      Put it this way... To get into the infantry in the Army you need to do 1.5 miles in under 12:30. That's about 8:20 a mile... For any of the Corps (what I'm going for) you need to get sub 14:30 which is 9:40 a mile. I've been training for about 3/4 months (before then I didn't do any exercise/sports for more than a year) and I'm doing the 1.5 mile run in 11:20. That's 7:30 ish a mile. Obviously those target times are the pass/fail marks, they want you to be getting WAY...

      under that time. From what I've heard its under 10mins for the infantry (8/9 mins for the paras) and around 12:30 if your going for one of the Corps. Hope that has shed some light for you :P

      pre joining fitness test times are kinda irrelevant, BFT standard is 10:30 for 1.5 miles, anything below that and regardless of regiment or corps and you're unfit.
