I have been messing around with an old G&G CM16 Carbine (the original version) and am getting around 180FPS.
I am very experienced at upgrading, fixing and building AEGs but cannot work out what is wrong with this one.
The gearbox is original with the following exceptions:
SHS M90 spring
Metal ball bearing spring guide
SHS cylinder head
SHS O ring nozzle
Gate PicoSSR3 mosfet
Rocket high torque motor
There is no delayer on the sector gear.
The airseal is pretty much perfect and everything runs as it should.
The barrel is the original aluminium piece of crap.
The two hop setups that I have tried it with are:
1. ZCI plastic hop unit; Maple Leaf Macaron and Omega nub
2. Original G&G hop unit; G&G Green hop rubber and nub
Both give the same FPS.
With the nozzle fully forward, there is no light leakage down the barrel when an LED is shoved up the feed tube, so I am certain that the nozzle is engaging correctly with the hop rubber.
The paper test on the feed tube shows nothing.
Any ideas?
I bought it because of the consistency; I was fed up with the inconsistency of normal gas pistols and their tendency to vent whenever they felt like it.
Even after upgrading it (wiring, bushings, spring etc etc), the low power and the sheer lack of fun annoyed me so I switched to a CO2 pistol, which really is great fun.
I have the CYMA mosfet version; it is ok, no more than that. Even with the mosfet, the trigger response is sluggish; that, combined with the low power, makes it rather disappointing to use, which is why it has been in a cupboard for ages.
Oh dear! That went right over your head, didn't it?
You stated that you will never change your opinion; I pointed out that was the position of a fool as only a fool will never be prepared to change their opinion.
Do you understand it now?
If you have an opinion and will never change it you are a fool; a wise person changes their opinions as new facts emerge, as John Maynard Keynes almost certainly did not say.
Does the .097b platinum have an optical trigger sensor? I thought it had a mosfet and a microswitch trigger. If so, it is probably the now standard problem with the micro switch breaking.
I cannot see anything missing; the pistol grip is part of the stock and the big hole in the receiver is there because JG use an under folder body; the hole is covered when the stock is fitted.
It has a hell of lot to do with Brexit; while UPS may carry some responsibility, most of this is down to entirely predictable issues around border controls and being outside the single market. Entirely predictable to everyone except the UK government, that is.
It seems that TG may have stopped selling to the UK for a while again until UPS/HMRC get themselves sorted out.
The bulk of the problem is not due to UPS; it is due to those who prepared the "oven ready" deal not only forgetting to buy an oven but also not knowing what an oven is.
Expect things to get a lot worse if the European Parliament does not ratify the deal due to the UK government unilaterally altering the Northern Ireland Protocol.
