  1. It is an offence provided that you don't have a defence to do so, which is explicitly attested to on that same link.
  2. Delivered by Hermes...
  3. I don't think the player base needs to expand but rather attitudes toward it be more open-minded and accepting that it's just another hobby/pastime/recreation that its players are very passionate and enthusiastic about and one that helps their wellbeing in keeping them active. Going to the gym is good for people's wellbeing also but when you hear about steroid and other PED use or the steroid user (plus gym "influencers") behaving in disagreeable way, exercising at the gym isn't villified and denounced because of one or a few bad apples the way airsoft in the UK would be, nor would exercising at the gym fall under the same scrutiny. I couldn't agree more about the concern that becoming too big will attract mouth breathers. Look at F1. A few years back, it was popular but in only so many people's conversations. Thanks to Drive to Survive and F1's commercial rights holders pushing it to be more mainstream, it's much bigger with a new breed of fans who have taken the lustre off the sport because of their tribal behaviour bringing the handbags out at dawn. I'd rather not have a celebrity or "influencer" push airsoft because it would be another flavour of the month with new players dicking about, harming the reputation of regulars who take safe, honest and responsible play seriously. I rest my case. I don't consider Bieber as much of a prick now but he's not exactly a shining endorsement for airsoft. Beckham is an entitled self-loving brat who got salty about being ineligible for a knighthood because of his tax dodging then he made me even less inclined to consider visiting Qatar when he promoted it for the last World Cup.
  4. How do you qualify the expense being absurd? The sites aren't charities. Their overheads of BBs, maintenance for the rental guns, their eventual replenishment and the labour costs of inspecting and stocktaking have to be taken into consideration along with a profit margin. It's really easy to belittle operating costs when you deviate from "try(ing) to remain neutral" and show an agenda against the current system. Let's not push a false narrative that 2 months of having a UKARA defence is waiting to be approved is the norm. I had a provisional UKARA number the day I became a member of the site I played at to apply for becoming registered with UKARA BUT my defence didn't become active until a couple of days after I was signed off after playing my third game in just over 2 months and the site, after which the owner sent off an email to UKARA confirming I had satisfied the requirements. That defence was active for 12 months from the day I received by email from UKARA, not from when I played my first game. The only expense I have to incur to renew my UKARA registration is to continue my membership at the site for another year - that is much less expensive than monthly gym memberships, a few packs of cigarettes or a week's worth of overpriced custom Starbucks coffees. Imparting misinformation as fact is less than conducive to discourse in good faith, especially when you "try to remain neutral".
  5. A BIT optimistic? Two-tone for most of it says all you need.
  6. My theory is the current weather conditions. I've heard a few people with Vorsk 1911 and Hi-Capas over the past few months say their performance in the cold is shockingly bad even with red gas.
  7. £90 even split for each of the for slightly scuffed pistols when you can get them at retail from £105-£130 unscuffed with some peace of mind. Optimistic.
  8. Welcome back!
  9. Is that supplied with the smack he was on in coming up with that price?
  10. Is he paying VAT on that? "There's a WE Glock in the sale but I couldn't be arsed to point out which model but Glocks are all the same right? They still sling plastic balls."
  11. Unless you're willing to sit on this whole bundle for months if not years for a sale, you're definitely dreaming if you think someone newly UKARA-registered will want to drop £3,500 on everything in this listing. What are the chances that anyone would want even 80% of everything listed without wanting to resell the remainder? Surely breaking this listing down into smaller gun + case/bag + mag pouch + battery, eye/facepro, tactical, grenade and accessory bundles will see it sell more quickly? I get the seller has sunk a massive cost into something he hasn't got much time on the field for but bloody hell, I don't think dropping the inflexible atttiude and the expectation of timewasters would hurt.
  12. After the OP first downgrades the spring then does a chrono re-test to confirm the gun is shooting within site limits.
  13. Two-tone being sold at more than 80% of retail. Is this so highly sought after, even in two-tone, that its resale value percentage is above that of your typical RIF?
  14. Welcome onboard!
  15. I'd honestly say a bloody nose from the ridicule and strong responses is a small price to pay compared to setting up a business without a scooby of running one or of airsoft and running it into the ground with you eating extra value baked beans for the next 6 years. You really should heed the advice to learn to walk before you can run. Getting airsoft guns isn't that difficult so when you're setting up a business using them, they should be much lower on your list of worries. Without checking your particulars are in order first as Dan R said, it's utterly pointless in thinking of what guns to buy to rent out for a business. As others have said, you really should get out there and find if airsoft is for you or not. You've asked for experienced players' advice and you've been given it. Safety risks aside of playing in your house or garden, that isn't going to prepare you for playing at a site any more than Doom, GoldenEye 007 or Half Life prepared me for when I first played airsoft many years ago. Like EDcase pointed out, this hobby has a lot of naysayers and opponents. The UKARA defence to buy RIFs is a compromise the government made to allow realistic play in the hobby since it is good exercise and dare I say it, a good boost to a lot of people's wellbeing. The harshness of many of the responses you've received is out of them caring more for protecting the hobby than protecting your feelings. Hell, a new site I played had some objections from local residents complaining about potential noise from the site with imitation firearms playing, showing their complete ignorance that it's most unlikely that they'd hear much from 5 miles away. Someone with little appreciation for safety and possibly legal implications of playing with airsoft guns in their house or garden doesn't sound like someone fit to operate a site safely. I don't think Rogerborg could have put it better. Getting out on and gaining practical experience with airsoft is invaluable but setting up your own business is something you should put on the back burner for years until you can sort things out operationally first.
  16. Yikes. I would usually say it's sad to hear of a site closing down but when you charge an uncompetitive rate for just an hour's play and you exclude your biggest airsoft player base i.e. those with their own kit, you're lining yourself up for failure. If (non-volunteers) people charged with looking after the players' safety and upholding the reputation of airsoft aren't being paid their due, you don't deserve to be in the business.
  17. It also raises the questions of whether this gun had its spring uprated after a legitimate chrono test without a retest, if it was chrono-tested with a false declaration of the BBs weight, if the tester made a mistake on setting the weight or if something else dodgy happened.
  18. Now we know this is on 0.25g BBs, the latter isn't true. No self-respecting site would allow this to be used as it's not only above any site's limits, its >1.3J output makes it a section 5 firearm. An airsoft site's insurance would be invalid if any players were injured with this gun on their watch. Until you downrate the spring so this fires between ~0.9J and <1.13J so it remains competitive, legal and within site rules (some specify <1.0J), your AEG could be worth 5 years at His Majesty's pleasure.
  19. If we needed another reason why stating joules rather than fps is important, his admission that the 335fps is on 0.25g BBs puts it at above 1.3J so he's selling an airsoft gun that could land him and/or the buyer in serious trouble.
  20. From a WhatsApp used airsoft gear group. He paid £530 but didn't consider rentals or buying something cheap to invest in getting UKARA so he could avoid two-tone? He'll be disappointed with his offers but as I assume he isn't a UKARA member, is he not stitching himself up by offering to respray a two-tone unless he still uses a bright colour?
  21. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/28546-beautiful-airsofts-collections Makes a waffly post but provides no photos of the Mk 23 or the Gate Titan he mentions for sale. Instead the picture features an AW Hi-Capa.
  22. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/two-tone-replicas/cyma-cm-706-sniper-rifle_i57448 70% of retail for a two-tone. That's optimistic. ____________________________________________________________ https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/two-tone-replicas/electric-powered_1/sa-c22_i57484 It looks like our old friend still hasn't heeded advice that he is is mislabelling his gun as something by Specna Arms despite numerous people pointing out with evidence that it is almost certainly a Cyma product. He's jacked up the price too above retail. I hate to cast aspersions but how can one lack a basic understanding of supply and demand economics?
  23. Adding to what Colin said, around the 70% mark is the standard for a RIF in good condition. You may not have fired them personally but they were both test fired to give those speed/energy readouts so their cherries have already been popped. As they were both tested at least 3 years ago, it would be worth test firing both of them again just to make sure BBs feed properly and that the gearboxes cycle for both yours and the buyer's peace of mind.
  24. I was premature clicking the submit button ?
  25. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/28438-bulldog-m4pg-ris-airsoft-gun-u I assume this was a JBBG "special" that the OP paid for. https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/bulldog-m4pg-ris-airsoft-gun/ When I could buy the same bundle (non-two tone), brand new for less money, why would I pay for this? Make it make sense please.
