if any of those members (current or expired) were stupid enough to open-carry a RIF in public.

I do agree with UKARA existence if it's a way to keep the sport going (which it has done and hopefully will continue until the heat death of the universe.)

But being devils advocate the UKARA scheme only exists as a method to sell rifs from retailer's to the public. Once it's in the public's hands UKARA has nothing to do with it anymore.

You don't need a UKARA to have a rif. And nobody waving one around in public is being checked on the database. The police won't care where you got it from just why you wanted to get shot by armed response.

Having a UKARA simply justifies a retailer selling you something because someone was overzealous with the rules at one point in time.

we make it easier to get an air gun than an Airsoft replica in this country, makes no sense.

  2. My latest ukara registration lapsed and I got an email, but didn't during COVID when it lapsed.

Looking through the privacy policy very quickly, it also doesn't state they will use the details given to them to contact players .

It does seem somewhat funny that whilst a ukara registration only lasts 1 year, the ukara website essentially says they will hold on to your data forever as point 9 of the privacy terms.

From a privacy perspective seems overkill to hold data indefinitely.

We had a look at a Mk23, nice pistol but huge in his little hands.

The last few games my son has been going with a friend, him with the VSR and his friend with a AEG. They play at being a sniper team, one shooter, one spotter. I’m not sure how effective they are but they’re having fun creeping around so that’s fine with me. 😀

I’ve got the parts for the VSR and will give it a go this weekend (after Tankfest) wish me luck!

On a side note Mr hewes restoration of the fv4005 has been fun to watch, wish I could have gone tankfest this year.

  4. The Tac41p Sport is up for sale at £250 at empire Airsoft which seems a really good deal along with the LS. Would be interesting to see if the hop unit has issues as silverback put out a video on making it hop heavyweight bb's better.

  5. Be warned whilst it works the Airsoftpro has no built in barrel to hop unit alignment so it's 100% on the user to make everything align (i.e centre the hop rubber so it hops straight)

I've got one and it works well once it's set correctly but avoid touching it unless needed or you can test again before gameday.

I find drawing a line continuing the hop rubber alignment grove up the barrel helps line it up with the mag catch screw mount to ensure it's all lined up well.

  6. Sometimes it's better to keep going unnoticed and maintain the status quo.

Honestly don't want attention from the wrong people (politicians), who if they became aware would likely campaign to ban our already often misunderstood hobby.

  7. At UK 2.3j the goal for accurate shots is 80m I find, anything over that is generally inconsistent/luck to one shot one kill.

What weight and make of BB are you running? (brand is less of an issue now days though) You want to be shooting .45s or above really.

  8. As someone who's upgraded an type96, I can't say it was worth it over getting a good ootb rifle. When your upgrading your always chasing the next upgrade part or troubleshooting something it seems.

Go back 3-4 years and their wasn't really any decent ootb choices. But nowadays with silverback, ASG/Modify and Nov having good field ready options the upgrade path is harder to justify for a lot of players.

If you want 100% perfection than building and months of tinkering is your only way, if you are happy with 90-95% than just buy a high end ootb option. Resale on high end is generally better than a custom build if you change your mind as well.

  9. Combat South will always be missed. The village was great and the fresh cooked lunch being included and so filling for those winter days.

It's a site where the marshalls knew how to do a great job and use what they had to make game modes work. Do wish Russ and the team would open a new site, but the shop seems so busy and the express store don't think they will.

Bought my first rif from them and they threw a free game day in, just spectacular service.  Also the store is great and they have always been honest with purchase choices without the unneeded upsell.

  10. Had some .32 asg open blaster I've been slowly using over 4 years and they've been good and reliable.

Didn't even know they were bio until my local site changed and I checked the packaging to see if they were.

  11. Lights are highly recommended for the site. As some areas are very dark.

Also the average firefight range is extremely short and they didnt chrono guns last time I went. I would not recommend for anyone under 18 to go.

Full head protection is recommended but everyone seems to mesh lower and eyepro only.

Its a fun very small site but can be a bit rough gameplay wise due to the sites nature.
