double stack so if the BBs are not properly aligned it could cause a problem with mis-feeding. I use a speedloader from the top of the mag to make sure the BB feed correctly, and it is easier than trying to pull the sping down and feed them in from the side (on TM mags).

What BBs are you using? And was the mag a TM Mk23 mag or an ASG Mk23 mag?

Try it again, if it blank fires, just try tapping the bottom of the mag, and let us know if this solves the issue.

Have had a problem with the mags holding a certain brand of BB without allowing it to feed.

Cocking it will not damage it. The fault sound like a sticky nozzle which has more than one cause and it could need a shave of the pick up. These are common issues with the mk23 but easily solved once diagnosed which is not easily done without seeing it in the flesh. this site has info which will help  https://www.onmymk.com/ .

Thank you for highlighting the grammatical error of the user of "it's" on that introduction. We'll look at correcting that issue in the near future.

To reinforce Sharkies comment, a minor reshape and shortening of the BB feeder below the nozzle should fix the no feed issue
