  1. Can a minimum number of posts (new topics or replies) be forcibly subject to pre-approval before they're given free rein?
  2. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/two-tone-replicas/electric-powered_1/electric-airsoft-pistols_1/cyma-517_i55359 "Hello, boys. I'M BACK! I'm reusing the old photos so the bad job I did of illegally removing the paint is less obvious."
  3. I'd seen preowned Hera Arms CQRs at a couple of skirmish sites go for £230-300. The one I saw at £300 was pretty much pristine.
  4. Advice acknowledged and reposted at a more realistic price, minus the potential fire hazard charger https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/26914-specna-arms-sa-e06-h-aeg
  5. You're in dangerous territory near Mildenhall and Thetford. You have DK Armaments and Only Airsoft (Norfolk) on your doorstep to drain your bank account.
  6. Like I said "if you can find them at the right price". I saw a decent in-store deal at Extreme Airsoft a few months back on a batch of stock of a G&G Combat Machine (I can't remember which model specifically or the handguard length) they were selling for below £200 as one of their suppliers wanted to clear its surplus. I'm 100% with you saying they're not a competitively priced budget vendor any more when you can buy RIFs with more features at the same price point from G&G's competitors now.
  7. They're definitely worth a purchase. They're less expensive to replace than your optic and those optics aren't designed with repairs/spare parts in mind.
  8. I would have to third the recommendation to take the rental path for a couple of months to get your UKARA defence. Two-tone may cost you more in the long run as they tend to depreciate more than a RIF so you'd spend less money renting than you stand to lose buying and reselling a two-tone. Some of Double Bell's modern RIFs may be worth considering as they've improved greatly from older generations. If you can find them at the right price, G&G isn't a bad option either.
  9. I've bought a RIF and a few accessories from them before. I rate them pretty highly and the owner is very easygoing and knowledgeable. The out of stock item is unfortunate and inconvenient but it could be a BB Guns 4 Less special where they take your money anyway and ship you a crappy, lower-cost substitute without consulting you... or so many people have told.
  10. Is there a picture of the crack? People should know if that "slight" crack can develop into something that breaks the gun. Is 400fps a flex or has it actually been chrono tested at that speed? That would be hot at most sites.
  11. I'm inclined to agree given the Colt markings. It looks like if has an aftermarket grip too.
  12. You can try the Battery (part of RIFT Airsoft, the same group Dan alluded to previously). It's got both indoor and outdoor and in much of the site, you have sufficient line of sight for a sniper rifle but you whether you use an AEG, DMR or sniper rifle, you would be limted to 1.13J on up to 0.28g pellets.
  13. I bet those testing would be the ones who would blindly run their finger along the weight vs fps chart and declare a "hot" gun when the player intends to shoot with a heavier pellet.
  14. Alternatively, you can use this formula in Excel or similar spreadsheet programme depending on whether you use feet per second or metres per second so you can see the workings of how kinetic energy is calculated =1/2*(cell with weight in grams/1000)*(cell with speed in fps/3.28084)^2 =1/2*(cell with weight in grams/1000)*(cell with speed in m/s)^2
  15. Welcome. How hardline are your travel boundaries in the "London area"? Are indoor sites with barrels, wooden walls, barricades, etc, completely out of the question as you said you wanted and outdoor site? It may be worth taking a look at this site for options. https://playairsoft.uk/
  16. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/two-tone-replicas/cyma-cm-517_i54998 "Look at me, guys! I bought an airsoft gun to use at a field but I didn't realise I would have to actually pay money to play at a site, nor did I factor in travel when I don't even have a car. I didn't have the patience to wait for a UKARA defence so I flouted the law and did a piss-poor job of removing the blue paint. £100 reflects the regret I have in not researching, planning and asking around before investing so much into something that didn't work out. I think that price is reasonable even though you can buy the same RIF brand new without my 'custom' paint removal for the same price" https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/cyma-cm517-m4-with-ras-handguard-in-black.html
  17. For what it's worth, I fitted a Perun MOSFET to my P90. My specific reason for doing so was wanting to improve the trigger response as most familiar with the standard TM P90 and its clones will tell you there is a big and inconsistent dead zone (especially in semi-auto) with the trigger bar and contacts on the gearbox. The Perun unit does away with all of that and replaces the cut-off lever with its own. I can't stress enough how big a difference it has made as the trigger response is vastly superior and more consistent, with me no longer having a dead zone as a source of frustration.
  18. No, that would be a compliment. It would imply he has the warmth, depth and capacity to give pleasure. He's an inch further behind as he wishes to shit all over everything and profit from the process.
  19. So what's your stance on Rolf Harris? He was a fantastic TV presenter and artist even if he was eccentric. He was more artistically gifted than I am. I'm sure his indiscretions warrant a different viewpoint too.
  20. It should have a quick-change spring system so it should be easy to swap it without opening your gearbox but what is specifically wrong with your SA-H22's spring or your gun's performance that you deem it worth upgrading? Is its energy level so low that it's not competitive?
  21. It literally depends on your playing style, your invididual preferences and the site rules. For example with the latter, setting a 5-round burst or enabling a binary trigger is pointless at a site where single-shot only is permitted.
  22. That's why I criticised the security. The security at Birmingham ComicCon were oblivious to everything except swords compared to those at London ComicCon who actually did check for prohibited items.
  23. It says as much about ComicCon's piss-poor security in a (paid) public event as the people doing it but there were cosplayers yesterday at the NEC in open carry with airsoft guns. One numpty in one of the foyers (open to everyone without paying) had an MP7 openly hanging from his chest and past the "paywall" was a bloke dressed up as an NPC soldier from Metal Gear Solid with a FAMAS. He openly said he bought it in two-tone and sprayed it black but left an orange tip on the muzzle. 🤦‍♂️ I noticed at least a couple other cosplayers with M4s and another with an MP5K. Predictably, responsible players would be blamed for the actions of idiots who don't play airsoft or that minority of players who have some sort of death wish.
  24. Classic example of buyer's remorse and wanting to cut his losses. I hope he's paying VAT at those prices.
