I'll add for mine... Tested on a measured range. Effective defined as hitting a 1x2 foot target board.

VFC ES Recon M4, ~300fps (.25's), effective to ~240 feet. TTM hi capa 4.3, ~280fps (.25's), effective to ~150 feet.

I've quickly decided that camo was mainly pointless. It's helpful at range, but we haven't got range really. And it needs to be accompanied by field craft. I've lost count of the number of guys I've seen leaning against a tree instead of hitting the deck. Our taking a knee instead of rolling around on the mud... Most stand out like a sore thumb. Or you have excellent camo... Accompanied by a shiny black gun... That being the case, I tend to wear what I like. Was going to bin the camo for some bike armour covered in hydro dip flame! So where what ya like... It's all just a fashion statement...

Looking to get rid of mine perhaps for something smaller and lighter. VFC ES Recon M4. Everything works perfectly. Angled FG, sling adapter at front and single point ambi sling at buffer tube Rhop. Lonex hop unit, with mnub. Tanio Koba twist barrel. (hence barrel extension) Wire upgraded to asg ultimate silver wire. Deans connected Aoe corrected, properly shimmed (auto shims removed) recently serviced. 330fps Headshots accurate, 65 yards. Bodyshot accurate, 80 yards. (will measure and YouTube to verify come selling) What would a reasonable price be for it? (I have mags, etc... But I'm OK pricing those myself)

I've always noticed tm mags to be really reasonably priced... I paid £25 rack for my hi capa ones. And 35 for the 50rd big boy...

You gotta remember as well that as airsofters were not actually carbon copies... We buy heavy metal versions of lighter guns (every squaddie and his mum wants to decrease weight... Not us!) , have hi cap and mid cap mags, we carry many thousands of rounds onto the field and we have to wind our mags up... talking about actual realistic, and true to life... On the ground they would want the best available. Not what looked right... Hose fed guns are just technically better. You could argue that their range, quietness, reliability, rof and adaptability were much more in keeping with real military thought than... Say... A M4 made from some pot metal... Or a glock with a metal slide...

That's all fine... I just don't like hearsay and rumours over fact and evidence is all... I owned a fireblade which were apparently notorious for blowing generators. If I searched for the problem you would find pictures, first hand experience, fixes and reasoning... You can't find that for the tm slide issue... It's all "I heard that" and "my mate said" there's no real evidence, no photo, not any large followings of such things... Even your professional gun dealer was flat out wrong about the products (regards cold weather)... I had one i went to that was flat out adamant that WE guns were steel and therefore capable of real firearms pressures... Hence how they were the best... Ever... Also how casing was stronger than billet, which is why even cnc tm slides are inferior... People don't understand before they regurgitate... Strangely, I did find all sorts of... "No, that's a myth, I have this gun, and use propane... Have done for 3-5 years..." also a lot about the M9 not being that good. I'm not saying is impossible, I'm just saying I haven't managed to find any evidence that isn't anecdotal... And that's an important bit of information...

You may be the first person to ever experience it first hand! I bet he didn't in any way document it... And/or the pistols background and treatment...

Just... Y'know... Not a single picture or video exists of it... I'm not some deranged fanboy... Just saying the evidence isn't there to support the commonly held belief. Which is held by others that have never witnessed it. The masses thought smoking was good for you not that long ago... This is all a very long winded way of getting to my point though... With video evidence, is the complete opposite to what these guys said to you. ... Interesting... I still don't buy it... If your guys whipped out a broken slide and I could see it... With a complete and verified back story. Then yeah... But it's just another story otherwise. And while the gun you got was less expensive... You don't know what the markup was... It's not retail cost, it's profit... And there's not much to be made on tm... They could VERY easily make more on other guns... Like the one they sold you. Surely with all these broken slides they would keep one around the workshop to show you... And every other unhappy customer... But I assume they didn't... Because for whatever reason... They don't have one... It's worth thinking about... I think I'm also right in thinking that I looked into them for mine... They don't stock tm. At least they don't have any on stock... If I were cynical... I could say that what actually happened is that they made stuff up, had no evidence, and instead of selling you a low markup gun, or sending you out the door with nothing... They sold you something they DID have... But that would be as much conjecture as saying they break without the slightest bit of evidence... I certainly wouldn't take the word of someone that wants your money... Generally speaking...

Granted... But that grain could be a 20,000 round gun, previously dropped, never cleaned and run on bad propane in the desert... The thing is... People, most of the time, and even techs some of the time... Have no idea what their doing. You never know what some tool has done to their gun before his nan met a dude who once saw it happen back in nam... I've spent the last hour trying to find even a broken slide, let alone an exploded one... Can't find one... And it's impossible to believe in a world where someone will take their perfectly stock gun, change a grip and show the world... That no-one has photographed their obliterated slide... I'm just not buying it... But it would be nice to have something conclusive...

I think the slide blowing off is either down to user error, or a myth... For all my research I've seen MANY "I've heard of/my mate /this guy down the pub said" ... But never seen any evidence of it happening... And the local airsoft shops have never seen it happen, and the guy that runs the elite shooting centre specifically said propane was fine... I'm willing to admit that if you were to run it in the peak of summer on hardcore gasses... You may eventually get an issue... But I can't for the life of me find evidence that shows it happening... Modern polymers are incredibly strong...

That's funny... I've heard a lot of conflicting information on the above. Mainly that the slides being plastic helps recoil, and in winter their better... I think maybe Wolf Armouries did the "best Hi capa" video where they put all mags in the fridge and the tm basically hardly got affected. The gas thing may have legs... But that's only really saying one a year... "next few months will be hot... Change gas" but a lot of people seem to be using propane all year round... My hi capa... I had to check the slide to make sure it was plastic... Well a polymer... Looks that good.

I'm not sure there's much in the way of good side arms/secondary, not gas for 150 or less... My pistol cost me over that with a spare mag... You might want to have a think...

Well... I decided not to spend double the money on losing my rail. You could also not buy a hi capa, or buy a meu... Or mod your serpa. Each to their own :-)

So… Basically… Hi Capa’s do fit in a Serpa holster. I didnt know where best to post this, so mods discression on... well... whatever... Anyways... If you wanna know how I did it…. Here we go. It’s a full instructional, so be warned, its picture and word heavy. In case you just skip over it, let me point out in advance… CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF… You’re going to be making all sorts of plastic shavings. Make sure none of those end up in your gun. Also… Be careful and make sure you understand what youre cutting BEFORE you cut it… Its far easier to take material off, than it is to put it on… SO…. Base units. TM, Hi Capa 4.3 and some cheap Serpa rip-off from eBay. and the issues you have in the first place are based around the rail and the trigger guard. The rail interferes with part of the holster... You can see below that the red lines show roughly where the trigger sits, and of course... How the serpa isnt moulded to fit it. You can also see that the trigger is in line (red line0 with the bottom of the holster, but not the side... this means that you can remove material at the bottom without touching the sides, and this will fix your issue. If you can somehow stop the pinch, you could make the trigger more central and allow some room to breathe... But first... Round trigger guard vs square... OK... Take a breath... Lets reflect on what weve just done... and by now, 30 minutes has elapsed and if you were to jam that pistol in, it would actually work! But theres a little more... the above gives you a working unit, but remember that pinch? Thats caused by the moulding. Thankfully, also fixed in 30 seconds... For reference... My tm hi capa just cost me £175, delivered with 2 spare mags. The bare pistol was only £120...not to bad at all...

I've been doing a lot of research looking for mine... I went with tokyo marui hi capa. They seem to be the best overall pistol. I also found that We 1911's are poor.
