sonofsammo Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 What is a reasonable expectation if your RIF is buggered within a couple of weeks of buying it - And you have not altered it in any way and used the recommended battery / BBs etc..
BigStew Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 if you bought it new the shop has to fix or replace it.
MisterG Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Sale of goods act applies, if it is that new you could even insist on your money back. But if there is any damage outside will be harder to state your case. Cheers G
Supporters Adolf Hamster Posted July 8, 2018 Supporters Posted July 8, 2018 I swear this is why they put tamiya plugs on everything, so they dont have to warranty it if the first thing i do is chop it off for a proper connector....

Thankfully I haven't "upgraded" it - so for a change it's a gun I've not knackered myself....

Supporters Rogerborg Posted July 9, 2018 Supporters Posted July 9, 2018 In principle, you absolutely should expect a repair or replacement. In practice, it's going to come down to the attitude of the retailer whether it's as straightforward as it should be. I'd keep a a written record of correspondence with them, a video of the gun not working, and fire in with a chargeback / small claim the instant they start with any delaying tactics or "That's owner abuse, that is." Best of luck.
sonofsammo Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 Thanks chaps ? Went back to Urban Airsoft in Normanton today. They were helpful and friendly, as always - Chap asked what had happened, so I explained. I also mentioned it was only 9 days old, which shocked him. He spoke to the manager, who had a look and said - what do you want to do? I asked what my options were Repair this one, or get a new one..... So a new one it was! Took it on the range..... 356fps Bugger.... Went and got another one.... 347fps. Perfick.! Now to dominate! I was really impressed with the staff there - nothing was a problem and it all got sorted out with the minimum of fuss. Happy days! ?
Supporters Rogerborg Posted July 9, 2018 Supporters Posted July 9, 2018 Brilliant, it's great to hear that. Big ups to https://urbanairsoftuk.com/, I'll be putting them on the list of retailers to consider.
