  1. No, the muzzle energy, measured in Joules, could be the same; the velocity would have to be below 313 FPS when using a 0.25g BB. 313 FPS on 0.25g = 1.13J 350 FPS on 0.20g = 1.13J Sites should really measure in Joules rather than quoting a velocity based on a 0.20g BB, which hardly anyone uses.
  2. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, you are right; he is coming across as a total cunt.
  3. You are coming across as a bit of a cunt, which I suspect is not what you were hoping for.
  4. This advert is COMPLETED!

  5. Are you old enough to remember what happened at Dunblane?
  6. The Novritsch SSE18 shoots at almost exactly the same power as a CYMA AEP. CYMA also make (or made) mosfet versions of some of their range, which are also notably snappier than the non-mosfet versions, especially when used with a small 7.4v LiPo. A stronger spring makes the pistol less snappy as it is harder for the crappy little gearbox to pull back. A mosfet does protect the trigger contacts. I don't recommend running it on even a very small 11.1V LiPo. Trust me on that one; I tried it! The battery survived; the AEP did not. My CYMA AEP shoots very straight and has surprisingly good range using 0.25g BBs; its biggest, and rather significant, disadvantage is that, at anything other than short range, I might as well be throwing daisies at people.
  7. The world will have ended before that happens.
  8. But we got are sovrinty back and can control are boarders now.
  9. Welcome to the money pit that is airsoft!
  10. I think Captain Darling has answered your question; it seems to be a bit self-stimulatingish to me.
  11. I had intended to go to Airsoft Plantation today; however, this plan was cancelled when my eldest son rang me on Saturday morning to ask if I would look at a house that he and his flatmate were thinking of moving to, as he had to work today and did not want to make a decision solely on his flatmate's opinion. I agreed, although I was rather disappointed about missing a day's playing. However, just after I had gone to bed last night, I got a message from him at 23:25 to say that they had changed their minds about it. I quickly got my gear together, put batteries on charge and then got some sleep, before heading off to Airsoft Plantation this morning. Numbers were lower than usual, maybe because many people were being nice to their, or their children's, mothers, with only about 70 players on site. In addition, the woodland part of the field was out of use as several trees had committed suicide over the last week, rendering it unsafe. However, the rest of the site was more than big enough for 70 people (in fact, it is big enough for double that number) and there was room to probe for gaps, move around flanks and generally be sneaky. Games were quickly improvised to suit the number of players, which they did, and it was a grand day despite the mud and general sogginess, although this was nowhere near as bad as mentioned in the two posts above! Guns used: Ares L1A1 (morning) Umarex (S&T) ARX 160 (this may be my favourite gun to shoot) (afternoon) Milbro M1911 Classic (CO2) - I really must get a better pistol.
  12. Yes, the slider style hop units in particular tend to have a significant impact on velocity; more hop = less velocity.
  13. They did indeed, which is what led me to email them. Hopefully, this will be the year that they actually deliver.
  14. Bought a few weeks ago; mosfet now fitted and shooting beautifully.
  15. They have a site in Chislehurst as well; it is on Foxbury Avenue, off the A222.
  16. https://www.red1airsoft.com Their online presence is minimalist.
  17. That really sucks. I hope that it does not end up as you fear.
  18. I have the Ares, which is why I want the King Arms one. 😀
  19. On one occasion at Red 1 Chislehurst, we finished a game and were about 10 to 15 minutes into the next game when we came under fire from one of the villages, which was not in play in the current game but had been the objective in the previous game. The marshals had not told the few players still defending the objective that the previous game had ended. After a few poor experiences, including excessive waiting around, marshals not knowing the rules for a game, the site owner failing to take action after a player shooting at wildlife threatened me for reporting him after he refused to stop doing it (it was clearly stated as being a serious offence in the brief), we finally walked out on a day when a group of players, including my son, reported a player for repeated non hit taking from grenades and BBs. Junior marshal called in the boss marshal who aggressively bollocked the complaining players for not taking their hits and refused to listen as they tried to tell him that they were the ones who had reported the non hit taking. It may have improved; hopefully it has as it is a cracking little site. My eldest son worked at Bunker 51 for a while; it is/was a literal death trap.
  20. It sounds like you had a great day. From your report, it seems that things might have improved at Red 1 Chislehurst. I have not been there for a while but words such as "organised" and "fair" are not ones I would have chosen to describe the marshalling there.
  21. Indeed; we will see what happens.
  22. A few days ago I emailed King Arms about a possible release date for their L1A1. Their response is: "L1A1 will be restock about the end of 2023." Hopefully, this will actually happen.
  23. They are nice little chrono's. I keep one in my game day bag for quick checks.
  24. I run a Hurricane SR47, but I don't like the look of this thing. However, I do rather fancy a Double Eagle.
