  1. there's a 'team' like that plays at a site I occasionally go to, they all have their matching gear and think they're the dogs danglies (they're not, herd of poorly camouflaged elephants springs to mind), I find it's easiest just to avoid them. I don't speak to them, they don't speak to me because I'm a mere mortal and I'm not wearing A-TACS. One day they'll realise that A-TACS AU isn't all that great in the woods!
  2. what kind of parent buys their kid a Systema?! besides, even the best gun isn't going to outrange your G&G by much more than a few yards, if they were the be all and end all of airsoft everyone would have to have one! Get a smidge closer, good gear does not a good airsoft player make.
  3. don't think you can get one worth owning anywhere for that little, 2 tone or no... thats a topic for another day though.
  4. +1 for the senior service, I haven't shaved since June!
  5. Stick with plastic teeth on the piston and a plastic nozzle. Metal teeth on a piston are normally tougher than the gears so if something goes wrong the piston ends up destroying the gears and not the other way round... Pistons are cheap, gearsets aren't! Plastic nozzle is for a similar reason, if something goes wrong the nozzle will smash your hop unit to bits if it's metal, you'll also run the risk of chopping BBs up occasionally.
  6. looking good, where did you get the stick on foam for the stock?
  7. Pretty much yeah, if you've got the goggles on top of your head then the elastic will slip upwards but if they're round your face then they shouldn't slip. That said, if you have a weird shaped helmet or odd goggles then the retainer straps might be useful, I just don't see the point in spending money to fix a problem that may not even exist for you.
  8. yeah I had a set on an older helmet, they're OK if you want to have a set of goggles sat on top of your lid and not have the elastic strap slip upwards but if you're going to be wearing the goggles they're near enough useless.
  9. at £12.50 each... I reckon they probably went within 20 minutes!
  10. sansei style mask and some ESS Profile turbofan goggles, sick of my ESS Crossbow glasses fogging up in CQB because of my mesh lower and I don't want to shell out for a devtac ronin mask!
  11. jesus, I thought I was financially irresponsible! ;-)
  12. Jammy bugger is all I'll say to that. I never thought to search eBay for that sort of thing, didn't expect it would come up with anything!
  13. another Strandhogg or AAC with all the shiny bits? ***EDIT*** Either way, just priced it up and JESUS, she's a customs bill!
  14. definitely still doing the job, I'm not squeamish but that made me a little bit sick in my mouth.
  15. a high cap for my HK416. Those of you who know me will see this as some kind of crazy shit but I've been inspired by ed's fun times with noob kit videos. I can't bring myself to buy a G&G combat machine when I've got a £600 gun sat in a case, so I figured I'd just buy a high cap for that gun... and a bag of BBs in a pocket. Will see how it pans out on sunday!
  16. Gone all tupperware and bought a glock! I must say though, it is extremely pointable, the whole thing feels a lot more sturdy than my 5-7 (which will be up for sale soon!). Please excuse the gash M6X, it's only on there for cool factor as the light part is broken and the laser doesn't have enough adjustment to effectively zero! Streamlight TLR-1s on the way to replace it. The slide (as lovely as it is in Marui ABS, not joking, it feels great in the hand) is being replaced also with a Salient Arms one as soon as they're released. Other bonus to getting a Marui... accurate trades, because the Japanese don't give a F*CK.
  17. I'm on Proball Bios at the moment, they seem pretty good and they're not too expensive. Wish I could find a reliable supplier for green devil bios though, they're incredible.
  18. utility on a drop leg... have fun running if there's anything in it! also, your freaky lefty-rightyness makes it look completely wrong, but I'm guessing it's all right where you can reach it with whatever hand you use for whatever action!
  19. I bought a second hand dell xps a couple of years back and it was rock solid, played everything I threw at it and was easily within your budget. Ebay is a good place to look.
  20. we celebrate that particular miscarriage of justice every year though, there's a song and everything!
  21. people have short memories Ian, Stormont was a long time ago now.
