I may work in education, KCSIE will be followed, I'd agree this is an over reaction but per standard procedues probably unavoidable in current day. There are people in education with a reasonable logical head screwed on, but the people you will be reffered to will most likely not be those people. (Fingers crossed you do get a free thinking person) But just be calm and express in a non-crazed articulate manner and hopefully they understand. I was heavilly into military history and weapons by 6-8, begging to join the cadets by 10. So many fond memories of shooting BB guns in the back garden. I'd had been really bummed if this happened to me. Our country's education sector has been absolutely infested with people who think anything right of Lenin is "far right extremism" to the point where I've seen people I know with borderline socialist beliefs being labelled as "far right". I was a trainee teacher once upon a time (managed to fail my placement without failing a single assessment or observed lesson, and also taming the "problem class" that I was told I would never get on-side 🤔), and I have worked at a university since then and have seen this kind of stuff be all too commonplace. Anyway, I'll step down from my soapbox before I really get started 😂

I have so many thoughts on this (@Tackle above mentioned some of them), but in short you have done nothing wrong and the school has wildly overreacted and it's awful that they're doing this; I'd love to say you shouldn't need to protect yourself and your son from the SS (phrasing done intentionally), but honestly... better safe than sorry with those corrupt bureaucrats. I was interested in all the same things at his age and my parents taught me to shoot with air rifles when I was 9; I had my own air rifle and the ammo both stored in my room because I was taught well and my parents trusted me to not do anything stupid. I was then in army cadets and I loved all the shooting and fieldcraft stuff there, then I started airsoft at about the same time. I was never reported to Prevent for being radicalised. Surely the first step would be to ascertain whether there actually is grounds for a report by talking to the parents about it and getting some context and/or seeing if the parents themselves are loonies (which it very much doesn't sound like you are!). It feels like in a five step process they've just decided to skip out steps 2, 3 and 4 and go straight to 5.

So that'll be 3 former-prison sites now just under the UCAP umbrella? Plus I think there's another one or two around the UK? Be interesting to know what it is about a prison that seems to make the locations less ripe for repurposing than any other plot of land or big old building that's often (briefly) used as a skirmish site. Would just cost mega bucks to demolish and turn in to flats perhaps, but they're not all in bad locations to say the least. As to which type of place would be more likely to close, I'd say that if anything a better site has slightly more chance of being shut down, certainly anywhere that's in an easy-to-reach location or with anything approaching usable buildings. If you take 2 sites that were, for the sake of argument, run to the exact same levels and frequented by the exact same customers, but one is more interesting to play at because of whatever is already built there, then there will probably be slightly more chance of that location being interesting to businesses that have/make serious money i.e. not airsoft. -
Ahoy and welcome. The EP-01 will be fine, they're not going to break from airsoft energy impacts, although I'd agree that pretty much anything from the Bollé range can be trusted. You may have issues with fogging though, it's the bane of many an airsofter. I like dual-pane lenses like the Pyramex I-Force. You'll have to find out for yourself if you're a fogging victim. If you are, having a pair of mesh goggles in your bag can save your day. Lower face, a mix of mesh and fabric gives you a good balance of protection and cheek-weldability. The original brand of these is OneTigris, but there are cheaper equivalents now.

Not quite sure what he replaced. Only charged £10 so assume it wasn’t anything major. It looks like the tube wouldn’t line up if I install it at 180 degree. From the test fire, the bb went into the tube. It just didn’t shoot out. I’m thinking it’s now the firing mechanism that’s broken.

Only change hammer spring if it's light striking. Heavy hammer springs do not increase the gas output high flow mag valves will, but that can increase the cool down and possible venting in the cold. If anything if you can get away with a lighter hammer spring this will make it cycle easier.

My 3.5" is on its way! I love taking a revolver out for a bit of style on the field. The Rhinos are eminently skirmishable - much more consistent than the DW 715. I get a lot of fun from both - but at over a kilo each and chunky I'd like something smaller on the belt as a tertiary. You really cannot beat the look/feel of a shell loader - plus the style of getting kills is something else. The different design of the shells & chamber looks like it'll be a much more efficient seal - the wingun models suffer with consistency thanks to this - the DW being the worst. They're fine for sub 20m but anything over this is a bit hit & miss. At the moment I'd say the H8R gen 2 is probably the best revolver. You're not getting hi-capa/1911 range but its good out to 30m, maybe a little more. Ares have confirmed that these 2 models will hit the UK in April, with the combat (assuming these are the ones with rails) & hopefully alternative grips in May. If they've sorted out the consistency & have a decent hop (I've had it confirmed its a TDC style one) then its a game changer. There's a youtube video of a chap who had an early copy & he has found its superior to the wingun platform in everyway. Currently investigating getting the S&W trades laser engraved on mine. The HK retailers that offer this at the moment are very reasonably priced but their shipping to the UK is extortionate, so I'll get that done here.
