Personally I would have taken it. The whole reason I got into airsoft rather than paintball is the realisim. Realistic weapons, realistic scenarios, the gear and tactics we try to emulate. In real life guns don't run on batteries or vent gas when it's cold
 
I know other people play for different reasons so really both sides have a point.

I equally don't like the bang rule leads to arguments and is often used in stupid situations
 
You were under no obligation to take the hit and so under the rules you were well within your right to do what you did, but it wasn't the sporting option and this sport is entirely based on good sportsmanship

There is nothing wrong with the way you did things. I however would have taken the hit as a sniper rifle would have killed you IRL.

That was an epic review/video showing it, i customized my vest so that it had tight sides like that so can get pistol on the hip, much better then the leg. Id consider one of these now great review shame they dont do them in black

The stock wont as you would need a milspec buffer.

It is fucking rock solid. Smash it into a brick wall and the first thing to break would be the brick. I have a recording of me just smashing up every glass bottle i had from the recycling bin after a party. It's not exactly skirmish safe.

I prefer drop leg jobbies myself as I don't like anything on my chest other then a tshirt. I also don't like pistols on belts as the slightly higher position is awkward for me due to my build. I've never ever had a problem with flapping about but I do always make sure the holster is very tight both on my leg and clipped into my belt with no slack also. I use either twin TM desert eagles or a marushin ragin bull revolver (6.5" barrel) all of which are super heavy and as previously stated with zero flap! I only have a viper holster for the d'eagles and an unknown brand for my raging bull so hardly Gucci at all but still work absolutely fine.
Pretty much if anything isn't strapped tight to you it's going to make noise wether it be radio pouches, holsters, drop leg molle platforms, etc. You know when it's strapped tight enough because when you move you can't feel that it's on. If it's cuts off blood supply then obviously it's too tight lol.
On a slightly funny note, I even go as far to wear cycling shorts under my replica crye trousers as I don't want my codpiece flapping around either. That can get quite uncomfortable if not kept in check lol
