  1. I was watching it through a 3X scope. I had just zeroed it to 74m at the site range that day. I'm uh, not fond of arcing shots as that's usually only necessary if you have a bad hopup or are trying to hit outside your usual range. This was at about 40-50m. That part of my comment was mostly made in jest.
  2. I mean in many cases they were looking right at me
  3. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/custom-equipment/custom-equipment_1/knights-armaments-grip-and-rail-covers_i83827 "Real embosed markings, in new condition" Me being able to read the markings and see they're not very real looking
  4. Had my second game day since breaking my ankle yesterday, at Sextion8 up here in Scotland. Still having to take it steady, especially as the site is both very rough terrain being a plantation forest site, and had gotten a little boggy with the rain lately. Managed to get to about 2:30 before my hip seized up and I went back to the car for a lie down. First outing for my bolt action Mk12 and my VFC AK74M. The Mk12 performed excellently, absolutely uncanny range on it. It's really nice having AR ergonomics on a sniper. The VFC AK was just a solid performer and very fun. I seem to have a very strange hop issue with both guns though, if anyone has some advice. I'd shoot at a guy and watch the BB fly right to them, but just before impact it would disappear. Very strange. Many shots where I was sure I saw the BB hit through a magnified scope, it simply didn't. Maybe a trick of the light? My opponents seemed to flinch at the BB disappearing but appeared unhit. That aside, very fun day overall. Hip issues aside I managed to keep up and keep pushing for most of the day, and I think that's not bad going. Still having trouble explaining what Airsoft is to my Physio but she says it sounds like good exercise either way.
  5. This sounds like so much fun, I love the LARP aspect
  6. Maybe get yourself some earpro if you're running it on CO2 btw. Especially indoors it's genuinely loud enough to warrant it.
  7. 42% Positive on Airsoft Hub, fuck me
  8. The price is absolutely insane So, on brand for the Joker, I guess
  9. TM o-rings are nitrile, they don't absorb silicon oil
  10. Garand Thumb inspired me to get divorced
  11. That's a damning sentence right there
  12. Yeah same, the price is ridiculous. Mine has been great so far though.
  13. These are both very different ergonomically and in terms of how you run them tbh. For the URGI it's a featherweight, aluminium, short arse modern carbine. You have so much space to attach tactical toys you don't need and it still won't be weighed down. For the AK, she's old dawg. It's a 35 year old modernisation of a 50 year old design. It's hefty, especially up front. Attachments aren't as easy to get going as on the URGI, but there's aftermarket options. Both have decent kick, though the AK wins it. It's a lot of steel getting thrown around, genuinely get yourself some kind of earpro for indoor games. The URGI is prone to hop issues while the AK is pretty solid. That said there's a million ways to carry an AR mag vs 5.45 AK mags. You can buy all the cool SEAL operator kit your heart desires. Real AK load bearing gear is hard to get because Ukraine and Russia are currently throwing the last of the Soviet reserves at each other. Prices on Smersh are insane given how shit it is. I personally lean towards the AK but it's not a svelte and modern gun, so you need to keep that in mind. Absolute tonne of fun though, and it's Airsoft anyway.
  14. Yeah different models of VFC have different materials in the parts, and it's tricky to work out which come with what a lot of the time.
  15. Load the shell normally, get close to the chrono, and put the barrel so that only the top inner barrel will actually fire through the chrono. The other two should just smash against the table or whatever. Yeah it sucks, but like the others said if you just fire three BBs through the chrono it gives bad readings, but also if you fire with only one barrel loaded the gas vents out the other two and the measured power on that one BB is much lower.
  16. AAP and Hicapa owners will sell you a gun with part names like the Shit Myself BigPP Short Stroker and act surprised when no one wants to pay used car money for it.
  17. Tbf there is no good looking Russian optic. They're all terrible
  18. Trigger is alloy on most VFC ARs
  19. NATO spec isn't 14CCW btw, that's just the standard for most Airsoft guns. There's no such thing as a NATO spec for muzzle devices. Real AR muzzle devices are 1/2′′x28. HK ones tend to be M15.
  20. The funniest part of the ad for me is the "willing to trade for VFC AK74M" ngl. Optimistic trade that.
  21. WA has gone the way of the dodo mostly, but the system has been improved upon by like three different companies now.
  22. Lighter BBs fly faster right out the barrel, but given that all BBs are the same size and surface finish, they suffer the same amount of drag. The lighter BBs suffer more air resistance though, because they go faster. So they slow down much sooner and lose a lot more of their energy.
  23. There's this one Japanese guy who 3D prints different MWS GBB guns. Petty incredible, but it's all running deliberately gently
  24. 99% of the time it's just a shell to slap a standard gearbox into. Very, very few people are 3D printing the working parts.
  25. I wish I had a gun with Decent Selector
