thanks all - the organisers do say about a proper bandage or a tourniquet system - im happy look at standard bandages but they start to fray and look shit - imo. one site i went to with the medic rule people were just slipping on the tourniquet esque band and carrying on - so it was quick and siple, but others wer spending ages putting on a bandage. so figured id ask what the general consensus was. and no i dont want to have a real tourniquet, as i know that they can be dangerous if used incorrectly, hence why i was after a mock style one like Milsim West offered

Hi all im going to a battlesim later this month, and part of it requires the use of bandages/ tourniquets for being able to be medic'd back in. ive got some field dressings, but they are bloody massive, and take a good length ot time to wrap due to them being about 5 miles long. i was wondering what other poeple used. ive seen over in the US part of the Mmilsim West group do (or did) mock tourniquets that were just elasticated velcro straps to simulate the process. does anyone know where these or anything like it can be bought from, or do people just buy a roll of bandages from their local supermarkets, and cut it into 1m strips? thanks in advance

i too am a very sweaty person, and have a similar issue to you - i wear glasses for an astigmatism - i tried contacts but couldnt get them into my eyes - even the optician had issues. currently my go to eye wear is a pair of Oakley M Frame 3.0 Si ballistic glasses along with a set of rx inserts. i wear a helmet as part of my loadout, hence it keeps the heat in even more. i have found that if i wear a bandanna under my helmet then i get less rain out on my glasses. just make sure that you wring it out after each game. or run it in cold water first - that helps. i have seen some bandannas on ebay by a company Zan Headgear that seem to be quite good - they do regular, or vented, or you can get one that has a cooling strip in it. im yet to try one, but that might be a good idea. basically the sweat is saturating your cap and then you get rain out on your glasses. but i know how ineffective you are with rain out - its as though you arent wearing your glasses

thanks for the response - ive heard a lot of good things about the Green Devils - might chase them re their site - i can order direct from them - but its a minimum of 20 bags - that site would be good - thanks re the tracers - ive found non bio ones at gunfire, actually Nuprol ones: http://gunfire.pl/product-eng-1152208102-Nuprol-0-30g-Tracer-Diamond-Grade-3000-pcs.html they seem to do both 0.3s and 0.28s

i will be participating in some upcoming games that require the use of bio bbs. im fully aware that some so called bio bbs are not really bio, and also the rumours going round re them not being safe for mesh eye users - so i do not want a debate on that - this is what the site has said it requires. my question comes thus, i use 0.3g in my current RIFs - G&G TR4-18, Ares Amoeba CCC, KJW HiCappa and CYMA SVD - all are tuned for this weight of bb - yes i know some tweaks will need to be made for each manufacturer. can anyone recommend any 0.3g bio bbs, or more importantly, can anyone recommend where i can buy them from. i know gunfire did do them, but they are currently not on their website, ive contacted Green Devils, but their ironfoot.co.uk website doesnt work (dont recall whether ive ever seen it working). and secondly ive seen 0.2g and some 0.25g tracer bio bbs, just wondering whether anyone had come across any heavier weights? thanks in advance.

thanks for the responses - i figure there is no harm in trying and as we all know what works for someone wont necessarily work for others - even the same gun barrel and hop combination. just thoughgt i would see what people had done with regards to theirs. thanks

hi i have heard great things about PDI barrels and got one - but am after upping my range and accuracy so im now looking at rhopping. i read on HunterSeeker's website that PDI barrles were not overly good for rhopping due to the way that the window is cut. have any of you rhopped your PDI barrels if so how did you do it? did you form the rhop to the slanted cut in the hop window, or did you modify your barrel. if you did the latter how did you do this - was it just patience with a metal file, or did you use a dremel or similar to make the hop window larger and square. the other option i have is to buy a new barrel, but if i dont have to ....... thanks in advance

i would be interested to know what response you get, only i have purchased an Amoeba CCC and that has a very small but long battery compartment (7.4 Lipo 1000mah nunchuck fits but that is about it). i asked Componentshop re modifying a lipo and they said no, but didnt ask about a custom made one.

S-Thunder pistol launchers are great fun. they dont add extra weight to rifles unlike ugls, and its very easy to move/ use due to its size. you can find some pistol holsters that will fit them - i got a large drop leg one for mine, and it allows me to carry a couple of spares grenades too. they are great in woodland too - firing a lcoud of bbs in the general direction of an assailant in the bushes, plus the nice loud bang. clearing building is good seeing people sh*t themselves at the bang and then shout it. i dont know about the B&T gl-06 but if you wanted to move onto using the AI grenades then the S-Thunder works wonders with those, chap at the site i go to uses them, wouldnt work in a longer barrel due to how the 'wings' on the projectiles from the AI grenades. got mine when Airsoftworld had a £20 flash sale - couldnt really say no.

Hi All ive got a dilemma. for the past couple of skirmishes now, my BBs have been going off to the right - i wondered whether it was when i had reseated the bucking, and the hop, but it was again doing it - so i removed the barrel, and it is slightly bent, that would explain my shots - it was useful at times to curl it round a tree, but made long sots more difficult. so i need to replace the inner barrel in my G&G TR418 Top Tech gen3. i believe it is a 6.03mm tbb barrel from the outset, but what should i replace it with. im not after making my gun into a DMR - i dont see the advantage in the slight power increase from 350 to 400 (im currently at about 330 and thats quite nice as i can in theory use it for CQB) for the losses - mainly being the MED. i use single shot anyway. ive seen some people say that to improve accuracy and distance that you should use a tbb, but others say a wbb. i cant go for anything like a Orga 6.23 as i dont have the air capacity being an AEG, but what are the suggestions for the barrel bore? as far as manufacturers go, PDI, Prometheus, Miracle Barrel?? also my barrel is currently 357mm long, will going for a longer barrel have an impact? i have an extension and a G&G rechargeable tracer/ silencer that i run with, so probably extending the length of the gun by about 200mm - i dont want to loose the tracer's ability though. im currently running a Maple Leaf bucking and soon to be a Maple Leaf Omega nub too when they arrive. thanks

i too had issues with my G&G TT TR418, but i got it replaced by the retailer. i emailed G&G directly using the contact info on their website. they were prompt in replying and helped the retailer go through my issue to get a resolution, in the end they suggested speaking to the retailer and asking for a replacement - to be fair i did have a year warranty with the gun do........ i have however stopped using the battery that i was using originally. it was using a 8.4V nimh, but have now changed to a 9.9V LiFe, and have had no issues since.

Archery Tag is good fun - i gave that a go earlier this year whilst trying to find a new hobby - have already taken up archery - but now its all about airsofting, with some archery thrown in on this side - when its not pissing down with rain - its not good for the bow or arrows you can indeed get a paintball system that attaches to your bow - there is a YT vid on this with a group of guys doing it - the main problem that you have is rate of fire - you cannot possibly match the rate of fire of a gun - even a boltie for a sustained period of time. you would also have to consider the draw weight of the bow - being that heavier draw weight would wear you out much faster, or more to the point whether the kit would be able to take the forces applied to it. i dont think you could necesarily use it for more stealthy kills due to having to move with your bow - more cumbersome than a gun, plus you ideally need to be standing - or at the very least kneeling to loose your 'arrow' where as you can be completely prone for a gun. but as some one has said the arrow would be the main sticking point - you cant really have a long projectile that will fire far enough to make it viable - RPGs are different and have more force behind them compared to what you could achieve with a bow. but i still think it would be cool

thought i would add my tuppence worth into this conversation. i too wear glasses every day to cure my astigmatism. i tried playing without lenses,but found it very difficult to pick out the shapes at distance, i was using some Oakley 3.0 M frames, and they felt fine - very little fogging, but just pulling them a little way away from my face - a coupe of mm - allowed enough airflow to defog them. in the end it got too bad, and i coughed up for some RX inserts, and got the lenses made by a sight recommended on another thread in this forum - cant remember where it was offhand. true what ive got is expensive - and if i did it again would probably go for ESS Ice gasses - made by Oakley, but cheaper.

Hi Does anyone have any experience with GFC Tactical kit, vests in particular that gunfire.pl sell. They seem very cheap or is this a false economy for something that is only worn a couple of times a month. Any advice gladly accepted Thanks

from my use Ian, i believe that you use the software to program your Baofeng handsets. within the software there is a column for CTC/DCS ENC i believe these are CTSS codes - i tried this with my team's radios, and whilst we were using one channel with the CTSS codes on (say ch11 446.00625, 67.0), i went to the general frequency channel (ch1 446.00625) and i could hear them, but they couldnt hear me. once i moved back to our channel i could be heard.

many thanks for the responses. being part of the G&G Top Tech range the gun already has a 6.03mm TBB. i was using .25g bbs, but was trialing a sample of .3g bbs so perhaps my comparison wasnt overly fair. i admit i wasnt testing for an accuracy point of view, it was more from the point of view of distance. though thinking about it i was very close around the flower that i was aiming at, so accuracy did seem to have improved, but distance seemed about the same - or is this expected - changing the hop and going up in BB weight increases the accuracy, but you get a decrease in the overall distance due to the heavier BB, hence making the distance about the same? i would have thought i would be hitting a good 50m or so, instead of about 30-40m but again is that me expecting too much? the barrel was cleaned out before the new bucking was put on, no grease or silicon was used during the installation, the hop unit seems very secure in the gun.

Hi all i have recently bought a couple of new buckings for my G&G TR4-18 gen3 to try and improve the range and accuracy. i bought a Maple Leaf Monster hop 70' and an RWA hop up, both of which are meant to be much better than standard buckings - or so i have been lead to believe. i have tried both of them and dont really think i have seen any difference in the range of the gun, could it be that i have installed it incorrectly - i have left everything else stock, or could i have been duped by marketing blurb? i wondered whether they needed to be bedded in so i ran about 500 bbs or so through each one, but still no noticeable difference. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

Hi Snakeeyes75 how is your 416 working with the 0.28s? im looking at sorting mine out, was using a bag of 0.25s from Zerone, and they were fine, but then bought a bottle of 0.25 Blaster Devils and it was being a quite eratic - bad batch of bbs im putting this down to, but if 0.28s are the way to go then i shall look at investing in some. would be good to have your take on this. thanks

i was in the same boat as you, looking round and deciding what i wanted. in my case i did my 3 times in 2 months, and then purchased once my UKARA had come through. i had the same dilemma with regards to guns - should i buy a cheaper gun to start with and then look at upgrading when i got confident/ wanted a higher spec gun. the problem that i can foresee with the CMs is that they are not metal bodies - i know this is not a major point for everyone, and some poeple will say that metal bodies arent always as strong and are heavier etc, but to each their own. the other decision was that Top Tech machines have upgrades already done to them - tight bore barrel, high torque motors, enhanced wiring and some have mosfets fitted to allow for 11.1V lipo. all of these were things that i would have looked at doing at some point during my ownership, if not almost immediately, so i figured that i would just go for the TR4-18 gen3 straight off. im still yet to properly play with mine having had a few issues, but G&G have been excellent, and i should be putting a few thousand BBs through it shortly getting it going. the biggest problem that i have found so far, is that once you have got your gun, you start looking on the forum classifieds for extras that you can add to your gun or your kit - ive already started looking at an under slung grenade launcher, as well as scopes, helmets etc etc - trying to curb the spending is a struggle
