Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread
Speedbird_666 replied to Mack's topic in General Discussion
Never used Nuprol BB's, probably never will. I was chatting with one of the guys at Z1 showroom a few years back, trying to glean who the OEM is for their Blitz BBs. He obviously wouldn't divulge, but he did say that there only a very small number of Airsoft BB factories in Taiwan, and many of the big names have their BB's produced in the same factories as the smaller/cheaper/nastier companies. Much like Christmas Puddings in the UK (with only one or two major factories supplying every supermarket), it's all down to the buying companies' specification and budget. Knowing Nuprol, it's probably at the very lowest end of the quality/cost scale that they can get away with. -

I keep meaning to pick up a PTS enhanced stock for one of guns. Can't fault the quality of PTS' Plastics. -

Cool Beans. £90 for the genuine kit, a dremel and a bit of spare time is good value compared to Daves Custom Airsoft version - £69 for what is still ultimately a £10 ACM knockoff. -

Are you LiPo modding the butt pad for the NGRS? -

Not just on Z1: Then, there's this: £240 gun new - check £40 Nuprol Tracer - check a crappy extra mag - Priceless and some left over meh (at best) BBs. And a couple of batteries So the guy effectively wants damned near full retail back. Could of at least cleaned the gun before the photos. -

I would do that, but unfortunately I have to take two teenage sons with young legs and lots of energy - means I have to play the whole day. Quite handy though - I send them on suicide missions and first into buildings. Saves me getting shot too much. -

I run a metal gun in the morning and a lightweight plastic gun in the afternoon because...well...I'm lazy (seriously). -

Taiwangun Shipping Disruption (Brexit Related Content)
Speedbird_666 replied to Speedbird_666's topic in General Discussion
God, I hope this situation settles down soon. This hurts UK Consumers, UK Companies as well as overseas suppliers. It's easy to just blame Brexit, but it's the UK government's own rules that are causing much of this, with stuff like the VAT registration requirements for overseas companies (EU or not). -

That's complacency for you. You don't ever think there will be a fire, especially when charging batteries for your toys. He said he was charging in fire-proof LiPo bags. You can be lulled into a false sense of security by cheap so called 'safety' products. In his instance though, none of the cans when up. He was lucky. He made a follow-up video 12 months later with his new room and collection. I believe he now charges on a concrete garage floor using a Bat-Safe LiPo box. I should also point out (separate to the scenario in the video) that many people do not have the luxury of out-buildings, garages, or garden workshops to keep their charging LiPos well away from their primary living areas. I'm sure that many batteries get charged on kitchen worktops, dining room tables, or even in bedrooms. Especially for those living in flats or apartments. -

Funnily enough I've got an HPI Sprint 2 down my shed (I keep meaning to sell it). Along with an HPI E-Firestorm. I know of two people within a 5 mile radius of my house that lost their entire RC collections (one Aircraft, the other Cars) due to a LiPo charging fires. Sobering stuff. One video'd the aftermath: -

Daves Custom Airsoft - he must have big windows because he can see ‘em coming a mile off. If he can upsell a Cyma to 600 notes, fair play. I bet he could also sell ice to Eskimos. *edit* Just noticed the invoice! Dave still had the balls to charge a tenner postage on a 600 quid gun, and the guy fucking paid it! Most companies have free postage over a certain amount, but not old Dave-o. What a legend. -

Nope. I think buffer tubed AKs look cool. That's why I own one. Even FSB run with buffer-tubed AKs and Kalashnikov Concern/Izhmash are equipping them out of the factory on their AK-12/15s. Then there's the US companies such as Meridian Defense and Rifle Dynamics spitting out boutique AKs. 'Old school is cool' n'all that, but buffer tubes on AKs do make a lot of sense. -

Whilst I don't know where @Alimcd purchased his, they are readily available on AliExpress via the Holy Warrior official store: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/910570041?spm=a2g0o.detail.100005.1.2a026a1aJZhOAV -

I hate to say it, but I understand why H&K developed HKey. MLOK is proprietary to Magpul, and H&K would never license a product from another country, especially when H&K supply to governments that may end up on the US' shit-list. Keymod standard (which is open source) uses imperial measurements, which does not compute with our European friends. HKey is a metric equivalent to Keymod, but with some extra tweaks preventing cross-compatibility so H&K can charge $60-70usd for a teeny tiny rail section. -

Doesn't help that there's Real Steel spec and Airsoft Spec KeyMod. Whoever thought that it was a good idea not to back-bevel the keys to essentially create a separate standard needs to be shot. -

Don't judge me... Got it NIB for well under retail for my 13 year old middle son to use. I've been fairly critical of G&G and their pricing/feature set, but I gotta say, I can't fault the external quality of this blaster for the money I paid. Right...need to order a Perun ETU++ -

No way this is a metal bodied gun. You can tell the ICS plastic bodies by the rear receiver area, there's extra reinforcement around the take down pin. -

Well that sounds like a complete Clusterfuck on UPS's part. I hope you get your order at some point. It could be worse - around 20 years ago (around the dawn of internet shopping) my team mate and I ordered ~$500usd of Paintball gear from the states. Never showed. No tracking number. Couldn't get a refund (no buyers protection back in those days). Seller (a major manufacturer that still exists) couldn't give a shit. We had to write off the money and forget about it. 2 years (yes, years!) later, a big box shows up at my mates house with 'Christchurch England NOT Christchurch New Zealand!' scrawled across it. Turns out it had been stuck in New Zealand customs for years because some dumb fuck in the US Paintball company warehouse forgot to write the country on the box. We've come a long way in terms of shopping since then.
