Hi All,

I am thinking of going to this Tier 1 event in October as its based in Thetford so only 1hr (ish) from me...

http://www.tier1militarysimulation.com/intel/2013/08/operation-deadlight-a-36hr-tier-1-obua-combat-operation-stanta-11-13-october-2013/

HOWEVER, it will be my first proper proper MILSIM (Ive done a few Urban Assault ones) but Tier1 seems to take it to the next level

Has anyone been?

I know probably 85% of the people going will probably be running Systemas and 'proper' gear which concerns me that they will have the attitude to go along with it - I could be wrong!

I think 36hrs of urban fighting and at night would be really good, especially with the role play, however, I don't want 36hrs of being looked down on by not having 'Gucci' kit especially when I am paying £95 for the pleasure

Any feedback would be welcome!

Cheers,

Tal

I have been to 3 Tier one events and i will tell you this now, these events are hardcore, expect to be on stag at weird times of the day or night, not getting much sleep. but apart from that the events are very well run. You will need to ensure you have everything to survive the whole weekend as there is no food on site. Everything needs to be done in a tactical manner during the whole event as well.

If your afraid of being looked down on because you don't have gucci kit, then don't worry as this don't happen. The people that attend these events are not your normal type of airsofter that you see at your normal skirmish days.

All I will say is, that's if you got ensure you read all the information that is sent to you before the event. As it contains a lot of information about the weekend's tasking's broken down for each force that are being portrayed in the event. But most of all at these events is to enjoy yourself and test yourself.

If I have any money around then, I'll go to the Stirling event at Catterick - OP: NIGHTWING

A mate just invited me via fb. Never been to either, but yeah, Catterick is much easier for me than Norfolk.

Maybe if more forum members go to the Stirling Milsim I will pop up as I am missing out on the Zero weeknder for the 2nd year running :(

Yeah, a chance to put faces to names is always a good thing, I say. Bummer on NAE - sort your life out you daft cnut!

Yeah, terrorist me. I recently bought an OD AK mag chest rig that i think would be perfect and a Chinese made FG/black shemagh + night urban kecks and a hoodie = good to go.

Frustrates me that the uniform requirements are always MTP, AOR1 and the likes. The one time I've seen MARPAT on the list it was Desert MARPAT.

Wish I could rock up in my woodland MARPAT as opposed to buying new uniforms.

You could play a terrorist in woodland MARPAT.

Yeah I understand that, just frustrating if you dont want to go down that route.

Ian, as unrealistic as that sounds do you reckon I could? Hmm.. Marpat and an m14 I'd look like a rogue Marine who'd stole his grandaddy's rifle. Could always rough up my m4, it doesn't look very tactical at all anyway.

You may see me there fellas!

Woodland MARPAT is "green camo" Ted, as required by the Uniform Rules, so yeah I don't see any reason why not. Maybe wrap some shemagh/rags/net/shredded green &/or brown towel around one of your rifles...
