  1. <but-why.gif> The X-ASR just does trigger protection and (maybe) allows for more current slow. However, it also likes to pet its lip if you are running a meatier motor and spring. Something like a Perun AB++ gives you far more features. Motor and/or run 11.1V. I like the Big Dragon M140 as a decent improvement over stock motors for not a lot of money when bought direct from Ali Express. Heaver BBs, clean the barrel and maybe fit a Maple Leaf bucking (e.g. 60 yellow) and omega nub. The stock M90 spring in the Specnas can benefit from being swapped out for something stronger, but air seal uber alles, and I'd always recommend buying a chrono first before doing anything that might effect the muzzle energy.
  2. The main benefit for body worn type cameras is so that you get an impartial view of events. Ppl are awful for providing evidence, of anything. Let's have them everywhere I say
  3. I go with twist the hood from the bottom until about half remains and then fold the resulting “pocket” over the twist. It’s possible to secure it with the draw cord but almost anything else is easier! If you use the hood as a tie out as well it tends to avoid it somewhat. I’ve linked an old video by PackRat556. I have no stand for the phone to film and a video explains this much better. I don’t use reflective sheets quite the way he describes. It is a moisture barrier but you need an air gap for it to reflect heat so an air pad is needed. If you have a fire it would be more effective as the back wall. My technical support agrees. Next chunk will be general tarps and a ridgeline you can change easily. Plus a few useful but cheap accessories. Then maybe something on hygiene! The cat walked mud in. 🙄

I offer SOFTWARE for Arduino stopwatches with a second counter for Airsoft, Paintball game - Capture Point game mode. Project description: Domination Timer is a device - a stopwatch for sports such as Airsoft, Paintball, which allow you to measure the time of occupying a point with a resolution of seconds. The stopwatch is equipped with a 16x2 / 20x4 LCD character display. After switching on the device, it is possible to switch between menu items on the display using the rotary encoder - KY-040. Through the items, it is possible to start the Domination Timer game mode, which responds to user buttons (inputs), or it is possible to set the time of team occupancy before the game in the configurable mode. This parameter represents the required length of holding the button until the team successfully occupies the point. This configurable parameter is implemented for the number of seconds. The second configurable parameter is the automatic end of the game to reach a certain number of hours of the stopwatch with the UNLIMITED option - when the stopwatch counts to infinity, or after the maximum display time on the display - 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds. Stopwatch is using Arduino microcontroller (with AtMega chip) or a it can use that chip stadalone. Chip controls whole Domination Timer settings, logic of stopwatch etc. There are 2 teams in the game - RED team and GRE team, which play against each other and occupy the imaginary point that is formed by this device - Domination Timer. At the beginning of the game, the display shows the times 00 hours, 00 minutes, 00 seconds for RED team, GRE team. Button Domination Timer uses button input for the action of occupying a point by a team member, as well as for input of a referee entity. Thus, a total of 2 buttons for 3 system entities, the switching buttons connected in the INPUT_PULLUP mode are used. Pressing the button feeds the GND signal to the Arduino digital input terminal (Active-LOW switching signal). Switch buttons are used, not switch buttons (they would not react to the system logic, all software would always be "pressed"). The configurable Domination Timer responds to the length of the press, which is set in the configuration menu via an encoder. It is required to hold the button for a given time. The system does not respond to short presses. In the extended version, it is also possible to set point neutralization (stopping the time of the active team at the point if a member of the other team holds the button at least 50% of the required time) The times are displayed on an LCD character display measuring 16x2 or 20x4, which communicates with the control microcontroller via the I2C bus. If a team member of the RED team occupies a point by pressing a button, a buzzer is launched, which announces a change in the point with a short beep. Then the RED team's LED at this station will light up and the display will start adding time for that team. If the point is occupied by the GRE team and the team member presses the appropriate button, the buzzer sounds again, the GRE team LED lights up, the RED time is paused and the time of the GRE team that occupied the point is counted. The referee must stop both buttons at the same time to stop both times. Times are stopped until the point is reoccupied by some of the teams in the system This type of input is thus suitable for starting a break, but it can also end the game for its evaluation. In the case of the COUNTDOWN game mode, the combination of both buttons is intended to stop the countdown time! The new game is implemented by resetting the entire Arduino board via the RST button, or by disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply. In the menu it is also possible to configure the activity / inactivity of the buzzer, which can also be included in the game. Domination Timer game mode uses a buzzer to announce the current occupation of a point. Eraser does not exist in this type of Domination Timer. A second game can be implemented in the system - countdown, which allows you to set a minute countdown while it must be stopped. The player stops the countdown by holding both buttons for a certain time (based on the configuration menu for the length of pressing from Domination Timer). Configuration menu is divided into: Start of the game DOMINATOR (2 teams) Setting the time for filling a point (how long the player should hold the button - X seconds) Set maximum game length (unlimited / X hours) ON / OFF detector in the game Countdown setting for countdown game (X hours) Start of game COUNTDOWN (1 team) All times and settings are stored in the EEPROM memory of the Arduino, they are available even after disconnecting and connecting the power supply, it is a non-volatile memory. The transcription limit is at the level of 100 thousand. The display is limited to a maximum of 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds. The 16x2 and 20x4 LCD display is fully compatible. Hardware inventory: Arduino Uno / Nano / standalone AVR chip AtMega328P LCD character display 16x2 / 20x4 I2C converter for LCD display 2x buttons (switch) 360 ° rotary encoder - e.g. KY-040 (or similar) 2x LEDs Optional - buzzer I offer the program in .hex machine code (compiled firmware), so you can't edit or change anything of webapp. The project can be tested in advance in a test version with a measurement of max. 1 minute for each team. The program in .hex can be uploaded to Arduino via the AVRDUDE tool, or Xloader, which has a graphical interface for easier control. Firmware is available for I2C communication address of LCD display 0x27 or 0x3F. More about project: https://martinius96.github.io/Airsoft-DOMINATOR-RFID/en/dominator-encoder.html Alternative contact: [email protected] Shareware version of project: Project can be tested for free in shareware version that i available on project website. It have some limitations, like... Maximum game time 1 minute in DOMINATION game mode. After this time both times will be paused. Also there is not possible to use COUNTDOWN game mode. If you don't have hardware yet, you can try it in Wokwi simulator: https://wokwi.com/projects/345627939761554003

Cyma CM041 H MP5 in great condition, used for around 3 skirmishes in total but I'm slowly becoming a GBBR convert and want to free up some funds for a new purchase/upgrades. These are great RIFs out of the box and have a lot of great reviews. Apart from the Cyma standard mosfet is made from cheese, but this has been replaced. Running on 11.1v Li-po's this is shooting around 25rps and is reaching out to around 60m on .28s-.30s. Internal upgrades of: Rocket O ring air nozzle Perun V2 Hybrid mosfet Maple Leaf Macaron 60 deg bucking and Omega nub Wired to Deans Comes with: 2 x Cyma polymer 130rnd Midcaps 1 x Cyma 500rnd Hicap I'm open to swaps. Mainly looking for SMG's/GBB's as a preference and not particularly interested in anything 'speedsofty' (sorry, just not my thing).

  6. I'm trying to make my G&P XM177E2 as best as it can be from parts I have. The E&C gearbox has a gate Aster installed already, I've shimmed it myself and has incredible consistency on the airseal (so much so, the site chrono-er commented on it). The G&P gearbox is untouched from whenever it was made years ago. My questions are: Can (or should) I just drop the E&C gearbox straight into my XM177E2 body? If I should swap some parts around, what ones? I noticed the nozzle on the G&P is metal. I don't have calipers to measure unfortunately. If everything is better on the G&P, will I have to cut anything away to fit the Aster? I have minimal tools as I've just moved to where I am and couldn't bring anything with me. I also have a ZCI rotary hop left over from a previous build, should I replace the G&P metal one? The dial is very stiff. Any help greatly appreciated.
  7. On the cooker side of things, heard great things about alpkits bru kit, which is a copy of the jet boils and are about £50. I was always a fan of a hot chocolate flavoured protein porridge just before sleep, generally meant there was hot water for a metal bottle with a sock around it to act as a hot water bottle. Anything that helped me get good sleep in the 4-5 hours of rest I'd get was very welcome. Wet clothes were removed, but important clothes I'd have to wear again were generally added to my sleeping bag to dry them out (or at least keep them warm, warm wet clothes were better than freezing wet clothes).

picked this up about a year ago, have yet to actually mount it to anything for longer than a few minutes, to test. Doesn’t quite fit the aesthetics of any of my builds. Works perfectly (actually slightly better than my HW exps optics.) Holy Warrior are the MVPs of Chinese repro optics. Doesn’t really get better than this, unless you’re willing to drop the £850 for a legitimate uh-1 g2. selling as I need to downsize.

  9. Agreed, I'll use just about any gunk in a gearbox, but for sliding parts, only lightweight oil (3-in-1) for metal to metal, or silicone lube for anything involving plastic.
  10. Back in the good old days (early 90s) I used to shoot practical pistol, real guns, shooting through and around set obstacles. More recently (late 10s) I dabbled with practical shotgun and 3Gun. Same thing, following a course of fire, shooting around or through set obstacles against a timer with penalties for missed targets etc. So, so much fun. I see that there is a company darn sarf that does an airsoft version but I cant find anything national. Is there a national association, league or anything? If not, why? Has it been tried and failed or just not something that's been tried?
  11. I'm not "getting off" on anything, just saying how the OP comes across to me. Imo repetitively asking after being told no is hardly a sign of maturity
  12. Dad is saying it's illegal. It's not. It doesn't sound like a rule thing, but an ignorance thing. Where do you get off judging the OPs maturity. You've no basis to to do this, one hyperbolae doesn't do that. Nothing immature in the post and the thread does not suggest anything about the character of the OP. This guy has written a well structured to the point, polite request for advice.
  13. Buying and selling under 18 = illegal Owning and playing under 18 = legal Gifting or being gifted under 18 = legal So the solution is ask your dad to buy it, then gift it to you, as a gift, buy he will only be able to buy an IF (two-tone) without a UKARA so that is what you can get for now When you are 18 and get your own UKARA you can buy anything you want
  14. Scran What to eat and drink? Instant soup and drink mixers are the simplest and quickest. They are warming and provide energy. Screach can be consumed hot but it doesn’t isn’t any better. Although the sugar rush is as addictive. I tend not to brew up using tea bags. They just bring back too many bad memories… especially in the woods at night. In most situations snacks can be stored in spare corners of your kit. The traditional military biscuit will also help you by avoid the need to go to the toilet for then next day or too. 😉 A good filling and light weight option is instant porridge. If you are an athlete then performance gels might be your thing. If you do want something more filling then the options can be summarised as: 1a) Self heating meals (as CannonFodder mentions). You can sometimes find inexpensive ones in the supermarket. The are quite a few adventure travel ones, bit pricier. 1b) Or the military MRE heaters but I find them a faff as they don’t really work for a hot drink so you might as well use a stove. They are a lightweight back up if you carry ration packs. The above are flame less so some situations they maybe useful. However if you are carrying a canteen cup and stove might as well use it. 2) “Dry” dehydrated meals. These are very light. And could be anything from a pot noodle 😱 to a mountain meal. Generally just add hot/boiling water and eat from bag. 3) “Wet” meal ration packs and boil in the bag. Heavier but pre-cooked so they can be rated cold if needed. If cost is a factor just make bolognaise and put it in freezer bags, ones you can cook in are available. Cooking time generally 8-10 minutes. 4) Cooking direct in cup. Certainly do able but then you need preparation time and clean space. People may get upset at you catching and gutting the local coneys however. Options 3 & 4 are more suitable for use with a mess tins. But if you are in a team at a base camp you can more readily cook for the group in one go.

  16. It's been a long (and I mean years) time since I had the chance to use my old L85 in anger at all. So, I'm planning a complete internal and external RIS rebuild. Now cards on the table, I'm not the best at this sort of thing so, I've had a read around and can't seem to find out. Does anyone know if there was ever an upgrade complete mech box for the ICS L85. Really, I want to put a mosfit on it, new 11.1 LiPo and it will need a lot gearbox work to get that right. In terms of the hop, I customised it years ago to take account of the useless rotary arm thing. I ended up using a filed down arm and ball shaped bucking. In fairness, the rage was always awesome but, RoF was always very poor. Anyway I think we are at the limits of my ignorance here so, rather than get anything else wrong, I thought I'd ask the hive mind for any advice. Anyone rebuilt, any idea where to get parts, fitting mosfet etc. Thanks in advance
  17. I was in the same spot as you, i recently wanted to make a hi capa build which wasn't a speedsoft esque gun. And the only options I really had were guarder. I had to do cut off a small bit of BBU (which guarder state you have to do) to get the stock blowback unit to fit and ever so slightly file the screw hole that secures the blowback unit to the slide. But it wasn't anything strenuous. I managed to fit it onto my stock frame no problem, paired with a 5KU outer barrel that doesn't tilt. Works like a dream. The criticism from knuckles is warranted. However the current market trend for hi capa slides are more suited to speed soft builds. In short, you get what you pay for.
  18. Not disputing the fact that have done and continue to offer high-end upgrade packages but the first question I always ask is 'what's your budget' followed by 'what are you looking to achieve'. From there, I can tailor each build to the customer's specific requirements. Side note, I have never built anything with solely Prommy internals I always select each component based on its own merit with respect to the budget and performance targets. I continually optimise the parts I use and offer based on their performance, price point and availability. @Alex34 Turnaround is currently around 10 days if I have all the parts required in stock That's been my biggest focus over the last decade closely followed by improving communication.
  19. In the interest of pure balance I've also been and had no issues, none major enough to not want to return; but that was 1 person on 1 day of course. Their barrel sock rule is obviously out of the norm but the safe zone is quite possibly the nicest overall of any airsoft venue in the UK (not that I've been to every one but it's so far ahead of anything else that it's a tough one to beat). Lots of cool stuff in the game zone too and pretty big.
  20. I'm looking to buy an old disused lighthouse. Does anybody know of one for sale? I am happy to buy anything, but don’t want anything too flashy.
  21. That doesn't surprise me. From the short time I was in the group I got the distinct impression that anything other than having your tongue up the owner's arse wasn't acceptable
  22. I haven't owned a silver 5.1 but I have had a 4.3 Dual Stainless. The frame is essential hairline polished metal, rather than painted. I certainly can't imagine anything flaking off it if you're not even holstering.
  23. Note that volunteers are working, and on a legal basis many volunteers and the organisations they volunteer for have unwittingly entered into an employment contract Though it may be common for airsoft marshals to be unpaid volunteers this is a poor model for the airsoft industry, it’s more of the norm in paintball for Marshall’s and other staff to be employees (In a number of activities I do and have volunteered, I am handled as staff, though unpaid, and I am insured for their liability to me and for their business liability of anything I do ‘in my duties’ None of this changes GDPR nor SIA status Driver Wood require a policy for data collected already (data collected for ticket sales, waivers etc) and cameras add to the data handled
  24. It does feel like it hasnt stopped raining for the past few months, something on the news about it being the wettest February since records began. Everything around here in the East of England is a boggy flooded mess, every field you see is underwater. Ive got better things to do on a Sunday morning than get up early and go out in freezing cold rain, very much a fairweathersofter Been doing it for long enough now to not need to suffer miserable days playing it. Same with motorbikes, anyone who says riding in the winter slush grime mud and rain is anything other than unpleasant is just lying.
